Sophie and I woke up around one the next day. I had a small headache from the previous night but it was bearable. Sophie and I did each other's nails before plopping down in front of the tele. We watched Finding Nemo the movie that was made in the states and then took a nap. When I woke up it was dark outside. "Shit!" I muttered.
"What's wrong?" Sophie asked me.
"I'm late for a meeting! Be back later!" I called to her as I grabbed my phone and left. I recieved a text from her Who are you meeting? it said.
I had just reached the park when I began to reply to the text. "Hey sorry I was sleeping," I said to the guy. He was sitting at our usual meeting spot and nodded.
Don't know his his name.I sent back to Sophie.
Him? A guy? She replied. I was going to reply but the guy took the phone out of my hands.
"You seriously need to stop doing that," I told the guy.
"Well how would you feel if I was texting here?" He asked.
"What's so special about here?" I replied surprised that he was offended.
"A d- never mind," He answered.
"This is a date?" I questioned him with raised eyebrows.
"Well I don't know. Who were you messaging anyways?" He asked changing the topic smoothly.
"My friend," I answered vaguely. He nodded knowingly.
"How was the concert?" He asked me.
"It was okay." I answered him.
"Who's your favorite?" He questioned me.
"I don't really like them." I said warily reaching over to take my phone. Me, being the clutz I am, fell, and right onto the guy. He laid back so I ended up laying on him.
"You should stop doing that," He told me.
"Whoops." I said innocently but made no move of getting up. I realized I had the perfect opportunity to see his face. My phone's light would show me his features in clear defiance. But I decided I wasn't quite ready to see him yet. If I recognized him it would be really awkward and if he was ugly it would be too.
"I can't meet you here tomorrow. I have to meet with a f- family member," He said. I cocked my head to the side in suspicion.
"That's okay. I promised my friend I would go meet with someone," I replied. "Which by the way, how did your thing go last night?" I asked him awkwardly propping my elbows on his chest to try to look at his face.
"It was an okay thing. Hang out with some friends, drank some beer, the usual," He said responding just as vaguely as I had.
We chatted some more and time escaped us. By the time we said good-bye it was already 9:30. He left the park the same time that I did and we left with the promise of meeting on Monday. I began to think it was going to be a regular thing; meeting up late at night. Then I thought about how I didn't even know his name.
