Niall and I have been 'dating' for a month now. I had to go back to California because we were there for my dad's work, not really a vacation. Well it was for me, because I turned 18. It was not that great of a birthday really. Basically Niall, my Dad, Liam, Louis, Zayn, Nanny, and I went out to dinner, went back to our home, and then ate cake. Then everyone gave me presents. Liam got me a black iPhone case that said '1D's Bestie' in white letters, which I used all the time now, Zayn got me a really nice black Varsity jacket that said my name on the back and had white sleeves with black bows on them, and Louis got me a shirt that said 'Tomlinson's Tea Party VIP'. There was a joke about that with us. I was watching Louis drink tea by himself in his apartment, and decided to join him, and we kind of bonded. So we made a joke about it. My dad told me that he was going to buy me a plane ticket to stay with Niall for a while a few weeks after we came back home. He believed that we were a close couple, just like everyone else. Nanny gave me a box, a big box, of her cookies, that Niall and I shared and finished in two nights. Niall gave me something that made me laugh. A book filled with thousands of jokes. I wasn't really into joke books, but I really liked this book. It was funny.
You must be wondering what Harry got me right? Well he didn't get me anything. He didn't even show up to join us on my birthday, and I personally invited him. It took me so much strength to walk up to him and ask, "Hey Harry, you want to come to dinner with us tomorrow night? For my birthday." I even smiled at him, and watched him as he frowned.
"Maybe," he had said before walking to his apartment. I was left a bit sad and angry.
"Honey are you okay?" I heard my dad's voice say in a concerned tone. I looked up, forgetting where I was. I was in my room, in San Francisco. I wasn't in England anymore.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine Daddy," I said with a smile. He was standing at my doorway. He smiled back at me, then walked off. I let out a small laugh. He was getting better at being a father.
My phone that was in my lap started buzzing. I looked down to see Niall's name. I answered his call with a, "Hey Niall-iall-iall."
"Oh my gosh, LIAM SHE CALLS HIM NIALL-IALL-IALL!" I heard Louis scream into the phone. I started laughing. Gosh, I missed Louis, especially after out tea party. "So Bow, how are you doing girly?"
"I'm great, just miss you guys a lot," I said sadly, meaning the truth. It was weird, I was sad, and I didn't know why. Nothing could cheer me up either, not even reading.
"Good! We want you to visit us again!" I heard Zayn say. I rolled my eyes.
"Thanks, but I just got back home like a week ago, how about we wait another week?" I promised. I heard a familiar laughter in the background.
"Guys, give me back my phone!" Niall laughed. I couldn't help but also laugh. His laugh was contagious.
"Oh no! Niall don't eat me! Ahhh!" I heard Louis scream, then there was a thunk, and a bunch of laughter. Then it got quiet.
"Sorry, Louis dropped my phone," I heard Niall say. "Ah found it. Hey Bow."
"Hey Niall-iall-iall," I said in a smiley tone. Niall was my best friend, we were like siblings.
"I have to tell you something," Niall whispered. I heard the sound of a door closing, he must have walked into his apartment. "Harry's snapping."
"What?" I said, very surprised. "What do you mean?"
"He told me he can't take it anymore. I asked what he meant and he said Kendra," Niall said. I waited for Niall to continue. "He seemed surprised when he told me that, so I asked what she did, and he got up saying that he had already said to much, and walked away."
"Wow, now I know you were right, there is something fishy about Kendra," I say, still astonished. I felt a smile creep onto my face. "I think maybe I should come sooner than waiting another week."
"Me too," I heard Niall laugh. "Gosh, I can't wait for Borry to happen" I felt my face burn up. Niall must have sensed what happened because he started laughing.
"Not funny!" I said. Then my phone beeped. I was getting another call. "Hey, Niall, let me call you back later or something, I'm getting another call. Talk to you later." I answered the other call. "Hello?"
"Hey Bow!" I heard Marissa say. I smiled. "We need to hang out! I have something important to tell you..."
"Okay, come on over!" I cried out. "I missed you! Make Stace come too!"
"Okay! See you soon!" she hung up. I got up from my bed and walked into the bathroom. I changed into a black and white Mickey Mouse T-shirt and pulled on some grey skinnys. I walked back into my room, to my make-up table, to do my usual eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. I let my hair down after brushing it with my hair brush. Then I took my favorite bottle of perfume and sprayed myself. I smelled like sweets. I found my plain black flip flops under my bed and slipped my feet into them. I grabbed my white purse from my closet, placing my phone in it before walking downstairs. I decided to grab a smoothie. A passion fruit and mango one.
Just as I finished my smoothie, there was a ring from the door, signaling that Marissa and Stacy came. I happily opened the door, smiling, but frowned a bit when I only saw Marissa. "Oh hey Mar, where is Stace?" I asked as she walked in.
"Hmm? Oh well you know her and Dave are so close now she has no time for friends," Marissa said distastefully. She must have been lonely while I was gone ans Stacy didn't hang out with her. "Ugh, anyways, are we going out?"
"Yeah, unless you want to stay here," I said. Marissa was my best friend, so I didn't want her to feel uncomfortable. My friends were always ahead of me.
"Oh, no it's fine... I just..." Marissa's expression changed to a very uncomfortable and sad one. "Can we stay in the car while I tell you what I need to tell you then?" I nodded quickly and ushered her out to my car. We got in and I started driving her away from the city. Far away. Okay not too far, but there weren't many people in the neighborhood I drove us too.
"Okay spill," I said quickly.
"O-Okay, so well.. While you were gone... um Scott and I were alone... and he was angry... and well..." Marissa was fidgeting a lot with the hem of her black t-shirt. I put my hand on her shoulder, urging her to go on. "Well... Okay don't think of him as a bad guy... but then he started drinking... And we were a lone at his place, his family was out... And he was still angry... And he tried to... he tried to... t-touch me..." She was fighting to keep the tears in.
"Whoa, he what?!?" I said, a little stronger than I should have. Marissa jumped a bit. "Sorry Mar, finish telling me."
"Oh okay... Um but then I told him to stop... and at first he didn't! But then I guess he realized what he was doing and backed away from me... Bow, he looked so terrified and he went all pale... Then he punched a wall..." I could see Marissa shaking a bit. But then she continued. "His hand got all bloody and he kept apologizing, but I didn't know what to say, I wasn't even crying... We haven't seen each other after he called a taxi to come get me... And now I don't know what to do! We text and he's called me maybe twice..."
"Wait how long ago was this?" I asked.
"Two... two weeks ago..." Marissa said quietly.
"Oh wow... Um do you know why he was angry?" I asked.
"Well... It's because his old girlfriend tried bullying me but he caught her before she did, and so he was just angry that she was targeting me," Marissa said. She seemed okay to have talked it out now, but I could tell she was still scared. Not from Scott, but that their relationship was ruined.
I let out a small laugh, causing Marissa to snap her head up at me. Confusion was written all over her face. "You're so silly!" I said with a warm smile. "Mar, I know that situation must have been scary, but I think Scott showed you something. He showed you that he cares, a lot, about you." This information caused my best friend to smile.
"Of course. Hey, let's go get some fro yo and shop okay?"
"Thank Bow, I love you, you're the best."
"Of course," I said with a teasing laugh and Marissa playfully smacked my arm.
