As Harry continued to drive I braced myself to the seat, because his driving was well...not so great. I sat there in the passenger seat staring out of the window. Every now and then I would see Harry open his mouth to say something but instead he would just let out a sigh. I didn't even bother to turn on my camera, because I already had a feeling that it got ruined by the rain. I don't even know why I bothered to go there and look for it. Deep down I think I wanted Harry to have been there. I don't why I keep wanting to see him.
"What is wrong with me?" I blurted out not realizing I stopped talking in my head.
"Well maybe it's the shoes." Harry said showing his big goofy smile."
Embarrassed I quickly tried to steer away from yet again another awkward moment. I turned on the radio and one of my favorite songs was playing on the radio. Ho Hey by The Lumineers. "I love this song." I said turning up the volume. "Really?" Harry asked. I didn't answer his question because I was already singing the song.
"Love-we need it now. Lets hope for some, cause oh we're bleeding out." All of a sudden Harry joins in and starts singing as off key as I was. " I belong with you. you belong with me, your my sweetheart!" Harry sang. When the song finally ended for some reason we couldn't stop laughing. 'We sounded terrible." I laughed out.
"Well I think we just found our song." Harry said. Two minutes ago this was my favorite song. Now it's our song. What was he trying to do kill me? Out of nowhere I started to hear birds chirping. "It's Louis do you mind if I take this?" Harry said.
"It's fine go ahead.
"Hello?" Harry said into the phone.
"Harry! Where are you? We've got that party to get into in an hour and you just disappeared. Are you still messed up about that girl Zayn told us about?" Louis said. I looked up over to Harry and his face was turned beet red.
"She's in the car and your on speaker." Harry said.
"Oh hello girl in Harry's car." Louis sang. I leaned towards the phone to speak. "Hi." I said quickly.
"So what are you two couple of chums up to?" Louis asked.
"I'm dropping her off at her hotel." Harry said. Louis made a funny sound before he spoke again. "You cheeky cheeky lad." Louis said. "Who is cheeky?" Asked someone who sounded a lot like Liam Payne. "Harry is taking a girl to a hotel. Louis told the person.
"Again i'm just dropping her off and Marilyn can hear you." Harry said frustrated.
"Oh her mane is Marilynnnnnn ." Louis said as he dragged out my name. "Alright goodbye." Harry said getting ready to end the conversation. "Just don't be late to late to the party!" Louis yelled before Harry hung up. "Sorry about them." Harry said while tossing his phone in the back seat.
"Its okay Aria can be just as embarrassing." I said not noticing I just compared her to Louis and Liam.
After having to listen to a conversation that was tad bit awkward Harry parked along side the Hotel. "Thanks for the ride." I said as I un buckled my seat. "No problem." He said. We sat there in the car and just stared in opposite directions. I was starting to think that this weird silence thing was going to be our thing.
"So this is the part in the movie where I say I will call you and you would say okay. But I don't have your number and I have a feeling you don't want me to have it." Harry said.
"Now we are in a movie?" I asked.
"Yes." He smiled. Gosh! I really wished he would stop smiling because its making it really hard for me not to like him. Now I'm just staring at him. Why can't I stop staring at him. I mean he is okay looking. I should say something. I should stop talking in my head. "Well I should get inside. Don't want you late for that party." I said opening the car door. "So i'll see you tomorrow then?" He asked just as I close the door.
Harry got out of the car as well and leaned up against it. "Hmm I don't know I have to been with my class tomorrow." I said.
"Sad face and I had a really good escape plan." Harry said.
"And it might have just worked." I said sarcastically. "Goodnight Harry." I said walking up to the hotel entrance.
"Yeah?" I said turning back around.
"The other day back at the diner you never said what you thought about me?" He said. I looked at him with a blank look on my face. "I'll tell you, but I have to ask you a question first." I said.
"Okay I have an answer." He replied. "Why do you care what about what I think?" I asked him ignoring the people who were watching us from a distance.
"Even though I have only known you for about two days. I really like you and I would like to get to know better before you go back to the states." Harry said. For a second I didn't know how to respond to that. I kept trying to get rid of the feelings I had for him. Because maybe I was just another star struck fan.
"Fine we can hang to until I leave. Then you go back to your life and then I will go back to mine in Florida. But ....if you really want this to work you have to watch The Notebook and Never been Kissed with me." I smiled.
"Alright then it's a date." He said getting back into his car. I watched as he drove away and I was still standing outside. And did he just say date?
