9. Gone for the Week
I woke up on the couch at home. The last thing I remembered was sitting by the fire on the beach.
"Look who decided to wake up?" My mom called from the kitchen. I rubbed my eyes and tried to figure out how I managed to end up here. "How did I....?" My mother understood what I meant and answered, "Niall brought you home last night. He said you fell asleep after eating a giant hamburger. Do you mind explaining what he mean by giant hamburger? It better not mean something dirty!"
"No mom, it's not dirty. I really did eat a giant hamburger."
"Okay, whatever floats your boat..."
I rolled my eyes and went upstairs. My cell phone was still in my pocket. Of course, 1 new message.
'Hey, hope you're feeling okay. I gotta go up to New York for a few days, but I'll be back soon. Don't do anything fun without me! XxxNialler'
Right as I finished reading, I got a call from Kyle.
"Hey weirdo." He said as soon as I answered.
"Lilly, Sam, Ben, Chris and I are going over to the beach to play volleyball later. Wanna come? Or are ya too busy with your boyfriend?"
"Kyle, he's not my boyfriend!" I kind of wished he was, but I would never admit that. "And he's in New York. I'll go, but you know I'll kick your ass in Volleyball."
"Ha! You wish!"
"Prove it then! See ya there." I hung up. We always teased like that. I took a shower, changed, and went down to the beach.
Everyone was already there waiting for me. Lilly ran up and hugged me, and Sam followed suit. Lilly was Kyle's girlfriend (the one who Kyle barely ever acknowledged in public). Although it seemed like it was a sparkless relationship, they really did care about each other. Lilly had long, blonde hair and a tall, slim figure. She could easily be a supermodel. Sam had long, pitch black hair that she always kept in a ponytail. Her eyes were extremely blue.
"Alright, lets get going. I wanna beat Kyle to a pulp in as little time as possible. I still hadn't had anything to eat since I woke up." I said, taking the ball from Chris and serving it. I was pretty good at volleyball, so I had an advantage over some of my friends.
"Alright I give up..." Kyle said, putting his hands up. I laughed, high fiving Lilly and Sam.
The rest of the week I spent on manicures, face masks, and anything that I needed to catch up on. No call or text from Niall.
