Nicole was packing up to leave her mother and father to go live on her own in London. She had just gotten out of college. Nicole was 19 years old and was excited to know that soon she would have her own home to live in. She almost had all of her stuff packed up when her mother walked in with a single tear streaming down her face like she was trying not to cry. "I'm gonna miss you, sweet heart" she said sadly. "I'm gonna miss you ,too mom" I replied. She looked up at her daughter and said "Promise that you will visit every holiday even Presidents Day?" "Yes mom" I mumbled. I was happy to get out of this house and experience the real world for the first time. But I knew that my over-protective mom wouldnt like me moving to a place so far away like London. Right now I'm living in New York but wont be for long. "Please dont be upset mom. I will try to visit soon... I just wanna settle into London for a bit. Its not like you will never see me again" I said playfully. I watched my mom smile a bit and disappear out of my room. I picked up all the bags that I had packed and followed her down the stairs. "Time for me to go now, mom" I said with a bit of sadnes. I felt bad for my mother because she would be all alone here. When I was 9 my dad died in a car crash and she raised me by herself. She said that she wouldnt date anyone else because she already knew that my dad was the one that was for her and nobody in the world would ever treat her like my dad did. (<- Thats so sad) "Drive safe alright?" my mom said. "Okay I will, I love you!" were the last words I said to my mom before I took off to London.
