10. Chapter 10 ~ Rock Your Body

I woke up early the next morning, the thrill of excitement running through my body like electricity. I remembered what day it was, I grabbed my phone and sent a quick good morning text to Nathan along with 'Happy one month anniversary'

Then I jumped out of bed and into action. I got into the shower and washed my hair, then I left it to dry naturally and pulled on my clothes. I had no idea what Nathan had in mind for today, so I decided to wear a navy blue skirt patterned with tiny red, white and dark pink flowers. I then put on a simple black t-shirt and my red blazer and pulled on my black ankle boots. I tried to drag my brush through my unruly wet curls, but only resorted in making my hair frizzier. Oh well, I though to myself, he's coming round at lunch time I think so there'll be more time to sort my hair out later. I didn't bother with make up first thing, and skipped down the stairs, landing lightly on the tips of my toes. I couldn't be bothered with breakfast and I wasn't that hungry, so I grabbed a few ingredients out of my cupboards and started on making a cake to mark the special occasion. A month, gosh I think, as I blend the ingredients together, has it really been that long? Time has flies by so quickly. As I'm pouring the mixture into a cake tin, the phone rings.

"Hello?"

"It's me!"

"Who is me?" I question, although I know exactly who it is,

"It's Sophie... Duh!" Sophie says through the phone to me, making me laugh,

"So, how did it go?" I ask,

"How did what go?" Sophie questions, acting innocent,

"Sophie," I begin, "you know full well what I'm talking about! How was your date with Rory?"

I eventually get the whole story out of her whilst I finish off the cake and pop it in the oven. Turns out she had a really nice time and she's seeing him again tonight. After a long talk about him and just things in general, I say to her,

"I really don't want to stop talking to you, but I've got to go and get ready!"

"Oh I see, what's the special occasion? Though I'm sure I can guess,"

"It's our one month anniversary actually," I say, a proud smile lighting up my face,

"Aww that's so sweet! Well have a great time!" Sophie exclaims. We exchange goodbyes and then I rush upstairs to my bedroom to finish off my outfit. I keep my makeup natural and then begin sorting my hair again. Just as I make a start to pulling the brush through my long brown curls, I hear car rumble up along my lane, I peer out the window just in time to see Nathan's car pull up in my driveway. Damn it! Here's here already! I think to myself. I watch him get out the car and open the window and shout down to him,

"Just let yourself in! You know where I keep the key!"

Nathan looks up and smiles at me, he looks perfect, even from far away. I smile as he gives me the thumbs up and turn back to sorting out my hair. I'm so self-absorbed in making sure my hair doesn't look too wild that I don't notice footsteps padding softly up the stairs towards me, until its too late. Nathan sneaks up behind me, places his hands around my waist and leans down and whispers,

"Happy anniversary love," kissing the top of my forehead. I gasp, and in fright I stumble forwards into my mirror and Nathan loses his balance also and falls down beside me. We both gasp, frightened incase the other is hurt, but we soon realise neither one is injured and as our eyes meet we burst out laughing.

"Oh my god Nathan! You have me the fright of my life!"

"I'm sorry, but it was too tempting! I had to do that!" He says still giggling with that cheeky glint that I love, still sparking in his eyes. Nathan stands up and stretches his hand out to me, pulling me up off the floor.

"I made a cake!" I say to him, not too sure what else to say at that moment, "it's sitting on the kitchen table."

"That's great, I-' Nathan begins, his smile slowly fading and turning to worry.

"What is it? What's happened? What have I done wrong?" I ask, panicking,

"Nothing, nothing, nothing! You've done nothing wrong Hannah, it's more of what I've done wrong..."

"Why? What's happened?" I ask, puzzled,

"Erm, I've brought my friend's dog with me, I'm looking after him for a few days and I thought I'd bring him along because I know now that you love dogs, and I, uh, left him in the kitchen." Nathan tells me. Just then I realise what's about to happen and what Nathan means. Without saying anything, we both run towards the stairs, as soon as we get to the bottom we hear a loud crash echoing off my walls.

Nathan and I burst through the kitchen door, and we are met by the sight of cake, splattered across the floor with the dog, a black Labrador, greedily eating the remains.

"Oh no!" I exclaim,

"Bad boy!" Nathan says to the dog, although looking at the dog's expression I doubt he'll be able to stay angry at him for long. Nathan takes him outside while I clear the mess up. Nathan comes back in saying,

"Oh I'm so, so sorry Hannah! What can I do to make it up to you?"

"It's alright Nath, it was just a cake, I hadn't even iced it yet." I say,

"No, no I feel really bad, how can I make you feel better about it?" Nathan pesters,

"Hey, it wasn't you who demolished the cake!" I say, making a joke out of it, there's really nothing we can do... Except..." I trail off, thinking about my idea,

"Yes?" Nathan inquires,

"Why don't we just make another cake? It will hardly take any time at all and then we can do it properly and ice it!"

"Fantastic idea!" Nathan exclaims, "Alright chief, what do you want me to do?"

