1. ✨ Rena Sky
Everything happens for a reason, right? I mean everything that happened over the course of my life was for a reason, a reason that lead me here where I am today.
"Rena?" A voice says.
I look over at Tracey, the crowd's screaming suddenly blocked from my ears. Music starts to play and flashes of cameras come from every direction. Feeling everyones energy in the stadium, ready to feast their eyes on me. They where here to see me.
I inhaled deeply and smiled at her.
"I always am."
The crowd starts to chant my name as I walk towards the black sliding screens, the only thing separating the stage and I. Looking at the floor, I take the mic in my hands and move my toes around. I'm still looking down when the screens start to open slowly, spotlights all on me. The screaming went up a notch as the screen parts father and father, revealing the girl behind it. I look up slowly, the lights blinding me for a second before I take another breath, taking this all in. This is my life. A smile breaks across my face as a familiar tune comes over the speakers. I hear the crowd screaming my name again
Rena, Rena, Rena, Rena...
~1 year earlier~
I still remember my childhood crystal clear, as if it just happened yesterday. But of course whenever I thought of my childhood, I thought of the him. Especially the last day I talked and saw him...
Taking out the school books, crumbled papers, trash, and whatever else was in the backpack, I set them to the side of me as fast as I could, afraid that Justin could walk in at anytime and catch me in the act.
Once the bag was empty, I grabbed the inside and turned it in side out. Then rushed to put everything back in. When I finished, I leaned back to adore my work, then remember he could walk in the door any second. With that thought, I ran back to my seat, picked up a book, and waited for my prank to be discovered.
Justin had the biggest smile on his face when he walked into the classroom. Then he saw his bag.
"Aw man!" He said. I couldn't help but smile at my little prank, especially when it meant that I won the prank war.
Mr. Fields came in right after and saw Justin's bag too. I guess he had it with the pranks this week because he exploded with anger all over him.
"Alright, WHO DID THIS?!"
My smile went away as quick as it came. Oh snap.
"WHO DID IT?!" Mr. Fields yelled again. I Glanced over at Rosey, who was watching me with Justin's bag. She was looking back at me with a look in her eyes that said "you say it or I will."
I sighed knowing that Rosey would tell on me if I did admit to it. Looking down at my desk, I slowly raised my hand.
Mr. Fields just closed his eyes then said "just read until its time to go home."
I slumped back into my chair and focused on my book for about 10 seconds before my eyes shifted over to Justin, correcting his bag. He looked up and smiled over at me. He then mouthed "I'll get you back for this."
I rolled my eyes and pretended to read my book until the school bell rang. Today was the last day of school, and the first of summer vacation.
Everyone had already cleared their stuff from their lockers but I never bothered until the last day. Kids were trying to get their way towards the schools front doors to be freed of these hallways and classrooms for 2 months.
I took my time clearing my locker and by the time I finished, the halls were pretty much dead except for a few other students who did the same as me. I walked down the hallway and found Justin at his locker down one of the other hallways. I whistled then waved at him. He looked at me then smiled his big joyful one. I started to walk towards the front of the school, ready to get out of there.
"Hey!" Justin said behind me.
I looked back and saw him running down the hallways trying to catch up with me. "Hey Juju." I said. That was my nickname for him.
"Wow I can't believe school is already finished." Justin said
"We'll I'm relieved it is." We walked out of the schools front doors and walked towards the school buses.
"So I heard you did good at that singing contest." I said. I had no idea juju was able to sing at all.
"Yeah, second place." He responded.
"Some are even saying you sounded like an angle."
"A good looking angle that appears in your dreams every night!" Justin kidded.
I laughed then said "yeah, that won't happen. Ever."
"Ok so what do you call a red headed ninja?" Justin asked.
I thought about it then responded "a skilled redheaded?"
"Nope. A ginja!" I raised my eyebrows as my smile came.
"Hey, it's my best material" I shoved him playfully then said "my bus." He turned towards me as I studied him. Dark blonde hair, butterscotch eyes, clothes a little too big on him, slightly shorter than me, and the big smile.
"I almost forgot." Juju pulled out a card. He handed it to me and I read it.
Happy early birthday Rena! :)
Hope you enjoy your special day turning 13 and have a blast this summer!
Your right handed man,
I smiled down at the card and gave juju a hug. I then walked on the first step on the bus before turning around.
"Thanks juju! See you around!"
"Bye Rena!" He waved at me as I pulled myself up the other steps before sitting down in my seat. I looked out the window and saw Justin walking inside his bus.
I wish I said more to him that day, but nobody knew that would be my last day to see him. That summer, my parents in Canada past away which lead to my sister and I moving to America with my mom's sister, Kylie. She lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico and was 24 when she took us in. My sister, Ronnie, was only 9 and I was 13. We got use to the way the American people's system worked. I actually found hobbies, in which I was really good at. It was performing and entertaining. Not like acting or anything but dancing and singing. I'm 17 now, about to turn 18 in a week. Summer break started about a week ago and we planned on going to California for the entire summer to visit Kylie's other sister, Ann.
But right now I have to focus on packing because we're leaving tomorrow.
I folded my shorts neatly and placed them on top of all my other pairs in my suitcase. So far, I packed socks, underwear, shoes, essentials, shorts, a towel, and makeup. Now to start on shirts.
I walked across my light green room and into the walk in closet. I took off shirts from their hangers that looked decent and brought then to my bed where I would fold them and place them into the bag.
But I was interrupted when Ronnie barged in my room.
"Ahhhhh!" She screamed.
I looked at her like she was crazy but she didn't seem to notice.
"I finally got Justin Bieber's new perfume!" She squealed. I flinched at the name but kept my form together.
"And your telling me this because...?"
"It smells so heavenly that you gotta try some!" She showed me the heart, purple bottle that held the perfume. I examined it then said "why not." I held my wrist out for her to spritz some on me. When she did, I smelled it then let out an "ah"
"Like it?" Ronnie asked.
"Not bad but I personally like Someday better."
Ronnie shrugged then sat down next to my suitcase.
"When is tammie gonna get here?" She asked. Tammie is my bestfriend in the entire world, and was invited by Ann to come with us to Cali for the summer.
"In about an hour." I said.
"Awesome." I looked at Ronnie and admire my little sister. She had medium dark brown hair, a tanned color skin, blue/grayish eyes, thin lips, athletic body, and she reached about my nose, which wasn't a huge difference in height.
"Anyways dinner is ready." Ronnie jumped from my bed and walk towards our kitchen. I set down my shirts and followed her.
