I drove to Harry's house, tapping my fingers along to the song playing on the radio. I talked to Harry for a few hours last night, told him everything. I pulled into his driveway and texted him telling him I was outside. A few seconds later he came outside with just his backpack. He climbed into the car, tossing his bag in the pack.
"What's up mate." He said clipping his seatbelt on.
"Where's your gym bag?" I asked confused.
"Gym bag? Gym bag... Oh. You mean the one for rugby?" He asked trying to play stupid.
"Yes, the one for rugby." I said in a playful tone.
"About that, I quit the team." He said. My mouth fell open and I turned to face him. I was surprised. Actually, more then that. I was shocked. Why would he quit the team?
"Why? Why'd you quit the team?" I asked.
"Cause' your not on there. If your not there, why would I be?" He asked as if I already knew the answer.
"Harry, you can't make such rash decisions like this." I said putting my car in reverse and backing out of my driveway.
"Oh calm down Liam. Besides it's just Rugby." He said shrugging his shoulders.
"You quit just for me huh?" I asked.
"Yeah. What are bestfriend's for?" He asked putting his giant hand on my shoulder. I smiled a little bit at his gesture.
"Your something else Harry." I said laughing.
"I know it mate." He said chuckling a little bit too. We rode down our usual way, and to my not surprise we saw Louis and Alessia walking down the street. I slowed my car down and Harry let down his window.
"Need a lift Tomlinson's?" Harry asked smirking. Louis looked at Alessia and she whispered something in his ear before nodding to Harry. Harry got out the car and held the door open, nodding for Alessia to climb in. Once she did he climbed in behind her. "You can sit up front Lou." Harry said smiling cheekily. Louis gave him a fake smile and a thumbs up. I laughed a little and Louis climbed in the front seat and put on his seatbelt.
"Thanks for the ride Liam." Louis said.
"No problem mate, think of it as me thanking you for the clothes you let me borrow." I said smiling at him.
"You know, I forgot all about those clothes." He said chuckling a little. I put the car in motion and continued our drive to school. Louis and I made small conversation, while Harry and Alessia flirted in the back.
My first two classes were a breeze. I still got some stares about the bruise on my face, but it's gotten better. The cut on my lip has gone away, but the black eye and bruise on my cheek are still there. But they're slowly fading. The dismissal bell rang, I put my backpack on and headed to my third hour class. I kept my head down and walked past the kids who seemed to be pointing at me, some even laughing. I quickly walked past the jocks but over heard something that caught my ear.
"Yeah, that's the kid Liam beat up Shane over." I almost stopped in my tracks but continued to walk, not wanting to look like I was eavesdropping. "Yeah, Shane's pretty bad. But Liam got kicked off the team." The voice quieted down as I walked towards class. My thoughts were jumbled up. Liam fought Shane because of me? How did he know Shane was the one who beat me up? And above everything else, why would he do that? I walked into class and spotted Liam sitting in his seat. He had a cut above his right eyebrow, but that's it. I sat down next to him and he gave me a small smile.
"Are you okay?" I asked taking off my backpack. He nodded.
"Yeah." He said.
"Where'd that cut above your eye come from?" I asked pointing to it.
"Oh, that? Uh, I kind of got in a fight." He said.
"A fight? Why?" I asked, trying to sound surprised. Even though I halfway knew the reason why.
"Because he kept egging me on and stuff."
"He?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows together.
"Shane." He said.
"Liam." I sighed deeply. "I know you fought him because of, well, me." I said. "Wh-why did you do th-that?" I asked stuttering. I always stuttered when I was nervous, and I'm not sure why I was nervous to ask why but I did. He simply shrugged his shoulders and smiled at me.
"I hate bullies. And he bullied you." He said. I fought back a dumb smile, but allowed a small smile to creep upon my lips. I didn't want to seem to happy, but I actually was. He basically defended me, and only Niall had ever done that. It was good to know that there was somebody who had my back other then my brother.
"Thanks Liam." He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into an embrace.
