Chapter 12- Home at Last
I got home and ran up to my room, running up the spiral staircase I had and up to my closet. I put on a pair of black sweats, a cream sweater and put my hair in a pony tail. I went back downstairs, putting my grey finger less gloves on as I went, my slippers padding on the metal staircase as I went. Halfway down the stairs I saw my favorite mess of curly brown hair and I sprinted for him. I nearly slipped but when I was right behind him I jumped on his back.
Not my smartest choice.
He wasn't expecting it so he was completely shocked and jumped, almost causing me to fall off of him. He nearly lost his footing and I fell back onto my bed. "Abby!" He said throwing his arms around me.
"Hey, baby." I said, feeling the tears coming on.
"I called you, what happened?"
That's when I lost it. I started crying as I explained everything to him. Visiting Kayla, the paparazzi, my panic attack, all of it. He hugged me tightly and kissed my forehead, stoking my hair the whole time and telling me it would all be okay.
Once my tears had died down, Harry pulled back from me. He was fiddling with something in his hand.
"Harry? What is it?" I asked, wiping the tears from my face.
He let out his nervous laugh before holding a small box out to me. I took it from him, my hands shaking a little. The black velvet was soft between my fingertips, calming me a little... or maybe that was Harry playing with my hair. I didn't know, all I knew was I should open this box.
With timid fingers, I pried the box open and a small gasp escaped my lips. Inside the box was a necklace. It was a sparkly diamond bow- a cheer bow. He knew I secretly loved cheer, no matter how many times I had denied loving Kayla's thing. It wouldn't be right for me to love her thing but he knew I did.
I took the necklace from the box and held it in my hands. I looked at it closely, marveling at the simple beauty of the delicate silver bow, with small green diamonds thrown in with the white ones.
I looked at Harry and whispered words I couldn't even hear to him. He laughed and said "You're welcome, my sweet," before placing a kiss on my forehead. I put the necklace on and wrapped my arms around him and as he once again played with my hair, I began to fall asleep thinking, I'm home at last.
