The next morning Holly got me out of the house early to go with her shopping. It was her birthday and she needed a dress for her party tonight, I already had her present all wrapped up at home, but I needed an outfit myself. We walked around different stores, looking at various clothing items. Within a few hours we had bought more than we anticipated. Myself buying a few tops, a dress and and new pair of heels. And Holly buying more than ten items. We went back to mine to get ready for tonight. We were going out to a Italian restaurant that Holly's boyfriends, family owned and then we would head out to the clubs later on.
We arrived at 6, Holly with her boyfriend, Antonio and myself with Matthew. We ordered our food and talked about various topics. We all gave Holly her birthday presents and she almost cried, she loved the pearl white necklace I gave her. We all seemed to be having a good time. Before we knew it was 9, time to hit the clubs! I couldn't wait, if there's one thing me and Holly like to do, is get drunk and have a good time. On the way in the car, Holly and I awkwardly got changed into our dresses in the backseat of the car, while Matt drove and him and Antonio chatted in the front. Once we were finally dressed we began to touch up our makeup. We arrived at a club, it was new to the city. But from what we had heard it had a awesome vibe.
"This place is amazing!" Holly shouted to me from the middle of the dance floor. "Heck yeah!" I replied. Antonio shoved through the crowd and excused Holly from me for a moment. I nodded and smiled as he lead her away threw the crowd. I wondered where Matthew was so I decided to go search for him. I walked around the club, no sight of him. I gave up and decided to get a drink at the bar. I sat down and asked the waiter to pour me one of their best cocktails. I threw a quarter of it back, letting my mouth absorb the bitter-sweet flavour. I kept sipping on my cocktail as I spun around to view the crowd. It was then that I saw someone I never expected to see. I quickly turned back around and placed my drink quietly on the bar top. My heart was racing. 'What do I do?!' I thought to myself. 'Just stay put, maybe he didn't see you.." I thought again. I kept on sipping my cocktail, nervously. I didn't want to turn around in case he was looking me.
".. Liss-..Felicity..?" I heard a sweet voice ask me. I felt my stomach tie itself in a knot. I didn't want to look up but I did. "...Louis?" I asked, pretending to be surprised.
"It's you! Lissy!" He said happily. I couldn't help but smile at the look of surprise and excitement in his eyes. God he looked attractive. His hair was pushed back into a messy quiff. He was wearing a blue, button up shirt and a dark pair of pants that were rolled up at the ankle. I could decide whether they were dark blue or black in this light, he also wore a pair of white toms on his feet. I didn't really know how to handle this situation. Should I stand up and hug him or run away? Louis sat down on the bar stool to face me, he was still smiling gleefully. I continued sipping my drink.
"I can't believe it's you!" He said ecstatically. I smiled at him again. ".. I've been trying to get in contact with you for ages!" He added,
"Hi" Was all I managed to say. I mentally face palmed myself, did I really say 'Hi'.
He just laughed. "I've missed you," He added.
I almost wanted to cry. "I've missed you too," I whispered. I choked back the tears.
"C'mon," Louis said, he stood up and took my hand in his. He lead me away from the bar into a more secluded area. We sat down and faced each other.
"How come you never answered my calls or messages?" Louis asked me. His facial expression changed from excited to more serious, and thoughtful.
I froze. What the heck do I say? Oh because I love you and you don't love me so ignoring you seemed the best strategy of getting over you. "Um.. You seemed busy, I mean look at you, super famous and all.
He looked at me strangely. "You thought because I was busy I wouldn't need you anymore? That's absurd. I need my best friend,"
I sighed. "Well, you have Harry, Liam, Zayn and Niall.. And you have Eleanor.." I said.
"None of them are you.." He said.
I looked down. I felt really bad.
"Anyway, none of that matters, I've finally found you and I'm not letting you go this time!" He said confidently.
I felt a smile warm my face as he said that. I started to get choked up and before I had time to push back the tears, a single drop had already slipped down my cheek. Louis looked at me with a soft smile on his lips. He gently reached over and wiped the tear away. He then stood up and pulled me into his arms. We hugged tightly, my head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat in perfect motion. Everything about him was so perfect and I loved him just as I had those years ago.
"What's going on her-" I heard Holly's voice call out. Me and Louis broke apart from our hug and I turned to Holly. Her jaw had locked open.
"Look who I found.." I said. She quickly smiled at me.
