I grabbed my fifth shot throwing my head back as I felt the stinging sensation of the alcohol slip down my throat. I shut my eyes tight as my hair fell in front of my eyes.
"Having a bad day pretty boy?" I looked through my bangs at the bartender, her elbows against the oak bar and her hand clutching my next shot.
Reaching for the shot with one hand and pushing my hair back with the other I spoke. "Something like that." She handed the glass to me.
"Tell me about it." She gave me a warm smile. "It's better than drowning your sorrows in tequila." I chuckled lightly.
"My girlfriend cheated on me with my band mate." I could feel my stomach start to twist. It hurt just thinking about it.
I grabbed my shot and brought it to my lips. I didn't want to feel what I was feeling anymore. I didn't want to cry. I just wanted answers.
"Maybe you should talk to her." I looked up at her and caught a glimpse of her name tag. "With all do respect Jesse, I don't think that's a good idea. I've already tried that which got me to come to your bar."
I looked up to see her smirking. "Alright, do you have any better ideas?"
"How bout you give me the rest of that bottle there and we can figure something out."
"No he just left Liam. I have no idea where he went." I spoke frantically into my phone to Liam as I grabbed my coat and car keys.
"Well I'm coming over to help you find him." He said. You could hear him rushing around and doors slamming behind him as he was leaving.
"Alright see you in a few." I heard the monotone dial tone after Liam hung up.
I shouldn't have said what I said to Zayn. Why couldn't I just tell him that I was sorry and I wanted to start over? Why was it so hard for me to do that? Why haven't I let go?
I've only made it worse. I really messed up this time. Seeing Zayn like that, so hurt was horrible. The way he broke down in front of me was one of the most scariest things I've ever been through.
"So we're over?" He spoke very quietly. "Zayn just hear-" Zayn cut me off. "Just answer my question Sophia!" He roared catching me off guard.
"I-I don't know." I mumbled weakly to scared to look at him. I felt him step closer to me. I looked up into his eyes. They were filled with tears. "Just tell me you don't love me anymore and I'll stop fighting for us, for you." Tears poured down his face as he spoke. "Just say it and I'll leave for good."
I shook my head. "Zayn you don't have to leave."
"But I do. You can't even tell me how you feel anymore. It hurts to much." Zayn turned away from me, his face in his hands. I didn't know what to say or do.
I broke him.
*end of flashback*
"Sophia!" I turned to see Liam and the rest of the boys running towards me. "What're you all doing here?" My eyes landed on Niall but he quickly looked away.
"They all wanted to help." I nodded my head. We all climbed into my car and started driving around the block.
"So where do you think he's at?" Liam spoke as he looked out the window. I kept my eyes on the road as I tried to think of places Zayn would go.
"How bout that pub?" Louis piped up. I looked to the right to a pub. Maybe Zayn did go in there.
After parking the car and grabbing my things we were in the bar. We looked around for a couple minutes but he was no where.
"I'll just be going to the washrooms then we can leave." I spoke to the boys. They all mumbled okays or waved me off as they continued to look around.
Once I finished using the washroom, I went over to the sink to wash my hands. As I fixed my hair, I heard two voices from one of the stalls.
"Oh my god!" The high pitched girl giggled. I rolled my eyes as I listened closer. I bent down and noticed a pair of red converse identical to Zayn's.
I felt like throwing up. I was the one who led Zayn to this. This was my fault.
And it hurt.
I quickly grabbed my purse and stormed out of the restrooms, tears clouding my vision. I sat down on one of the bar stools crying my eyes out.
"Are you alright?" I heard a women's voice speak. I looked up to see a dark haired women smiling down on me. I quickly wiped away my tears.
"I'm fine." She gave me a look like she knew I was lying.
"I think I just saw my ex with another girl in the washroom." I spoke. She rested her elbows on the table and her hands under her chin. "You think, or you know?"
I thought about it for a moment. I hadn't even seen if was Zayn, I just assumed it was him.
"I don't know." I whispered.
"Maybe you should talk to someone. There's a lovely young man here who also has a broken heart and a bottle of tequila. You two might understand each other."
She pointed in the direction of the guy. "Go for it." She whispered as she gave me a little push in the direction.
I stumbled over to the booth that he was sitting in. "I hear you have a broken heart." I spoke nervously. The guy lifted his head up in my direction making my eyes widened.
