*1 Year Later*
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR MY LITTLE CANADIANNNN HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUUUU!" Vic scream sang off pitch, carrying in a simple chocolate cake, covered in little sugar maple leafs. "They didn't have anything related to Canada other than these fall sprinkles. I spent 20 minutes digging out all the red ones. You better enjoy the damn cake ye 21 year old."
"And she spent 20 minutes saying how I should be down there, but I'm getting my education." Abby smirked from the laptop.
"We are too!" Vic and I complained at the same which I am guessing by now everyone had finally just gotten used to seeing that we had a bad habit of doing this often.
Yes that's right. I started getting my medical degree, and at the same time, my physiology degree. Vic, well, she was being a Social Worker, learning all that Social Worker stuff I don't know about. Just how she only knew I wanted to be a Physiologist, she didn't know why I needed a medical degree.
I smiled at the cake set in front of me. Only one thing was missing. The boys. These boys had become my family.
Even though dealing with a depressed Zayn isn't the best thing to have to do, but since they left to go on tour we have a ritual. Every Sunday, he Skypes me and we just share our stories of Sam and eat Chocolate ice cream. Her favorite ice cream. If there wasn't ice cream, we ate white chocolate, once again, her favorite.
Niall, good God he is a piece of work. I've never seen a boy so in love with Vic, and yell at me for hogging her! If anything, he's hogging Vic. I had her first. Mine. Dibs. I win. But noooooo. Niall can kiss her and it makes the damn girl blush so of course he sends me a snarky 'I-Win' look. If I kissed Vic, she'd probably think I'm a creeper. Or a pedo. Either or.
Louis, oh God Louis is my favorite boy (other than Harry of course). He's like my brother, and I love him like a brother, more than my own. He always makes me laugh, weather it's making fun of Harry, or pulling pranks on Niall, he can always make me laugh. No offense to any of the other boys, but Louis, he's my favorite singer. His voice is just so... Unique. I love it. You can tell it's his from a mile away.
Liam, he is my sensible older brother. Unlike Louis (Who told me to drink today) Liam told me not to drink (of course I followed that one. I hate coffee and alcohol). He knows when I'm upset, and he just loves to force me into his twitcams, which are always really fun. Liam, Is the most innocent person out there -- To his fans At home, he's almost as bad as Louis, as long as no one is hurt, or going to get hurt. He's like the responsible Louis.
And Harry. My perfect Harry, I everything. He's funny, He's sweet, He's Sensitive, He's protective, He's loving, He's Understanding, He's Happy, He's mine... And I love him. The downside to that, I hate when he's on tours. He's always gone.
"Make a wish." Vic smiled as I stared at the flaming candles watching them dance in the breeze that the open window in the living room was letting in. There was really only one thing that I wanted and I know that for everyone else it wasn't too hard to imagine what it was.
I wish Harry was here, I though before closing my eyes wished my wish 3 more times before finally blowing out the candles.
"YAY! Now, I have a gift for you Birthday Woman." Vic cheered before smiling at me.
"Really now?" I smiled at her. "Is it a puppy?"
"Oh my God I wish." She giggled.
"A cat named Lavender?" I asked.
"I'm allergic to Lavender and Cats Courtney." She laughed cutting up the cake.
I stoop up from my chair and stepped away from the table. "Then what could you possibly get me."
I asked throwing my hands up in the air in defeat, but as soon as I did that I felt arms wrap around my waist.
"If you are a pedo I will castrate you." I murmured already making a plan on how to get out of this mystery person's hold.
I heard the person chuckle behind me and I stood there frozen for a second before my brain finally seemed to connect the sound to a face. A fact that I had longed to see since the second that he had walked out of the door almost a year ago.
"Harry!" I lit up and turned around.
"Actually no... My gift was a day at the spa for a Mani/Ped- NIALL!" She screamed.
I hugged Harry tightly as if I was never going to let him go. "I don't wanna Mani/Pedniall." I mumbled against Harry's chest.
"Nor do I."
"So... Cake..." Niall muttered looking at the slices of cake that she had probably forgotten about the second that Niall walked into the flat.
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY COURTNEY!" The other 3 boys shouted from beside me, making Harry and I jump and scream. Everyone around us started laughing as Harry and I clung to each other for a different reason.
"I don't know who screamed higher, Courtney or Harry." Zayn laughed, for as it seemed, the first time ever.
"Glad I could make you assholes laugh." I mumbled.
"So, Toria did you tell Courtney." Abby asked from the laptop looking directly at Victoria whose face instantly paled a bit at Abby's words.
"Tell me what." I asked looking at Vic who looked well terrified.
"Not exactly...." Vic mumbled slowly inching behind Niall who seemed to look a little hurt.
"Tell me what."
"Why not?" Niall asked holding Vic close almost seeming to pout at her.
"Because she's crazy." Vic answered as though it was the most obvious answer, which, in sincerity, it was.
"I'm right here."
"You should tell her." Abby and Niall chorused.
"TELL ME WHAT.... oh my God are you Pregger."
"That's why I don't want to tell her-"
"YOU'RE ACTUALLY PREGGER!"
"-She takes things way out of proportion-"
"ARE YOU ACTUALLY. I WILL KILL NIALL!"
"-Even though she's completely wrong."