"Louis, I've heard a lot about you!" Holly said, moving over to us.
"You have?" He asked, looking at Holly then glancing at me. I just shrugged innocently.
"Oh yes, anyway, I came here to tell you Felicity that we are going to another club now, if you want to join us, or not.." She said cheekily.
Then I realised I was forgetting about someone. "Uh, firstly, where's Matthew?"
"Oh yes, he headed home. He got hit in the head by some over intoxicated, freak dancer and got a headache so he went. He said to tell me to tell you goodnight and he'll see you tomorrow." Holly said.
I nodded. "Oh no, poor Matt.." I said.
"Yeah, well, we're going.. Catch up if you want!" Holly said, giving us a quick wave goodbye and heading off with Antonio in the direction of the exit.
I turned to Louis and shrugged. Not sure what to do.
"Who's Matthew?" Louis asked me.
"Uh.. He's my.. Boyfriend.. Matt's my Boyfriend.." I said.
"Oh.." He said with a blank expression.
"Speaking of that, isn't Eleanor here with you tonight?" I asked Louis, suddenly wanting to know the answer.
"No, she isn't.. I'm guessing you found out about her, simple enough I suppose.. There isn't much privacy in my life anymore.." He said.
"Do you want to get out of here?" Louis suggested.
Louis and I ended up at a 24-hour diner. Talking about the old times. It brought back so many memories. I felt really happy, I felt as if our connection was back and nothing else in the world mattered. We talked for what seemed like minutes but were actually hours and before I knew it, it was 12.40 in the morning.
"Oh wow, it's late.." I said.
Louis looked at his watch, "Shit. That went quick.."
"I'll drive you home," Louis added.
"No, it's fine, I'll just get a cab," I said protesting, but it wasn't much use, Louis' mind was made.
"No way, c'mon, let's go."
Louis walked me up to my apartment door. We stood in the narrow hallway, unsure of what to say.
"Do you want to come in?" I asked.
"Yeah, sure." Louis said,
I unlocked the door and walked inside with Louis behind me. "This place is just as perfect as I remembered.." He said quietly.
I smiled. "I love it here.." I said.
Louis turned to look at me. "Tell me the truth Lissy."
"What are you talking about?" I responded although I knew quite well what he was talking about and my heart was sinking while my stomach was tying itself into knots.
"You know what I'm talking about.." He said stubbornly.
"I.. Uh.." I was useless. I had to just tell him.
"I had to get away from you." I said straight out.
He looked shocked and then confused. "What? Why?" He asked,
"Because I loved you too much!" I said louder. I was getting too worked up, I could feel myself starting to tear up again.
"But.. I loved you too.." He said.
"No, not like way I loved- love you." I said.
He paused for a moment and took a deep breath.
"Lissy, I do love you. I have since I met you all those years ago.. I knew I needed you in my life.." He said softly.
I didn't know whether to grab him and kiss him or to start hitting him.
"But.. You dated those girls.. You never told me!" I said loudly.
"I was afraid!" He responded, raising his voice to match mine.
".. Of what?" I asked quieter.
"Of messing our friendship up.."
I took a deep breath and walked over to the couch. Louis followed me over but stood looking out the window, facing away from me.
"I was going to tell you.." He said, his back still turned.
"You were?" I asked. He turned to face me.
"Yeah, the night of our birthday's when I gave you that necklace."
I reached up to my neck but then realised I had taken it off when I began dating Matt.
"I was going to tell you that night too.." I said quietly.
He looked at me, his expression full of mixed emotions. Mine most likely looking the same.
I stood up and walked over to him. "I'm sorry Louis, I'm so sorry that I shut you out.." I said, tears forming worse in my eyes, budging at each other to fall.
Louis looked at me contently. I expected him to say something but instead he just crashed his lips to mine. It was unreal. He was kissing me.
He then pulled away, looking for my reaction. I was blank. But then I found my words. "Louis.." I whispered. "Eleanor.. You have a girlf-" He cut me off by kissing me again. This time I kissed him back. I began pulling him towards the couch. I fell back onto it and Louis rested gently over me, our lips not leaving each others once. We kept kissing while we both slowly took different items of clothing off. His shirt, my dress, his pants, my stockings, my bra, his underwear.. My underwear. He quickly looked at me for a moment. " I love you Felicity. I always have and I always will.." He said sweetly. I smiled widely. "I love you too..". He then pushed his lips hard against mine again.
