31. The Fight
I woke up on top of Layla, her head softly resting on the pillow of the couch, messy hair sprawled everywhere. One of her hands was still in my hair, the other on the back of my neck. "Layla?" I asked. She slowly opened her eyes. "Harry?" She said groggily. I chuckled at her voice. "What is that?" I asked looking behind her head. I pulled the piece of paper out from under her. "Two down, YOU to go." Layla read out loud. "He was here..." I whispered, "We forgot to lock the door." "What if he's still here?" She asked sitting up cautiously. I checked the apartment but found nothing. "Two down..." I read again. "Two dead..." Her breathing became more rapid as she thought of who it could be, I started freaking out myself. "Layla, calm down. Relax..." I hesitated. "We have to check on the others." She said as there was a knock on the door. "Stay here." I demanded. "Harry..." She hesitated shaking her head and tugging on my hand. "Layla!" Ail yelled though the door. She ran to the door, yanking it open. "Have you seen Dylan?! We haven't seen him since last night!" Ali asked. Layla immediately broke down in tears. "Is everyone else here?" I asked. Ali nodded, eyeing Layla curiously. I showed her the note and she ran to show the others. "He's gone..." She sobbed. "Layla please..." I begged, starting to cry myself, "Please don't cry..." I wiped her tears. "I have to find him..." She cried. "He treated you like shit, Layla." I reminded her. "That doesn't mean I don't care." She added. "It's too dangerous for you to go out there..." I hesitated. "Just come with me...you promised you'd protect me." She said. I followed her outside. Everyone else was searching. Layla and I walked past some buildings. They were so close there was only about 4 ft. Between them. I was pulled into an opening between two of the buildings. "Harry!!!" Layla screamed. I saw Dylan's face, he furiously threw a punch at me. "Dylan what the hell are you doi-" I was cut off by another punch. "I never liked you, Harry." He said and threw another punch to my nose, causing it to bleed. "Dylan stop!!!" Layla cried. "Layla stay away you little-" I punched him hard. His jaw clenched in anger. He punched me hard in the stomach, making me hunch over in pain. It was hard to breath with the blow, and him hitting me in the back didn't help very much either. "Dylan please!!!" Layla begged. He threw more punches to my face, ending with a kick in my crotch. Layla gasped and ran over to me, Dylan disappearing down the ally. I groaned in pain, falling to the ground. Layla rushed to catch my head and gently set it on her lap. "Harry..." She trembled. "Layla... Layla I'm ok..." I promised. The rest of the group found us. "Harry what happened?!" They all asked. "Dylan beat him..." Layla answered. Everyone gasped and cursed. "I'm ok..." I said standing up. Layla turned me around towards her, placing her hands on my cheeks and wiping off the excess blood. "I'm so, so, so, sorry, Harry..." She apologized. "Layla it's not your fault." I reassured her. "I...I don't know what happened to him..." She sighed looking down. "Layla, I'm ok..." I promised her. "This is all my fault." She said. "No it's not. None of this is your fault, and I don't want you to think that it is." I promised. "He's not coming back." She whispered. I pulled her closer to me, wrapping my arms tightly around her. "He was no good, Layla." Louis said. "What if he killed Harry?" Liam added. "What if he killed you? Or brought us into more danger?" Perrie asked. Layla just gripped onto my jacket. "It doesn't mean that I don't love him."
