"Come inside, I'll show you around." Ed smiled his cheeky smile and popped open the door to his mansion of a house. I peeked my head inside and saw the most beautiful house I'd ever seen. The walls were a golden brown, all of the furniture matched, and even the curtains fit in perfectly. The giant living room was overwhelming, yet warm and cozy at the same time. I felt at home already.
"Don't be shy, come on now. Let me take you to your new room." He turned a corner and led me up a spiral staircase with a brass banister. We walked through a long corridor and stopped at the last door on the left. "Here we are, your room." He opened the door and looked at me to wait for my reply to the beautiful space that was in front of me. It was sophisticated-black and white with French wallpaper and a giant Eiffel Tower painted on the farthest wall from my bed. The comforter matched the wallpaper and the fuzzy black rug begged me to step on it barefoot. My jaw drops.
"It's beautiful, Ed. Who did this?" I look at him and he's staring at the floor. He looks up at me.
"Just me. Don't worry about it, it was fun." I look up at him and give him a big hug. This is the best sibling ever. And I thought I was lucky being the only child, ha.
We finish unpacking within a matter of a few hours. After this my dad and new mom leave the house to go on a dinner date, which leaves me and my sibling alone for the night. As I'm exploring my new house I pass by Ed's room to see him on his laptop video chatting with someone.
"Who are you chatting with?" I peek my head around the corner and ask. He tells whoever he's talking to to hold on a moment and turns to me. "Wanna meet my pals tonight Livie?" He asks. I felt it would be awkward but I agreed and nodded at him anyway. He motions his head for me to leave the room and I do as he says. I walk back into my own room and sit down on the bed. He comes in a moment later and waves his hand for me to come with him.
"Liv, have you ever heard of the band called One Direction?" he cocks his head to the side and continues walking towards the garage where his silver Volvo awaits us. I shake my head no, and he looks at me like I've gone absolutely bonkers.
"What?" I say in reply to his stunned face.
"You live in Britain, yet you have absolutely no idea who the most famous band here is? You're nuts." he tilts his head back and laughs, opening the door to his car and starting it up. I get in as well and listen for him to say something more about how crazy I am.
"Harry Styles doesn't ring a bell? No? Niall Horan? Louis Tomlinson? Zayn Malik? Liam Payne? You've got to be kidding! That's who we're headed to see now, so be prepared for the paparazzi. Not to be cocky, but all six of us boys combined can make for a big crowd here in London." he switches on the radio and his own song, The a Team, comes on. He blushes and quickly changes the station.
"What are you doing?" I switch back the station, but he's not giving up just yet. We argue over the station until I finally win. "I'm not missing one of my favorite songs." he grunts and puts both hands back on the wheel.
"I don't like listening to myself sing." he mumbles. He is amazing. I can't believe he would even say that.
"Please, Ed. You're famous, fairly good looking, and an amazing singer. And you don't want to hear yourself when you're on the radio? I would give anything to be on the radio." I stare out the window at the bright-lighted city and quietly sing along. Ed sings too.
"You're not so bad yourself. We should sing a song together." he nudges my shoulder as we pull into the parking lot of a large flat. As we step out of the car and Ed locks it, we're pulled into the bushes suddenly. I make out our attacker as a fairly attractive male with curly brown hair. He has bright green eyes and a cute nose.
"Harry! What the hell are you doing?" Ed shouts. I can hear his heart beating fast.
"Shh! Ed, you're ruining the excitement! Can't you see I'm saving you from the paparazzi?" He giggles quietly and motions us to crawl slowly into the front door. "Come along now," He grabs my hand and pulls me along. I can't help but notice how incredibly large his hands are, and warm too.
We finally get inside and Ed is attacked by four other boys. One is blonde with braces and has baby fat still on his cheeks, another has sleek brunette hair and is wearing a navy striped shirt with red pants, the next one has slightly curly brown hair (not as severe as the boy called Harry's) with a little birthmark on his neck, and the last is tall with shiny black hair that has a blonde streak in it. Now that I take a closer look, they're all extremely attractive.
"EDDDDDDDD!" They scream, pushing him to the floor. When the dog pile breaks up he gets up and hugs them each one by one.
"Livie, meet Harry (bush boy), Niall (the blonde), Louis (stripes), Liam (birthmark), and Zayn (big black hair). These are my best mates! The ones from One Direction. And guys get this, she has never heard of your band before." They all turn their heads and stare at me, once again, like I'm crazy.
"Uhm.. well, that's alright. You'll learn in time." Harry smiles at me and his big dimples show. This makes me blush and I shiver.
"You cold, love?" Niall walks over to me and gives me a big bear hug, rubbing my arms to get them warm. I blush too much.
"Alright, alright. That's enough flirting with my sister for one ni-"
"Are you kidding me? You've only seen the half of-" Niall starts to say, but Ed smacks him on the back and makes him cough. We all laugh and move into another room that has a flat screen practically taking up the entire wall.
"Call of Duty, anyone?" Zayn offers, pointing to the Xbox sitting on the floor.
"You're on," I challenge, and all the boys look at me.
By the time it's 11:00 at night I've beaten them all at least twice. "Well?" I say, a bit of cockyness in the back of my throat. "Who's the one that said girls can't play video games?"
They all just look at me and don't say a word. That'll shut them up for a while. I couldn't help but notice Liam kept eyeing me throughout the couple of hours I'd been there. "Let's put in a movie," he says. He gets up and slips Love Actually into the DVD player.
"Oh boy, my favorite!" Harry exclaims. "I call sitting next to Olivia!" he practically jumps into my lap and all the other boys groan. I can almost hear Liam mumble "lucky" to himself. A quarter of the way through the movie I feel a head fall onto my shoulder. I look over at Harry and all I can see are his curls all in a bunch. The soft purr of his snoring makes me sleepy. I can't help but let my eyelids fall and put my head on top of Harry's. Soon everyone else in the room was asleep as well and all I could think was I could get used to this.
