Kay was asleep in my lap. Her head was laying on my legs, she had one knee lifted up while the other dangled off the edge of the couch.
She had fallen asleep in the middle of watching The Little Mermaid.
I smiled and pulled out my phone, taking a picture of my Sleeping Beauty.
I slipped my phone back into my pocket and kissed her forehead, messing with her hair.
Her chocolate eyes fluttered open and she smiled at me.
"Morning, Harry." she whispered.
"Morning, sweetheart." I whispered back, "How'd you sleep?"
"Amazingly." she answered, chuckling.
I smiled and leant down, pecking her bright pink lips.
"Do you wanna go to the beach, Har?" she asked me.
"Anything for you, babe."
She smiled and got up to get dressed.
Apparently, Louis and Ashlyn had the same idea. They were going to the beach as well and Louis was going to teach Ash how to surf.
About a minute after Ashlyn came downstairs, Kay came down.
She was wearing a simple teal blue bikini, cream sandals with teal straps, an anchor necklace, and small heart earrings. She walked downstairs, pulling her beautiful dark hair into a ponytail and slipping on a white coverup.
"Ready?" I asked her.
She nodded. "Let's go! I'll grab my surfboard off the dunes-"
"Actually, I think we should just take a nice walk, yeah?" I cut her off.
"Oh. Ok!" she answered, cheerfully.
Kay and I walked hand-in-hand along the shoreline, the water washing over our feet every now and then.
I stopped when I saw a very small starfish washed up in the sand.
I smiled, picking it up. It wasn't moving, signalling that it was dead.
It was still beautiful though.
I reached up and placed it in Kay's dark hair.
She smiled. "Thank you."
"Anything for you, sweetheart." I pecked her lips, then smirked.
"What.....?" she asked slowly.
In one swift move, I picked her up and flung her over my shoulder, running towards the water.
"HARRY! PUT ME DOWN!" she yelled, laughing.
"No can do, love." I answered, throwing her into the water.
She surfaced, laughing.
"Jerk....." she said.
I laughed then realised something.
"Kay? Love, didn't you have on an anchor necklace a minute ago?"
Her eyes went wide and she touched her neck.
"Oh no...." she whispered, looking around in the water.
I swam over and helped her look. Not one trace of it.
A tear ran down her cheek and I pulled her into a tight hug.
"Awe babe, it's alright." I whispered, rubbing her back.
"No, it's not. My dad gave that to me a year ago. I've always worn it to the beach. And now it's gone." she sobbed.
I kept rubbing her back and I kept a strong hold around her body.
She pulled away, wiping away a few stray tears.
I thought for a second, then reached around my neck, looking for the clasp of the object around my neck.
"Here, love. You can wear this." I said, clasping my paper airplane necklace around her neck.
She looked down at it. "Harry.....I can't take this. It's yours, not mine."
"Yes you can, Kayla. It's yours now." I whispered, tucking a small strand of loose hair behind her ear.
I pecked her lips. "Now the whole world will know that you're the love of my life."
She blushed a shade of crimson.
"I love you, Kayla."
"I love you too, Harry."
