17. Family Reunion
I woke up to Laylah laying on my chest. She is so beautiful. I love her so much. I'm a mother. And I would give the world to this baby. She is my world. Her and Harry. Speaking of Harry, I felt a large hand lay softly on mine. After admiring Laylah, I looked up to see Harry smiling with tears in his eyes.
"We're parents." He said, a tear streaming down his left cheek.
"I know." I smiled. "Today is officially the best day of my life."
"Mine too, babe." He leaned over, kissing my forehead, and then Laylah's. "You two are my everything." He smiled.
"You're mine too." I kissed his lips softly, slowly pulling away. I fluttered my eyes open and stared into his beautiful green eyes.
"I love you so much, Abby. And I'm sorry for what I did with Taylor. It was a huge mistake. You mean so much to me and I can't risk losing you. Either of you." He said, looking at Laylah. "You guys are everything I've ever wanted and everything I will ever need." He layed his large hand on Laylah's head and started rubbing it with his thumb softly. He lied down on the bed next to me and started singing "Isn't She Lovely". "Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful, isn't she precious, less than one minute old." I lied my head down on his chest and soon fell back to sleep.
I lied down next to Abby and started singing "Isn't She Lovely". She layed her head on my chest and she fell asleep. Laylah was just laying there being a little princess. I took her into my arms and kissed her head. I layed my head back and fell asleep.
*2 hours later*
I woke up to Abby's phone ringing. I look at the name and it said Brittany. Her sister. I answered. "Hello?"
"Uh, hello? Abby?"
"No, this is her fiance Harry."
"What? Fiance? Since when?"
"Since the past 7 months."
"Wow, has it been that long since I've talked to my baby sister?"
"Well, nice talking to you Harry, but can I talk to Abby now?"
"She's sleeping and I don't want to wake her up. She's really exhausted."
"Didn't she tell you? She just gave birth to our baby girl. Laylah."
"Did you not know?"
"Had no clue."
"Oh. Well, I'll tell her that you called whenever she wakes up."
"Can I come visit?"
"Of course." I told her the name of the hopsital and the address.
"Okay, thanks. I'll be there in about half an hour."
"Okay. Bye, Brittany."
*30 minutes later*
A nurse came into the room and whispered, "You have company." I nodded and got up slowly, laying Laylah in her little bed the hospital had provided. I walked out to the waiting room to a short, blonde girl that looked almost exactly like Abby.
"Brittany?" I asked. I gave her a welcoming hug.
"Harry? Oh my God, you're Harry Styles."
"Sorry, I was just surprised. Can I see my sister and niece now?"
"Of course." I guided her to the room. I sat down on the edge of the bed and carefully shook Abby's shoulder. "Baby?"
"You have company." She looked up and saw Brittany standing at the foot of the bed.
"Ab?" Tears filled both of their eyes. Brittany slowly walked over to Abby's side of the hospital bed. She quickly pulled her into her arms and into a tight hug. "I've missed you so much."
"I've missed you too, sis."
"Well, thanks for telling me that you're engaged and have a baby!"
"I never really thought about it." She said, laughing.
"Oh, well. I'm here now! And don't worry, I've already contacted Bret, Courtney, and Kassidie. They're on their way."
"Oh my gosh, Brittany."
"Well, are you going to let me see the little thing now?" Abby had a confused look on her face. "You're little creature? Monster? Dang it, Ab. I'm talking about Laylah!"
"Oh, of course!" She looked over to me and I picked Laylah up carefully, cradling her small head.
"Here." I handed her to her.
"She's so beautiful. She looks exactly like her mummy. But she doesn't really look like you Harry." She said, confused.
"Oh." Tears started filling my eyes.
"Brittany, I have something to tell you." Abby said, looking down.
"Yes, anything for my baby sister!" She smiled, handed Laylah back to me.
"The baby isn't Harry's."
"Abby! You cheated on him?!" Brittany said, gasping.
"What do you mean?"
"Well, after dad died, I was really depressed. Harry said that we should go out and he went to get some clothes. I was taking a shower and.. I was kidnapped. The kidnapper kind of, well.. raped me. It took my virginity and Harry and I have never had sex. Laylah is the rapist's daughter. We just say that Harry is the father, because he practically is. He's going to be here for us and treat her like a princess."
"Abby, I-" she just stopped. "I don't know what to say." Tears started flowing down her face and she took her into her into her arms once again.
"I mean, its okay. It was a terrible and disgusting think for him to do, but it's brought me and Harry closer together and brought this beautiful mistake into my life. I'm actually somewhat glad it happened. I know it sounds stupid, but I just am."
"That's not stupid at all. You're getting married and you have a beautiful baby because of it. Sometimes bad things have good outcomes. I'm just happy I'm finally an aunt!"
"And I'm happy I'm a mother." They both smiled and there was a knock on the door. Brittany answered it and there was a tall, tan, and muscular man standing there. Behind him was a tall, skinny, brunette girl wearing an Adventure Time t-shirt. Standing beside her was a young girl, maybe about 12 or 13. She was small and had short blonde hair. Tears filled all of the family's eyes and they walked to Abby, group hugging her. "I've missed you all so much."
