It was getting close to the end of my shift and it was almost noon so the sun was still shining. I haven't seen James ever sence the morning whe he was training me.
I grab the rag and wipe and I start to wipe down the counters. I see someone walk towards the counter. I sigh not really wanting to have another coustomer because my shift was now basically over. Thankfully it wasn't a coustomer, but I was worried when I saw it was James.
"Hey," he starts "What to go out to lunch today?"
"I don't know"
"Come on" he says poking my arm, "You know you want to" he says smiling.
"Okay, I guess" I say trying to hide my smile. "What do you have in mind?" I ask tossing the rag into the bucket.
"Um, I was thinking the we go to the other side of the beach with this picnic basket Joe helped me put together" he says purposely mumbling while looking down at his feet.
"Joe helped you make it?" I ask raising my eyebrow.
"Yep, that's what I said, now come on"
"Ok, but can I go home and change first? I don't want to wear my work clothes"
"Okay thanks! Be back in 10 minutes" I say before running out to my car.
I hop into my car and zip home. Did I really just agree to go on a date with James?! I shake my head of all my thoughts as I pull into my driveway and run up to my room.
I pull out a floral dress and some flats I fixed my hair and put it into a messy side braid and I finished off the look with red lipstick. I spray some vanilla perfume on myself and I grab my keys of my white dresser and run down the stairs.
"Honey, where are you going?" my mom asks as I run past her.
"Out!" I yell as I run out the door. I hop into my car and I drive back to the beach. I see James sitting on the hood of his car looking out at the ocean.
"Hey" he says noticing me. He jumps off the car handing me a rose. James was now wearing a dress shirt and jeans and it seemed that he put on some cologne. "You look amazing" he says looking at me.
I blush replying with "You don't look to bad yourself"
