I woke up on a Saturday morning, and looked at my iPhone, 7:33. Ugh, why am I up so early? I decided I couldn't go back to sleep, so I went ahead and got ready for the day. I picked up my phone and went into my bathroom across the hall. I looked into the mirror to see what I had to work on to make me look presentable. GROSS. My brunette hair was knotted into a messy bun, I struggled to get my hair ties out, finally I did, and I tried to brush through the ratty mess, but there was no use. My bright blue eyes were puffy from not sleeping much, I was up most of the night because I felt like something bad was going to happen. My pale skin was paler than usual. I decided I would take a quick shower. I turned on the water to let it heat up, and stripped off my clothes. I washed my hair with my new apple scented shampoo. I love the smell of apples. I washed my face, and quickly shaved my legs, and got out. I wrapped a towel around my petite body, and a towel around my head, so my hairs not dripping wet. I looked at my phone to see if I had any messages from anyone, I figured I wouldn't, but I checked anyways. 7:44, that was a quick shower! I picked out my outfit for the day, and fixed my hair into a messy bun and french braided my bangs back.
Who could be calling me this early in the morning? Probably my mum...She's never around, and she only calls if she needs to "borrow" cash from me. I smile and look at my phone, "Sexiest best friend everrrrr ;) aka Liam" I smile at the long name, Liam had put the name under his contact just to annoy me because every time I try to call him, I always look under the L's because I forget he changed it. I decided to pick up before it went to voicemail.
"Hey...Taylor..." I heard Liam through the other line, he sounded nervous in a way, I knew something was not right, but I shrugged it off.
"Hey Li! What's up?"
"N-nothing. Well, I kinda wanted to talk to you. It's important" I got butterflies in my stomach at this, maybe he was finally going to confess his undying love for me after all these years.
I could only wish, I've been in love with him for about 4 years now, ever since I was 12. We've been best friends since we were 4, but I never really admitted that I had those feelings for him. I started thinking about Liam, and all we've been through, completely forgetting that he was still on the phone.
"Taylor?" Liam's voice snapped me back into reality.
"Yes, sorry, I'm here. Do you want me to come over?"
"Actually, I'd like to come over to your flat instead, if you don't mind?" Wow, he never wanted to come over, maybe he was going to tell me that he loved me. Oh shut up Taylor, and quit your dreaming. He's your bestfriend, he doesn't think of you like that.
"I don't mind one bit, Liam. When are you coming?"
"Let me put on my shoes, and I'll be right over." I panicked, my room was a mess, and normally I wouldn't care, but if he's going to tell me that he loves me then I need to clean!
"Ummm ... Yeah, okay. Take care your time." Trying to sound calm.
"See you soon, Tay." And the line went dead.
I started running around trying to clean up my room as fast as I could. I picked up all of my clean clothes that I haven't folded yet, and through them in my closet, promising I would fold them later, and slammed the door. I rushed over to my bed, making it, so it didn't look trashy. I threw my dirty clothes into my green hamper that was hooked on my closet door. I look around my room, and I was satisfied with my quick cleaning skills. I layed down on my bed, and checked Facebook to see what was going on.
Oh shit. Liam. My heart started beating fast, I was so nervous. What would I say back when he said that he loved me? Well Taylor, you would obviously say you love him back, duh. I ran to my living room where the main door was. I put my hand on the door knob, and took a deep breathe. Well here goes nothing. I opened the door to see Liam wearing blue skinny jeans, a plain red jumper. He looked hot, he always did, but red was definitely his color.
"Hey Taylor" Liam walks in and wraps his arms tightly around my waist, hugging me, I put my arms around his waist as well, considering I was too short to put my arms around his neck. I felt my heart skip a beat, but I ignored it."It's been a while since I've been inside of your flat. You never want me over because of your mom... Is she here?" He said as he looked around my living room. This was true, I never wanted him here while my mom was, she was always so rude.
"No, she's never here anymore, but what did you come here for? You wanted to talk to me?"
"Yeah, I need to tell you something important that I've been wanting to tell you for a while now." That you love me? Shush Taylor, keep calm. He starts to walk over to the couch, before he could sit down, I quickly say, "Let's go to my room!" I cleaned my room for him, we might as well go in it. "Alright." Liam said as we walk down the hallway into my room, I sit down on my bed, legs crossed, as he slowly sits down across from me. It was silent for a bit, until I spoke up. "Soo.. what did you have to tell me?" This was it. He was finally going to tell me he loved me, then we could be together.