"Don't mention it, B." He said smiling. The teacher began the lesson and Liam pulled out paper and a pencil. I did the same and we copied down the notes for today's lesson and once again, finished our assignment in class. The dismissal bell rang and we walked out of the class together, just chatting about nothing.
"So what are you doing for Valentine's day?" Liam asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
"Nothing." I said sadly.
"Nothing? Why you don't have a valentine?" He said chuckling. I didn't say anything and he stopped laughing. He cleared his throat. "Sorry." He said awkwardly.
"It's fine. What are you doing?" I asked. He also shrugged his shoulders.
"Hopefully, going on a date." He said. I nodded and as we approached the lunch room I stopped walking.
"I'm not feeling very hungry, so how about you go on ahead and I'll see you later." I said turning and waving to him. He smiled and waved and walked into the lunch room. I turned around and headed towards the library. Half of me hoped Zayn wouldn't be there, while the other half hoped that he would. I'm not sure what we were exactly. We didn't really establish that. And I still am very shy around him. I get nervous when I look into his eyes and his smile makes me weak in the knees. I just want to know why. Why am I his interest? I wonder if he's just using me to experiment what it's like to be with a boy, or if what he said was true about really having feelings for me.
I walked into the library and immediately spotted Zayn's hair, in a perfect quiff. When the door closed behind me, he looked up and gave me a smile. He waved me over and I reluctantly walked towards him. I sat down next to him and he scooted his chair closer to mine, his body heat radiated towards me and I immediately felt at ease. He smelled like cologne, mints, and a faint smell of smoke. How his mother didn't know he smoked, I'm not sure.
"Hey." He said. I just managed to smile. I couldn't speak, it's like I was at a loss for words, which I was actually. Under the table he took my hand in his and rubbed small circles on my palm.
"Why are you so nervous around me?" He asked, his voice husky and scratchy. I didn't say anything, just shrugged my shoulders. "You shouldn't be scared to be yourself around me. We kind of kissed ya' know." I blushed at his statement and he laughed quietly. "So, have any plans Thursday?"
"No." I said quietly.
"Good. Because I'm taking you out."
"Taking me out?" I asked. He nodded and then continued.
"Well yes. I want to take you somewhere. I'm not very sure where, but somewhere." He said smiling warmly at me, making my heart melt. I was all for it until I realized Greg's rules, no going anywhere without Niall.
"Zayn, I would absolutely love too." I sighed. "B-but, my brother said I ca-can't go anywhere without Ni-Niall going with me. Since the accident." I said sadly. His face got kind of hard, disappointment showing.
"But, Brandon." He said. "Is there anyway we can work around it?" He asked. I thought about it for a second.
"I don't know. Maybe Niall can go to your house or something? And we tell Greg I'm there with you guys?" I say nervously. I hated lying, especially to Greg. But the look on Zayn's face made me want to do anything to make it happy. He smiled widely at me.
"Brandon, that's excellent! Do that!" He said excited. I nodded and smiled.
"I will." I said. Zayn looked around the library before pulling me by my arm behind a book case. He looked around again before pressing his lips to mine roughly. He put his hand on the back of my neck, forcing his tongue in my mouth. The kiss was passionate and powerful. When he pulled away I was left breathless, and wanting more.
"That's my way of saying thank you babe." He said. Babe, he called me babe. I smiled to myself and blushed a light shade of pink. "It's cute when you do that." He said, making me blush only more. Damn my face for being so pale. He pecked my lips one more time before heading back to the table and picking up his backpack. He turned around and winked at me before exiting the library. I sat back down and put my head down on the table. I had a date with Zayn Malik Saturday, and saying I was extremely anxious was a complete understatement.
I know I've skipped several holidays and went right to Valentine's day. But let's act like that doesn't matter. I want to make a romantic chapter for Valentine's day. Also, I've published a new novel based on Justin Bieber. He is gay in the story, so if that bother's you then don't read it. Favorite and comment on here! Feedback is always loved. Thanks loves!
