Alcoholic Veins

Would you ever think after one bar fight, Brooklyn might find the boy to take the liquor out of her hands, and show her what love was again?

33. 32

Brooklyn's POV:

"So be honest with me, did he take you v card?"

Bella grinned a bit and pulled the blanket over her face, trying to not make it obvious.

"No. Fucking. Way. Harry goddamn Styles took your virginity last night. Just ripped it up like a piece of paper. Gone. Poof! Whats it like? Is he as cocky in bed as he is on a day-to-day basis?"

"Brooklyn!" Bella appeared from under the blanket and was laughing uncontrollably, but it stopped quickly when Liam came inside. Just Liam.

"Where's Harry?" She said worriedly, her voice low. She seemed almost scared of Liam, like he hurt Harry again.

"Gone." That was all he said, just that one word.

Bella crumpled right then and there, grabbing the blanket and choking back tears. I grabbed her shoulders and hugged her as tight as possible. Her entire body was shaking, and i was doing all of my willpower to make her better. I played with her hair and let her cry on my shoulder, eventually letting go of the blanket and full out soaking the shoulder of my shirt. I didn't care though, because I knew this wasn't the first time she had done this, and I knew it wouldn't be the last.

"I'm sorry I got you in this mess, I should take the blame for all this." I felt myself almost give in to the tears, but shook it off and she looked up at me.

"No, its not. Don't take the blame for this." I knew she was trying her hardest to talk, and I gave her a lot of credit.

"I need to talk to Liam, okay? If I leave just know I'm going to get Harry, if thats what you want."

She nodded and gave me a tight hug, letting me go to find my boyfriend. Not rushing down the hall, my light footsteps echoed through the hall as I opened the thin wood door to find Liam dozed off on my bed. He seemed in another world, his eyes focused on an individual blade of the fan spinning in circles. The circles never seemed to stop, nor did his focus on the blade.

"When you get some sense and drop the piss-poor attitude, call me. Watch Bella; I'll be gone for as long as I want to be. If you come after me I'll just be gone longer."

Liam stood up and shook his head. I knew there was no way I could stay mad at him. I stood on my tippy toes, hugging him lightly and accidentally kissing him. With all force, he tried to deepen the kiss, but I pulled away and it my my turn to shake my head.

"Nope. You gotta agree to take care of Bella."

"I solemnly swear I will watch over Bella. Now let me kiss you goddammit."

I shouldn't be running through an airport to find a boy who practically tried to kill me- the same boy my sister was in love with. I should be at home with Liam.

I shouldn't be explaining Airport Guest Services why I need to purchase first class tickets to an unknown place because someone who had boarded the most recent flight moments ago is risking his life; as well as my "sister." I should be at home with Liam.

Theres where I run into my first problem. Life is filled with "would haves" and "should haves." Yet, in the real world, theres only "could haves." I could have stayed home with Liam, but I didn't.

"Is everything alright, ma'am?"

"Yeah fine." I gave her a wad of money and my passport, in case I was being flown across the world to somewhere like the North Pole. I got my plane ticket and walked out of the airport, sitting in my car and turning it on. Conveniently, Liam's bubblegum pop was blaring through the radio, and I turned it off and drove in the opposite direction as home.

The next thing I knew, I was checking into a fancy hotel, specifically requesting I had the room furthest away from the bar. I stated it was for a medical emergency, and if papers need to be brought in that the woman could call my legal phycologist. I was given the key and the woman looked at me with deep sunken eyes, filled with gloss and fear.

I pulled out my phone and called the first number on speed dial, I had to play two truths and a lie tonight.

"Liam? Yeah, I wont be home until next weekend." Truth.

"Sorry, babe. I'm going to France." Truth.

"I need to stop by the house to get some clothes for the trip, hopefully the weather treats me well. With my luck it wont."

"There, was uh, a family emergency, so they requested I flew out to help." Lie.