"Taylor... There's no easy way to say this, so I'm just going to say it." Oh my goshhh. Here it comes. Okay, Taylor, keep calm, keep calm, I kept telling myself. "I'm auditioning for the X-Factor again, and I think it's best if we stop hanging out, and talking. If I actually make it on the live shows, we're never going to see each other, and I'll be wanting to see you everyday when I can't. I'm just trying to do what's best for both of us. I love you sis, we've been best friends our whole lives, but I'm sorry. This is my career we're talking about. This is what I want to do with my life. But if I don't make it on the live shows, then we can go right back to being best friends. Just me and you, like it's always been." Tears filled up in my eyes, and I could feel my heart break. I cannot believe he just said those words to me. I didn't want to see him anymore. "Get out." I told him, wiping the tears from my eyes, but at the same time trying to hold in some more. "What?" He said with a confused look. "I said. Get. Out." Can he not comprehend? "Taylor, it's not supposed to end this way, we're supposed to hug, and you say 'I understand, good luck with your career, I don't want to get in the way of it!'" That just blew me over the edge, I was now pissed, but still about to cry my eyes out. I didn't really want him to leave, but my anger took over. "GET THE FUCK OUT NOW, LIAM. I NEVER WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN!" I shouted, still trying to hold back tears. "You don't mean that." He said, he looked hurt. "Oh, but I do. Leave, Liam. Now." Now he was the one that was crying, he nodded his head, and got up from my bed. he started to walk out my bedroom door, and turned around and said "Good-bye Taylor." And with that, Liam left my flat, I bursted into tears. I can't believe what had just happened. I wanted nothing more for Liam to come back and hold me in his arms and just say that he was kidding. But I knew that wouldn't happen.
From this day forward, I promised myself that I would get as far away from Liam as I could. I hated him. But yet, I still was in love with him, and I couldn't hide it, no matter how hard I tried.
*END OF FLASHBACK*
After One Direction got put together and they started to get really big in the UK, I couldn't stand hearing Liam's name. So I moved to America, in the state where there's not much to do, the lovely state, Ohio. I didn't know anyone, so I was ready to start my life here, at age 16. I asked my mum's mum for money, since she had loads, and she gladly gave me money for a one-way ticket here, and enough money to get started here in Ohio. I wanted to get into a decent University, so I put an application in for Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. I got accepted, and I was put in a dorm with another freshman. Her name was Jessie, and acted just alike, but our appearances we're a lot different. She had blonde hair, that fell just below her shoulders. I still had my long brunette hair. We both had the same color eyes, and I was still pale as can be, as for Jessie, she had really tanned skin. We became best friends instantly. We only needed each other. She was a big fan of One Direction, but I told her everything about what happened to me with Liam, and she understood completely. She never brought them up during those 2 years. We were both graduated from college, and now we share a three bedroom apartment in downtown Columbus, it was pretty big for just the two of us.
Me and Jessie are still trying to find good jobs, but for now, we work in a mall's coffee shop. It's not much, but it pays rent. We both worked the same hours every day, every week, We worked every day from 8-4, but we got our Saturdays off. I drove with Jessie, early Sunday morning to go to work, as Jessie was flipping through radio stations trying to find something good on.
"AND LIVE WHILE WE'RE YOUNG...." Jessie stopped looking as her phone vibrated, she looked down at her phone, probably to tweet. "Anddddd that was One Direction, singing their new single Live While We're Young. It's crazy to think how far these guys have came in the la--" Jessie turned the radio station quickly. "S-sorry Taylor" At least she changed it. "It's fine Jess, don't worry about it." She kept flipping through stations, her phone vibrated, and she stopped at a station, most likely to tweet once again."ONE DIRECTION WILL BE PERFORMING AT THE NATIONWIDE ARENA IN COLUMBUS THIS TUESDAY, JUNE 18." I slammed on the breaks, and Jessie looked at me with a scared look on her face, afraid to squel, fangirl, or even say something to change the subject.
I had to face the fact that I could never get away from Liam Payne, no matter how hard I tried.
