House Number Six

I got tired. I rose from the floor with a sore throat, I’ve been up here for about 3 hours and I had only about twenty pictures. My body was craving water. Maybe Mark had some. I peered from the roof to see him sitting in front of the house staring into space. I stretched. What is that? Is that a shadow? Is someone in the house? But Alicia said no one entered the house after the daughter and the governor. It’s coming from that dark corner. Could it be Mark? No way, he’s down there! WHAT IS THIS? I knelt down and put my eye into the lens. I see a silhouette of a human with things draping from its arms. HELL NO! What the ………………………!!!??!!???! Oh…… My………. GOD!!!NO WAY!!

7. Home

Alright. This is getting out of hand. It was all so facile but now everything is utterly complicated. OK. Calm Down. So a conclusion is that there is something in this house. Something that's not mundane. Now what? I squeezed my waist with both my hands in frustration. I'm shaking. I'm thirsty.

I trot down the stairs so I can get to Mark. He's robust, he'll be able to help (physically, I don't know if he's actually intelligent), but what if he doesn't believe me? He sure as hell won't. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. In. Out. That's better. "Hey Mark," I yelled as he was about a mile away from the gate and I have no idea why.

"Oh! Hi Hailey," he waved his hard-skinned hand at me with a smile plastered on his face. "How's it going? I was just thinking I should come up and check on you. You've been up there for so long with no food or water," he said after he walked to be standing in front of me, his smile still on his face. I feel awkward because I just totally don't feel like smiling and I don't want to be rude. I somehow manage to form a smile.

"Umm...I came down for a cup of water," I smiled awkwardly while playing with my fingers.
"Oh sure. I'll get you one in a second," he turned away and paced towards this little shack between Five and Six. So what am I supposed to say? How do I tell him? He's coming towards me with a cup of water in his left hand and two boxes the size of a hand each in his right. "I brought each of us a doughnut. You haven't eaten anything so I just thought...." he trailed off awkwardly then stretched his left hand out. I took the cup from his hand.

"Thanks! That's very ...generous of you," I break the silence then swallow the whole cup in one gulp and straight away feel the need for another one, but I guess it'd be rude to ask.

"Would you like another one?"

"No, it's ok," do I really need to be polite right now?He hands me one of the boxes in his right hand. A chocolate glazed doughnut waited for its journey to my intestine. Looking up, I can see Mark has already taken a bite from his. I take a small bite from mine and just as I'm about to melt in my own mouth due to the delicious doughnut that's being broken down by my saliva, I remember the reason I came down here. The silhouette I saw. I really don't know how to bring it up. "This doughnut is so tasty," I look up at Six then back at Mark. "When was the last time anybody when into that house?"

*~A/N~* This is extremely late. Sorry, for anybody who actually reads this. If you want to know more just fav, like and post in the comments.