"We've missed you too, Abby." The older girl said. I'm guessing that's Courtney.
"I want to see my niece!" The younger one who must be Kassidie, said, running to me. "Hi, I'm her sister, Kassidie. nd you are- oh my God. You're Harry Styles."
"Harry, I just want to tell you that I love you. You are so amazing."
"Thank you so much! You seem pretty nice yourself." I smiled.
"Abby!" She yelled.
"You never told me that you're getting married to Harry Styles!"
"I haven't talked to you. Blame that on your mum."
"Hey! Don't talk about-"
"Shut up!" Brittany yelled at the two of them. "We're here for Abby and Laylah, not Harry. No offense." She said looking at me.
"None taken." I said.
"Whatever." Kassidie scoffed. She turned to me again. "Let me hold her!"
"Sure." I carefully placed her in her arms.
"She's so cute!" She smiled.
"I know, she looks exactly like her mum."
"Yeah, but Abby's not cute!" She laughed.
"Oh shut up, you pest." Abby said. Kassidie handed her back to me. Her other sister, Courtney walked to me. Abby was a perfect mix between her and Brittany. She had Brittany's face, but Courtney's hair and body.
"I'm not going to freak out because you're Harry Styles or anything. I'm going to freak out because I'm an aunt!" She smiled. I smiled back and handed her to her. She whispered to me and said, "Brittany told me what happened to Abby. And I just want to thank you for being there for her through it all. I can tell that you're going to be an amazing father."
"Thank you. And you seem like a great aunt!" I smiled.
She smiled back and said, "So, how long have you and Abby been together?"
"10 months on the 11th."
"I'm so happy for you two. Me and my husband have been together for 8 years."
"How old are you?"
"23. We've been together since I was 17. We met in high school."
"Yeah, he's pretty great. We just got married 4 years ago though. We've been talking about kids, but I'm not quite sure I'm ready yet."
"I felt the same way when I first found out, but as every day passed by, I got more and more excited. And now here I am in the hospital room with my soon to be wife and 3 hour old baby girl. I'm speechless."
"Yeah, I can tell you're going to be one of those overprotective dad's that calls their daughter a princess."
"She is a princess. My princess. And Abby's my queen." I said, looking to her. She was so happy and was catching up on things with her other siblings. "I wouldn't trade it for anything else in the world."
"I'm glad you feel that way. Nice meeting you, Harry."
"The pleasure is mine, Courtney." She layed Laylah back into my arms and walked over to the bunch, telling her brother to come see the baby. He seemed pretty protective of Abby. He walked over to me with a straight face.
"So, I take it that you're Harry."
"Well, I'm her brother Bret."
"Nice meeting you." He still had a stern look on his face.
"You better-" he started laughing. Cracking up. "Oh, I tried to be serious, but I just can't." He laughed some more before shaking my hand. "Ha, nice meeting you too, man."
"For a second there, I thought you were going to kill me."
"Hahaha, no. I tried to look like it though. I got you." He smiled. I smiled back. "Well, let me see the little rascal." I nodded and handed her to him. He started making baby noises and tickling her stomach lightly. "Man, she's perfect. You're lucky."
"Yeah, I am. Really lucky."
"I heard what happened and I just want to tell you that I think you're just right for my sister. That was great what you did. I mean, staying with her and all and proposing."
"Yeah, I just felt like the time was right. But I just don't feel like I've done enough for her. She deserves way better than me."
"Man, you guys are perfect for each other. Just look at the way you look at each other. You have the most adoring look in your eyes. Like you just saw Jesus or something. You all seem to really be in love."
"Yeah, we are. I just feel like I should've done more for her after all that she's been through."
"That's the thing about Abby. She'll go through Hell and back and not show a single weakness. She's one of the strongest people, mentally and emotionally, that I've ever met."
"Yeah, she is. I remember whenever we were little, we would wrestle and she would always win. I told her I let her win, whenever I actually tried."
"Yeah, she's a tough one. You know how she got away from the rapist?"
"She knocked him out with a single punch, then jumped out of the back of the van and broke her entire leg, all the way up to her hip. I didn't see her shed a single tear."
"Wow. You know, it was me that told her she should take the boxing lessons. She won every single one of her matches my knockout."
"Yeah. Well, it was nice meeting you, Harry. You seem like a cool guy. We should hang out sometime." He gave me Laylah.
"Sounds great, man. Nice meeting you, too." I smiled.
"Treat my sister right." This time, he had a real serious look on his face.
"I promise." He shook my hand and returned to his family, saying it was time to leave. They all said their goodbyes to us and left. I layed Laylah back down in her bed.
"I needed that." Abby said.
"I need this." I said, kissing her very passionately on the lips. She gripped my hair tight and let out a quite moan, but I pulled away quickly.
"What's wrong?" She asked.
"Doctor said no playtime for six weeks."
"Ugh, fine." She layed her head down. I kissed her cheek.
"I love you, Abby."
"I love you too, Harry."
I couldn't possibly be any happier.
