I wrote this poem after a day at work where I felt humiliated by the way someone spoke to me in front of other people.

4. What goes through your mind

What goes through your mind,

when you say what you did,

had 'exceeded expectations'?

How could you think that?

How does belittling me,

making me feel ashamed to be me,

ashamed of my life,

constitute and display support?

It always had to be me,

who did wrong.

It was never anyone else's fault

according to you lot.

Your couldn't admit your failings,

so you took it out on me.

One day you'll get what's coming to you.

But for now

you're through messing with me.

You won't break me twice.