"You can start by washing your hands!" I say to him, showing him through to the sink, "And no throwing flour this time!" I say laughing.

We finish making the cake and place it in the oven and set the timer.

"What do you want to do while we're waiting for the cake to cook?" I ask Nathan,

"Let you know how much I love you?" He replies with a grin. We both go into the living room,

"But I already know how much you love me," I say to Nathan, smiling.

"No, you don't, I don't think you will ever know how much you mean to me, you are so special, you make my life complete. The only thing that scares me is that one day I might wake up and you won't be in my life."

"Oh Nathan," I say, "I love you so much too, I literally live for you, don't be scared of losing me, I'll always be here for you, don't you worry about me, ok?"

"Alright," Nathan says, and kisses me passionately on the lips, as I kiss him back the timer goes off and we reluctantly break away.

"I'll go and get the cake out and then when it cools we can put icing on it." I say and get up off the sofa.

Once the cake has cooled, Nathan and I begin to ice it.

We cover it in white icing and place multicoloured sprinkles on it and then Nathan writes on it in black icing: Nannah and I draw a heart in red icing. Simple, yet effective, I thought.

"It's too pretty to eat now..." I hear Nathan say,

"I'm sorry, I can't help it that we made it look so nice!" I say to him.

"Let me take a photo of it first before we cut it up," Nathan says, taking out his phone and snapping a picture. I see him typing away on his phone, and curiously peer over his shoulder at what he's doing,

He sees me and continues with what he's doing with a smile. He's on his twitter and his new tweet says,

'Happy one month anniversary to my gorgeous girl @Haannnaaahh95 .. One month gone & many more to come! Xx' and he's attached the photo of our cake.

"Are you ready?" I ask him, handing the knife over so we can cut it up,

"Let's do it together." Nathan says firmly, placing his hand on top mine, we cut down through the cake and we each have a slice.

After we finish and clear away, Nathan turns and says to me,

"So are you ready to go and party like mad?" He asks,

"What do you mean?" I ask, puzzled.

"Haha, it's a surprise, but it's coming later! I've got to go and get ready now, so I'll see you later!" Nathan says with a mischievous wink, he stands up and gives me a lingering kiss,

"I'll see you at 7," he says, slowly exiting through the door, while I'm just left standing there like an idiot, feeling bewildered and very confused.

I impatiently wait for 7 o'clock and when I finally see Nathan'a car appear at my house for the second time today, I rush outside, locking the door behind me and clambering into his car.

"Are you ready?" He asks me, once we pull up outside his house,

"Yes!" I reply excitedly, taking his hand and squeezing it.

Nathan leads me into his kitchen and turns and says to me,

"Now wait here, I've just got to go and organise something, but after a minute or so just go into the living room ok?"

"Ok! Got it!" I reply, desperately wanting to know what's going on as Nathan disappears. After the minute is up, I walk into the living room but its strangely dark, I fumble around in the darkness for the switch and eventually find it and turn the lights on. Nathan, Jay, Max, Siva, Nareesha, Tom, Kelsey, and even Sophie jump out from behind the sofas and shout,

"SURPRISE!!!

All around there is continuous showers of confetti and balloons and above the mantelpiece is a handmade banner witht the words: HAPPY 1 MONTH ANNIVERSARY 'NANNAH' !!!

I gasp with surprise, and Nathan runs over to me, sweeping me off my feet,

"Do you like it?" He asks,

"I absolutely LOVE it!" I exclaim, "but you really didn't have to go to all this trouble," I say bashfully. Nathan sets me down so he can kiss me again, then I go round the room thanking everyone and giving them huge hugs, I come to Sophie last, I'm so surprised and glad to see her here.

"How long have you known about this?" I ask her,

"Oh, quite a while actually,"

"Oh my god, all this time and you haven't said a word! You're better at keeping secrets than I thought," I say with a broad smile.

Someone starts blasting music through big speakers set up in the living room and I spend the rest of the evening partying and dancing along to the music with everyone and having the time of my life. Eventually it gets really late and we all have to go home, so Nath drives me back to my house. The snow has started to go away gradually and a light spot of rain starts up, no more than a drizzle. We sit in the car for a while, calming down from the night's events and then we have one last kiss that closes the conversation gently, and then I step out the car, my hair turning damp with the rain and I smile and wave goodbye and walk inside.

The next couple of weeks fly by and pass so quickly, Nathan and I are both back to work and we've been kept so busy. I officially typed up my interview from the day when I fell into all this madness and then I was set off to write another column and then I was emailed some more work to do from home. Just jazzing up the page with funky edits and then sending it off to the magazine editor. Nathan has also been extremely busy and we haven't had a chance to see each other all month, which is quite depressing, but we've been texting and emailing each other in all of our spare time and have even managed a few Skype calls.

Before I know it we're into April and Nath's birthday is just around the corner. Despite how busy we've all been I've been keeping in touch with the other lads and the girls and we've got something really amazing planned for the 18th of April. I can't wait.
