Finally. I get a Louis day. I missed this boy to the moon and back. I just needed to have a day with him to relax, laugh, and talk. He’s always been the closest to me of all the boys, but he’s been distant lately.
"Hellloooo? Hello? Are you home?" I peeked around the corner of the kitchen door, expecting him to jump out and scare me like he always does, just to get a scream out of me. "Hello? Lou?"
It was too quiet. It’s not even physically possible for him to be this quiet... something was wrong.
I ran into the bathroom, screaming for him. "Where are you?!" and there he was, on the floor, with an empty bottle of pills in his hand, his eyes fluttering, and his head barely moving to look at me.
"What the hell do you think you’re doing?"
"I just... couldn’t, ugh... stand seeing you with... him. And... you never.... even... considered me. Ever."
"Please don’t talk like that. Please. Please. Don’t do this to me damnit. Stay with me. Stay here. HEY! Don’t close your eyes. Look at me." I grabbed his hand in one of mine while I dialed 911 with the other.
"At least, I know.... you.... care for me.... now...."
"I've always cared for you... I... " I began to cry.
"Shh... shh... everything's going to be…. better for you now. Better for me. I promise."
"Hey. I love you. Forever....." he gasped, "And always."
I watched as the life faded from his body. Not him. He was my ray of sunshine. My guy who always made my day better.
