The End

When the world ends, will Layla and Dylan be able to survive on their own? They haven't found any water in days, and their food selection is scarce. They need to find help, before their time is up. When they meet up with five boys from the fire, will they be able to survive together? Or will hell find them first? So far, hell is winning.

28. Heart Beat

Layla's POV:

I woke up on Harry's chest, my ear close to his heart. I listened to the soft thumps, beating in rhythm. Looking up at his eyes every so often, I admired the perfect angle of his jaw line. I fiddled with his clean shirt, staring in awe at the way it fit perfectly over his toned stomach, the outline of his abs showing through it perfectly. I laid my head back down on his chest, feeling it rise up and down beneath me. I felt his hand wiggle out from underneath me and make its way over the small of my back. "Don't leave me..." Harry whispered. I furrowed my brow and grabbed onto his hand, images starting to pour in. He was dreaming of Ali, kissing her and hugging her, he glared at her, spinning his body towards mine. "Why'd you kiss her?" I asked, voice started to sound hoarse. "She kissed me Layla, I.....I want you. Don't leave me..." In that moment my eyes shot open, turning 10 times the normal size. "W-What?" I whispered. Harry immediately sat up. Sending me flying to the other side of the couch. "Sorry..." He hesitated. I just stared at him in confusion. "What'd you see?" He asked me. I took a deep breath and sighed, pulling my legs up to my chest and wrapping a blanket around me. "A decent part of it..." I sighed. "What part?" He asked again, anxiousness filling in. I stared around, wanting to look anywhere but where he was. "The part where you kissed Ali..." I hesitated. "And?" He asked scooting closer. "The part where you said you wanted me..." I added. He he took a deep breath, letting it out slowly. "It's ok, Harry. I never said I had a problem with it. I might....I might want you, too. Not in that way, in like a relationship way, ya know?" I replied with a smile. "Layla...would you maybe, possibly want to be my girlfriend?" He asked. I let out a small grin. "Sure, curly." He sighed in relief, closing his eyes Al's laying back down, gesturing for me to lay on him again. The city in the morning is gorgeous. Even when it's destroyed, it still looks beautiful. I heard Ali's footsteps coming from down the hall, but didn't bother to move. She walked right past us, backing up once she noticed what was going on. "Sorry...." She blushed, "Didn't mean to interrupt anything, I was just heading over to Niall's." She smiled and walked out.

Harry's POV:

Layla and I walked downstairs to the lobby where everyone was supposed to meet up. "Ok, the city is big, we need to look for stores and food that's not spoiled or destroyed." Dylan explained. "We should go in pairs." Niall said eyeing Ali. "Dibs on Ali!" He yelled. "I'll take El." Louis said. Dani and Liam were already holding hands, Zayn and Perrie walked towards each other, too. "Layla?" I smiled. "Sure, why not." "I'll go by myself." Dylan said. "Are you sure? Because with the madman and all I don't thi-" "I'll be fine." He cut Layla off.
