I lay on my bed but I immediately react when I hear the door, downstairs, open. Cheers and drink glasses clank. Harry is home and now celebrating his party. I’m really glad for him but I’d rather avoid him right now.
Where is Axle? Why isn’t she down here? To be honest, I’ve been in love with her since I met her. Sure I was young then but the feelings never went away, they just become more massive, and I need to tell her. But where is she?
He must think I’m a horrible person, just sulking up here. Will is in love with me and I am mutually in love with him, but then I was also starting to feel something for someone else. At first, I thought it was just the normal feeling of loss when I realized Harry was going away. But now, I realize it’s something more, and I’m afraid of it.
Maybe she’s up in the rooms? I don’t wanna be rude and just walk up there, to check on her, but I needed to. I excuse myself from downstairs. I walk up the stairs at stop at our room. I quietly open the door and I see her. She is sitting on the window ledge.
I swing my legs in and out, taking in the coldness of the air, appreciating it. I don’t think anyone ever takes just one minute, to really think about how beautiful and peaceful the Earth is. Even if it is built to kill you one day, that’s if you don’t die normally.
I turn around.
“Axle?” I call out.
She turns around; staring at me emotionless, before swinging her legs back in. she glares at me, like I hurt her. Had I? I don’t think so.
She walks towards me, snapping harshly, “Don’t you have somewhere to be, Styles?”
I glare back, “I dunno, do I? What the hell crawled up your bum?”
She stops pacing the room, staring at me.
“Oh, I don’t know,” I throw my hands up angrily. “My best friend is leaving and he doesn’t even care how it affects me. It’s like you don’t give a damn.”
He takes a dangerous step towards me. “I do care,” He snarls.
I scoff, “Hardly. Will cares more about me than you have, since we met.”
Harry moves so quickly, he is standing right in front of me, his hands gripping my arms. I squeak at the sudden pain, but stand stock-still.
“Harry,” I finally cry out. “You’re hurting me!”
I come back to reality, realizing I’m standing in front of her, gripping her arms really tight. She squeaks and cries out against me. I shake myself, letting her go. I watch her rub her arms for her comfort.
“Sorry,” I mutter, turning away. “I’ll just leave.”
“Wait!” She yells, stopping me in my tracks.
I turn around, glancing at her.
She bites her nails, “Don’t leave Styles, please.”
“Why should I stay?” I fire back.
“Because…” Why did I want him to stay? Oh, right. “I miss you; I don’t want to lose you.”
He laughs softly, “You’re not anywhere close to losing me.”
“But I am, dammit!” I throw my hands in the air. “You’re going away, you’re going back to those four lads and you won’t be here. I thought we had a deal, you would show me a world where Science didn’t apply to things, there are still 11 months to go before this ends.”
He gently touches my cheek, and I flinch against the touch, but I don’t move away.
“I am teaching you though,” He whispers gently, gazing into my eyes. “Science didn’t put me through to Judge’s Houses. It didn’t…make me fall in love with a girl.”
My heart breaks, “You’re in love with a girl?”
He nods. “But she doesn’t know it.”
“Did you meet her at the X Factor?” Axle whispers sadly, looking away.
“Who is it?”
“I’m sure you know, Axle.”
“No, I really don’t, Styles.” She mutters, hanging her head.
“Maybe this will clear things up.”
And then I lift her head up, gently cup her head in my hands, and softly press my lips against hers. At first, nothing, but soon enough there is something.
I kiss back, harshly, I needed him. I was so blind, oblivious to his feelings. Sure, Will loved me, but I honestly didn’t love him like that. Harry was something else. He knows everything about me, there is nothing I can hide from him. He is my other half.
He wraps his arms around my waist, lifting me up, forcing me to wrap my legs around him. He walks us over to my bed, in the corner, and lets me fall against the sheets. But he soon places his lips back on mine, hovering above me for a minute, before we both fall into the mess of sheets.