I walked inside the hotel and as I was headed towards the elevator Aria came charging at me. "Where have you been?" She asked sounding not to pleased.
"I went looking for my camera." I told her.
"Umm then where is it?" Aria demanded. I hadn't even thought about my camera. After all it was useless now. "I must've left it in Harrys car. When I said the words Harry and car Aria's eyes lit up.
"You were with Harry this entire time?" She asked her mood slightly changing.
"Yep." I said.
"Oh." She said her mood going back to angry. "Well while you where with Mr. I have a gorgeous face. Mrs. Shaw came in the room to do a head count and guess who was missing?" Aria asked.
"I totally forgot about that. What did you tell her?" I asked her frantically.
"When I heard it was her I ran in the bathroom to turn on the shower. So I told her you was in there and she bought it." Aria said.
"Thank you." I said letting out a sigh of relief.
'You owe me one Parrish." Aria said. Just as thought this night was about to come to an end I see Mrs. Shaw walking towards us. "Uh-oh." I said nervously.
"Big uh-oh." Aria said standing beside me. Mrs.Shaw was standing in front of us more like towering over us. "And where have you been Marilyn and please spare me the shower story." She said. I didn't want to tell her another lie nor did I want to tell her where I have really been. What would that sound like Sorry Mrs. Shaw but your right I wasn't in the shower. I was out with a boy whom I just met a couple of days ago. How would that sound. Sadly enough the truth was going to come to out where I wanted to or not, because Harry was coming through the door.
"Marilyn it's a good thing I came back so fast. You left your camera in my car." He said holding up my camera. Mrs. Shaw kept looking back from Harry to me. I was a little afraid of what she might say. And from the look on my face Harry could tell. "Excuse me but are these two girls in some sort of trouble." Harry asked my teacher. She herself looked speechless.
"Oh...umm." was all she could really get out. "Sorry if I kept her out too late but when I found out my childhood friend was coming to England I just had to see her. We have been friends for a really long time and I rarely get a chance to see her." Harry said.
"Oh I certainly understand. I mean with you busy schedule and all. " Mrs. Shaw said smiling at Harry. Oddly enough I was impressed but mostly shocked that it worked.
"Since you said you understood. Do you mind if I pick up Marilyn tomorrow. My mum would love to see her." He said wrapping one of his arms around my shoulders.
"Not at all and tell your mother that she gave birth to a very handsome young man." Mrs. Shaw said .
"Thank you Mrs..."Harry trailed off.
"Call me Emily." She said now practically flirting with Harry. To be honest I was starting to think she didn't have a first name. Even the other teachers called her Mrs. Shaw.
"As for you two it's passed curfew and you should be in you rooms." She said returning her glare to Aria and I. I turned around to tell Harry goodnight but instead I mouthed Thank you. "Come on you two can stare at each other tomorrow." Aria said pulling me towards the elevator.
It didn't take us long to get to our room and got ready for bed. In no time I was soundly asleep. My eyes fluttered open when there was a knock at the door. I looked at the clock that was on the nightstand and it was 2:00 in the morning. I closed my eyes again because I thought who ever it was might go away. I was wrong. Another knock came followed by a guys voice. "Marilyn it's me Nathan. I really need to talk to you." He said. It took all of my strength to want to get out of bed, because I was final getting comfortable. I walked over to the door and Nathan was leaning inside the room.
"What do you want Nathan?" I yawned.
"I have to just know. Is something going on between you and that Harry guy?" He asked.
"Why do you want to know?" I asked him.
"Its just when I finally get up the nerves to finally ask you out. I saw you earlier today with him." He said dreary. I didn't think there would ever come a day where I would hear Nathan say that. I have liked this guy for a really long time.
"I don't know what to tell you." I said.
"Say nothing is going on between you and him." He said. I didn't want to say that nothing was going. Because I wanted to give Harry a chance. "I don't know. Maybe." I said.
"So your not sure? That means there's still a chance." He said.
"I'm not going to lose so easily Marilyn. I still have a chance." Nathan said just before he walked down the hallway. What on earth was I getting myself into. I quickly shut the door and climbed back into bed. Again just as I was going back to sleep. The knocking started up again. Now I was getting annoyed. I got up and I flung open the door . "UGH! Can't it wait til the sun comes up?" I asked not knowing that it wasn't Nathan, but Harry.
"No this can't wait." He said as he pulled me in to kiss him. And he was absolutely right. This couldn't wait.