"OH MY GOD WOMAN ANSWER ME!" I shouted interrupting her sentences.
"JESUS CHRIST COURTNEY I'M NOT PREGNANT." Vic cried out in despair, getting aggravated. "I'm... engaged?" It came out more like a question, I think because she was scared in how'd I react. Most people would think I'd rage. Those people, do not know me.
"ARE YOU SERIOUS? WHO WHEN WHY WHAT WHERE HOW DETAILS WOMAN!" I screamed prying myself from Harry's grasp and hugging both Niall and Vic tightly.
"You have one too Courts." Abby shouted from the computer screen. A feint 'Shut Up' was heard from the other side of the monitor. "OH YOU SHUT UP MARGARET." Abs screamed back at her dorm mate.
"This is a promise ring woman. I promised myself when I was 13, I would never get married until im 23. Harry here has to wait 2 more years."
"I can do that." He replied smiling at me.
"I never thought Vic would ever find anyone so this a surprise." Abby commented.
"I know! It's so weird she's getting married first."
"She is right here." Vic huffed, attempting to cross her arms, but still in the middle of a sexy and Niall sandwich, it made her unable. "And she is also getting suffocated."
A few hours after the boys had come home it seemed that everything had fallen back into place, of course a certain person was still missing, but for the sake of Zayn's sanity we all tried not to mention her. It's been a little over an entire year since Sam had disappeared and we had even gone to the police who had quickly dismissed the case saying that what had most likely happened was she ran away. Zayn, of course didn't exactly see eye to eye with the conclusion that the authorities made and he got a good amount of bad press when he bad mouthed one of the detectives. All in all though, everything had now calmed down and even Zayn was a bit more tolerable. Of course we never stopped looking or even thinking about Sam. I hadn't even known her for very long, but her disappearance had taken a big impact on my life as well.
"So when were you planning on telling me that you had gotten engaged?" Courtney asked sitting down next to me on the couch with a bag of chips.
"Honestly I thought you were going to figure it out before I even told you." I said reaching over and taking a few chips out of the bag. It was only me and Courtney in the flat at the moment. Harry and Niall had both decided that they were going to go grocery shopping since we were running a bit low on food. While Louis and Liam had left to their own flats to go and get some much needed rest after a long flight. Zayn had a left a little shortly after the rest of them had left stating that he was in the mood for a coffee.
"I hadn't really been paying much attention to you two lately and now I have to because now you two are getting married!" She said ending her statement with a small squeal. "My OTP is getting married! You have absolutely no idea how happy this makes me!" She said throwing the bag of chips on the coffee table before tackling me into a hug. "You better let me help you plan the wedding. Oh! We need to pick a theme, then go buy a dress, and we have to make sure that the bridesmaid dresses are not totally hideous and-"
"Courtney, slow down! We haven't even talked about a date yet, much less anything else." I said laughing at how excited Courtney got at the mere thought of wedding planning.
"And why the hell not." She exclaimed finally letting me go and sitting back into the original spot she had been sitting at.
"Well, I don't know if you noticed this but Niall just got home from a world tour. I am pretty sure that a wedding or wedding planning isn't something that he is really concerned about right now." I stated before grabbing the bag of chips that Courtney had abandoned when she tackled me into a hug.
"When did he even propose to you that I didn't even find out?" Courtney asked while turning on the TV and searching for a decent show to watch.
"The last time they visited." I responded waving my hand at her to stop changing the channel when she landed on a movie that didn't look half bad. "You know you're anniversary is in a few days maybe Harry will propose to you?" I suggested which only made Courtney burst out laughing.
"That's funny Vic." She said after a few minutes of her short lived laugh attack. "And you shouldn't be talking about my anniversary when yours is tomorrow an entire two years of my OTP being together."
I know that two years seemed like nothing to an average person, but to me they had seemed like the best thing ever. Two whole years of being with the person that made me feel like I was living on top of the world and I guess you could say I was. Niall never failed to make me happy even when I make the craziest or strangest of requests. He was an angel and I find it so hard to believe that he took even the slightest of interest in me. Every single day I wake up, I keep imagining that it was all a dream, but the second that I see him or see his good morning text, whenever he's away, I know that this is my new reality.
"How time flies huh?" I asked Courtney who only nodded and smiled in response. I was about to say something else, but I was interrupted by Niall's laughter as he and Harry walked into the flat their arms filled with grocery bags. "How was your shopping trip?"
"Boring." Harry responded before leaning down to give Courtney a quick kiss before walking into the kitchen to go put away the groceries.
"You guys didn't get mobbed by fans like you did last time?" I asked standing up and walking into the kitchen to help the boys put the food away.
"Thankfully no, today we were able to get some food and only have to stop a few times to sign some stuff and take some pictures." Niall said handing me an ice cream bar that I had asked him to buy me since he was heading to the store.
"That's-" I started only to get interrupted by someone literally banging on the front door. "Are we expecting anyone?" I asked walking towards the door since it sounded like whoever was knocking was probably going to knock down the door if I didn't.
"Not that I know of." Courtney shouted from the doorway to the kitchen as I reach the door to unlock it, but of course the person behind the door was very persistent and kept banging on the door.
"Calm the fuck down, Jesus." I said finally unlocking the door only to see Zayn standing there with literally the biggest smile you have ever seen.
"I found her."
