I pull up in front of Nicole's house and walk to her door. Before I could knock the door swings open and Nicole has my arm.
“What's the rush?” I ask calmly.
“My mum is being a real bitch today!” She says in frustration.
“Oh, well, my mum made me meet One Direction today,” I say sarcastically.
“Now is not the time to say jokes, Dylan!” She almost yells.
“I'm not! Alexis and Savannah won a contest, and they are at my house this very second! That's why I wanted to go to the mall with you so I wouldn't have to be there with them!”
“Wow, okay, well, let's go.” We got in the car and drove off to the mall. I heard a buzzing sound and realized it was my phone.
Alec: Hey babe, wanna hang out?
Me: Sorry, I'm going to the mall with Nicole... You could come... Or maybe later?
Alec: Okay, text me when you're done at the mall, love you!
Me: Okay, love you more!
I locked my phone.
“So, what store should we go to first?” Nicole asks.
“Uh, what about Forever 21?” I suggest.
She nods and smiles. “Sounds good to me.”
We walked to Forever 21, and I got a couple of t-shirts, and three pairs of skinny jeans. I then walked up to the counter to pay.
“Is this everything?” The cashier asked.
“Uh, yes, I think it is.”
She scanned my clothes and I payed for them. I looked around for Nicole to see her flirting with someone. I didn't want to bother her so I walked out of the store and went to Nandos. I texted her real quick telling her where I went.
Me: I'm at Nandos. I left when I saw you with a guy, so I thought I wouldn't disturb you!
I got in there and I recognized five guys sitting at a table. I kept walking and found a small table hoping they wouldn't see me. I sat down and a waitress asked what I wanted to drink.
“I'll have a Coke if that's okay,” I tell her, and she takes off with her notepad and three pounds of make up.
I was on my phone until I felt someone tap my shoulder. I looked back and saw Harry standing there. “What do you want?” I snapped at him.
“I saw you sitting here alone so I thought maybe I could sit with you?” He says quite unsure. I looked at him deciding.
“I don't know you tell me.”
He looked at me and sat down across from me. That really wasn't an invitation... “So, um, the weather's nice isn't it?”
I chuckled, “Did you seriously just as me about the freaking weather?”
“Uh, yeah, I guess I did,” He admits shyly.
“Wow, that's pathetic,” I told him, and he put up his hands in defense. “Hey, I'm just trying to start a conversation.”
Uh-huh,” I reply with an eye roll.
The boys and I went to two little girls' house because they were the winners of our contest. We were standing there talking to their mum and the twins until I saw somebody coming down their stairs. She looked around our age, but boy she was beautiful!
She went into the kitchen and I guess I was just staring at her because she yelled, and I quote: ‘Take a picture it'll last longer!’
Then she went into the living room. I blushed, and then her mum yelled at her.
Her name was Dylan... How nice. Aren't most boys’ named Dylan?
She came in and her mum told her to meet us. All the boys introduced themselves and then I introduced myself and stuck out my hand. I smiled my famous dimpled smile, and she shook my hand–which was hard to believe.
“I'm Dylan Marie Greene,” She did a curtsy. Then spoke up, “At your service.”
After that she just rolled her eyes, and muttered something going up the stairs. Her mum invited us into the kitchen for a drink so we all went in and had water. When Dylan came back down stairs she had on gray skinny jeans, a Beatles shirt, and black converse. She looked really pretty, but it seems like she hates us.
“Hey, does Dylan hate us?” I asked Savannah.
“Yeah, she says she hates One Direction and your music.”
Oh... Well then.
I looked at my watch and saw it was almost noon. “Hey boys you wanna go get a bite to eat?”
“Uh, Harry, shouldn't we stay here?” Liam asked, while he hinted my rudeness.
“No, you guys go ahead. We seem like we're boring you, so you can go,” Alice, the twin's mum, said with a smile.
Niall literally ran out the door and into the car. I drove to Nandos and we got a table. We ordered our food and eventually I found chicken in my hair.
“Guys stop it! We might get kicked out!” Liam warned, but we just ignored him and continued throwing food at each other. While we were yelling and laughing I saw Dylan walk in alone with bags and watched her get a table.
I managed to get away from the screaming boys and walked over to her table. I tapped her shoulder and she turned around.
“What do you want?“ She snapped at me.
“I saw you sitting here alone and thought maybe I could sit with you?”
She sat there for a minute and then spoke up. “I don't know you tell me,” She answers, and I took that as a yes. I looked at her and sat down across from her. I didn't know what to say so I was thinking of something to start a conversation.
“So, um, the weather's nice isn't it?”
I'm so stupid...
She chuckled, “Did you seriously ask me about the freaking weather?”
“Uh, yeah, I guess I did,” I answered sheepishly.
“Wow, that's pathetic,” She tells me, but I put my hands up in defense. “Hey, I'm just trying to start a conversation.”
“Uh-huh,” She replied with an eye roll.
“Why do you hate me?" I ask her, earning Coke to be spat all over my face.
She looked at me confused, “Who ever said that I hated you?” She asked.
“Savannah,” I muttered.
“Who?” She asked again, and I spoke up a bit louder this time.
“Savannah said that you hate me and the boys,” I gave her an emotionless look.
She looked away. “Dylan I'm right here.” I said guiding her back to looking at me.
“I-I just that um, well, okay, I don't know! It just seems like your whole life is fake! People are making you do all these things!" She confessed.
Well at least I know what she thinks now...
“Dylan, no one tells us what to do, and we aren't fake! Just don't believe all the rumors either they just are, ugh! Bad. We're real people also, okay? I mean we always have been, but our personalities are, too.”
She nods. “Yeah I know now.”
“Good,” Is all I say. Dylan looks over at the boys and they're still throwing food. We watch as the manager goes over to them and yells at them. We both laugh at them.
“Hey give me your phone,” I demanded.
“Give me your phone.” I repeated again. She handed it over, and I put my name and number in.
“Here,” I gave it back to her. She takes it. “Give me your phone,” She said mocking me, and I handed it over.
She gave it back and I looked at it. She put in her name and number also, and I smiled. She got up, “I have to go, I'll text you,” She promises.
“Yeah, okay,” I watched her walk towards the door. I went over to the boys and we all decided on going back over to Dylan's house.
