3. It's a date
The ride to my dorm was rather quite. Partly because all the thoughts that were rushing through my mind. Partly because the driver was a complete stranger and lacked a personality. And partly because the jet lag that was finally kicking in. When we arrived, practicly no one was unpacking their car. And already, I felt out of place. Thankfully, the driver brought every last one of my bags to my dorm, which was exceptionally cozy. I put my clothes away in the one tiny dresser and set my bed. To my surprise, I had gotten to the place before my roommate, so I had the pleasure to mark my territory on the bottom bunk. The sound of the rain was ridiculously soothingly. I put pictures on my wall that I had torn out of Elle and Vogue magizines, while listening to Frank Sinatra. It was a pretty good start to my time in London, but in the back of my head I knew it wouldnt be like this with my roommate who would probably be arriving tomorrow. I plopped down on the hard mattress and finally dozed off to the lovely music.
I woke up around 9. Like I regularly do. To my delight, the roommate wasn't here yet. It was still raining, so I thought it would be the perfect day to hit the library, seeing as I left most of my books at home. I left the room for a shower, which was completely awkward. Practically The house dorm was in the shower rooms. So I had to wait quite a while for my turn, leaving the water cold as ice. I let my hair stay in its natural dark waves, seeing as the rain would ruin it if I did it all nice. I decided it would just be comfy day, so I just slipped on a pair of skinnies and white knit sweater with my moccasins. I didn't have anyone to impress, so why not? I heard from students that the library here had a bad selection, so I decided I would walk to one off campus. I stopped at Starbucks and grabbed a Pumpkin Spice Latte- the perfect fall beverage. It took my quite a while to walk to the library, but it was worth it. There were racks and racks of books. I was overwhelmed with the selection. I took a little stroll through the aisles, quickly looking over books until I found a title that really caught my eye. "Looking For Alaska" My hand reached for the book when I found myself tugging at it. I looked up, away from the book to see Zayn with his hand on it also. " You can take it, I'm sure there's more" His voice was slow. "No, you have it. I was just browsing" I couldn't take my eyes off him. I must of looked like an idiot, staring at him in awe. "Are you sure? You can borrow it after, if you'd like" He was talking so smoothly, not taking his eyes off mine. I finally broke the stare. "Uhm yeah, thats fine." I smiled. "I'm actually glad that I ran into you." He giggled. "Yeah? Why is that?" I asked, trying to sound sexy and completely failing at it. "I thought we had some good conversation on the plane, and I would like to finish that." He answered. His accent was about to kill me, The way he pronounced his words fascinated me, making me dread everytime he stopped talking. "Hmm, is this a date you're asking me on?" I jokingly asked. "If you would like it be, then yes it is." He winked. I was about to pass out. I wanted to scream. "Then it's a date." "Great, tomorrow then? I'll text you" He wrote his number on my hand. I smiled at him before he walked away with the book in his hands. I was looking forward to this date more than anything.
