16. Finding Ali
"No duh..." Perrie replied. I grinned at Harry as he smiled at everyone else and lifted his chin up towards the ceiling. It was silent for a while. All I could hear was the ringing in my ears, still there from the explosions. It was slowly fading away. I wasn't going to complain, it was almost gone. The heavy breathing of everyone follies the room as we stared at each other awkwardly, not knowing what to say. I ticks of the battery powered clock echoed through the small room. I started to fidget, making myself more comfortable. Soon after everyone followed, filling the room with the sound of coats rubbing up against each other. After everyone was comfortable, it was silent once again. I kept eyeing Dylan. He wouldn't stop looking at me and mouthing, "Are you ok?". I nodded, making sure my face looked annoyed after while. I started thinking about my family, and what had happened the day the world had ended. I felt warm, fresh tears fall out of my eyes and down my cheeks. Some going into my mouth, leaving their salty taste behind, others falling straight to the floor. My head was down so that no one could see me. I heard a sniffle next to me and looked towards Harry. He was crying, too. He drew in a deep breath, "I miss my family." He stated. "We all do." Zayn replied. "We all lost almost everything." Perrie say looking over to Zayn. I set my head down again, feeling Harry's hand on my back, rubbing small circles, and switching to rubbing up and down every so often. "I'm lucky to have Layla." Dylan said, his voice hoarse like it always got when he cried. I looked up again, everyone was shedding tears. Some only letting it drizzle down their faces, others letting it pour....like me.
Layla's eyes were red and puffy, he cheeks were stained from her tears. "Ok...everyone calm down. We all have each other. And as long as we stick together, we should all stay safe." Louis stated, wiping away the few tears he let fall. "Can we head out again?" I asked, Layla knowing why I wanted too. "Sure. Is everyone ready?" Niall asked. Yes's came from everywhere as everyone replied. I took Layla's hand and began to walk with her. After about 15 minutes, Layla and I started talking to each other, getting to know each other. We were sending each other messages through our minds, pictures if our childhood, our families. I looked around at all of the buildings, seeing one that looked familiar. "Do you see that?" She sent me. "The building?" I replied. "Ya! Is that it?" She asked. "I think so." Once she got the message we both started running towards it. We saw a girl inside, tears streaming down her face as she called for help. We banged on the window, getting her attention. She looked at us with pleading eyes, begging us to help her. She was gorgeous, her long, brown, hair was the perfect length, with the perfect curls and her pale skin was just the right shade to bring out her bright blue eyes. Layla started to pick at the ice on the door. "Back up." I commanded. She ran away as I chucked a giant piece of ice at the door. It shattered into millions of pieces, leaving cracks in the ice on the door. It was easier for Layla and I to get the ice off and open it for the girl trapped inside. Layla ran in to help her as I explained what happened to everyone else. "Thank you." The girl cried into Layla's shoulder, Layla letting out a few tears of her own.
