Here Comes Trouble

Jammie was the "bad-girl" type girl. Everyone hates her but most of them secretly love her. She's the queen of the school. Everyone listens to her because they're afraid of her. She's been in trouble more than 50 times and has been taken to jail 15 or more times, who wouldn't be scared? One day, a new kid from England comes to school. Harry Styles was his name. He was the same type of guy. They both act as if they hate each other but deep inside they know they have strong feelings for each other.

7. You Promised - Chapter 6

“Harry?” I shouted as I walked inside his house. He told me to meet him here but there was no sign of him. “Baby?” I shout once again ad heard nothing. Sighing, I sat down on the couch. I sat there for a while, thinking about everything. What if those girls were right? Something bad was going to happen. Maybe we weren’t meant to be. Maybe we were meant to be enemies.

“Babe?” I heard Harry’s husky voice echo in the air. I turned my head to the side and saw Harry next to the couch, his eyes red.

“Oh, babe,” I whispered, wiping the last few tears off of his cheeks. “What’s wrong?”

“You were thinking out loud,” he told me, making my heart break. “Who told you that?”

I was quiet for a while, thinking of what to say. I felt horrible. “Just some girls in the bathroom.”

“Don’t believe them. Please.”

I felt my heart breaking with each word he said. I felt myself die when he said please. His broken voice. The way his eyes were red and puffy. They all hurt me. I hurt the one I love. Or think I love. “I’m sorry,” I said in a broken voice before standing up from the couch. I headed to the front door, reaching my hand out to grab the handle.

His arms snaked around me. “Don’t leave me,” he whispered in my ear. My eyes were getting watery and I blinked to make the tears fall. I hated seeing him hurt.

“I need to think,” I whispered back, stuttering at parts. I heard his breath get caught in his throat. I felt his cold tears fall on my shoulder. My tears poured out as I felt the fifth tear. I was getting broken.

“About what? I love you,” he whispered, finally. His voice was even more broken than before. I felt as if I was about to die. I couldn’t stand seeing him like this.

“About us,” I told him in a stern yet broken voice. I got out of his grip and opened the door. The sound of him sniffling broke me even more, but I started walking out the door.

“Please,” I heard his mutter from inside. “Don’t leave me.”

My breath got hitched in my throat. I stopped walking and turned to him. “You promise to me that nothing will happen to us?”

“I promise,” he choked out. “I love you too much to hurt you.”

I tried to put on a smile as he said those words, but my face fell and tears fell again. He ran up to me and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tight.

“It’s okay,” he whispered. “I’m here.”

* * *

I walked into the auditorium. It was huge. I went up to the stage and jumped up. I looked around the room, seeing how many seats there were. I’m suppose to sing in front of so many people, in this exact place, for the talent show. I was planning on singing the song I made for Harry when we were enemies, but I changed it to something that relates to me.

“When you feel my heat, look into my eyes, it’s where my demons hide, it’s where my demons hide,” I sang the lyrics quietly. There was no one in the room, but I didn’t want to sing loudly and have someone walk in.

I shook my head and walked backstage. Expecting no one to be there, I looked around. I would have to stand right here. Waiting for my turn to come. Waiting to have everyone see my talent. I heard talking coming from the closet of props and costumes. Who would be hiding in there?

I opened the door to the closet and gasped. “H-Harry?”

His green eyes looked at mine, seeing the hurt in them. “Babe,” he started before the tramp next to him shoved him.

“Babe? I thought you only called me that?” she shouted, slapping him across the face. She looked at me and scoffed. “Are you cheating on me, Harry?”

My eyes were wide. “He’s cheating on you? He’s cheating on me! We were dating first.. Right, Harry?”

He choked on his words but ended up saying something I didn’t want to hear. “Yes.”

A wave of hurt hit me before the tears fell out of my eyes. I ran away from backstage and ran down the stage. The tears kept falling, either hitting the ground or my clothes.

“Jammie!” I heard Harry shout. I turned to him with anger filling my body. He stepped back when I came closer to him.

“You promised!” I shouted at him before pushing him. “You promised nothing would happen! Then you go out and make out with some chick in a closet? How long has this been going on?”

“A week,” he revealed, making the tears fall out of my eyes again.

“A week? We’ve been dating for a week,” I started before breaking down. “You never loved me. You just wanted to see me hurt.” I looked away as he leaned in to kiss me. “Don’t.” I turned around and stormed off. My heart was crushed but I kept my head up high and wiped the tears away from my cheeks. He’s your enemy, Jammie. It was bound to happen.