"Zayn?" I asked confused. Zayn chuckled lightly as he grabbed the bottle of tequila and took a long swing.
"I-I remember yous!" He spoke loudly. I sat down beside him, my heart breaking into pieces. "Zayn I'm so sorry." I took the bottle away from him, scared that he'd hurt himself.
"W-why are you s-sorry." He placed his hand on my cheek smiling wide. I pulled his hand way and held it tight. "Because I hurt you. That's why your here."
Zayn let out an exaggerated breath, the alcohol seeping into my nose. "I'm alright I promise." I felt his warm hands resting on my hips, his eyes boring into mine.
"Then lets get you home." I helped Zayn up by wrapping my arm around his waist while his arm was around my shoulder. I felt his hot breath against my neck as we walked towards the others.
"You found him." Louis pointed out. I rolled my eyes. "Can someone help me before he pass out?" Liam and Harry rushed over and took Zayn from my shoulders.
I groaned as I shielded my eyes from the sunlight. If I remember correctly, I was at a pub after Sophia and I fought for what felt like the millionth time. I sat up in bed looking at my surroundings. This wasn't my room, but there was something oddly familiar about it.
I got up to fast making my head hurt even more then before. Reaching for my shirt I heard a soft voice.
"Let me get that." There in front of me was Sophia holding my shirt out to me. She gave me a warm smile as she waited for me to respond. I grabbed my shirt from her hands, our fingers brushing against each others slightly leaving a tingly sensation in me.
I quickly slipped on my shirt and was about to grab my coat to leave when Sophia stopped me and gestured for me to take a seat. I reluctantly sat down but only because my legs started to feel like jelly.
"I wanted to talk to you." She spoke as she handed me some pain killers and water. I looked down at the two pills before looking back at her. She gave me a nodded telling me it was okay.
After taking the medication, I turned back to Sophia to see her playing with her fingers nervously.
"What'd you want to talk about?" I didn't know how raspy my voice was until I spoke. Sophia looked up startled. She started to play with her fingers again.
"How's your head?" I knew this wasn't what she wanted to talk about, but I decided to go along with it.
"Fine fine." I lied. My head was killing me. Maybe I should've drank so much. She looked up and locked eyes with me.
"I'm sorry," She whispered. "I don't know why I'm acting like this."
I shook my head. "Just talk me Sophia. If it takes us months to get better it'll be worth it." Ignoring my throbbing head I sat down closer to her so my hand was resting on her thigh.
"I want this to work too."
I grabbed both of her hands in my mine smiling. "First, this belongs to you." I pulled Sophia's promise ring from my pocket and dropped it in the palm. I watched as she held the ring delicately between her small fingers.
"Are you sure you want to give me this back?"
I nodded swiftly as I took the ring from her fingers and slipped it on. "This belongs to you."
I looked down at the ring, a goofy smile plastered on my face.
"Second," Zayn spoke instantly grabbing my attention. He leaned forward so his lips were inches away from mine. I could feel my heart rate increase. "I love you."
I felt light headed and dizzy. He still loves me after everything I've done. I felt Zayn wrap his arms around me in a tight hug pulling me so I lay on my back.
He planted kisses all over my face, leaving my face a dark shade of pink. Zayn's body straddled mine as he bore his eyes into mine.
"I love you too." Our fingers slowly intertwined as Zayn's face got closer to mine.
I want him to kiss me. I really do. "Don't make me wait any longer." I mumbled under my breath. I could feel my cheeks heat up as Zayn's warm smile turned into a cheeky one.
"Wait any longer for what?" He was teasing me. He know what I meant but this isn't funny to me. I rolled my eyes as I cupped his face with my hands.
"Kiss me." I pressed our lips together in. Zayn immediately responded by wrapping his arms around my waist as we continued to kiss. His lips were so soft and the faint taste of alcohol was still in his mouth.
When we finally broke away, we both started to breath heavily. I looked at Zayn with a smiled etched on my lips. I leaned forward and gave his lips a small peck.
"We're gonna make this work alright?" Zayn spoke as he ran his fingers through my hair.
I stuck my pinkie finger out to Zayn. Zayn gave me a look but still went on with it. Our fingers were wrapped together. "Forever and always."
