9. A New Beginning

Libby's POV:

"I am soooo excited for school to be out already, then we can graduate, and then I can go see One Direction!!!!" I squealed, sometimes I just can't help it, this was one of those times. Cosette rolled her eyes and swung her arm around my shoulder, steering me in the right direction, towards 7th period Psychology.

"Well you're quite in luck Libs, last day for seniors is tomorrow! Then we can be free to do what we want for the summer! I think I need to work on my tan." Cosette frowned and stared at her arm. I laughed, this girl was going to be brown before she knew it. She just tans so fast. We walk into Psychology and take our usual seats in the front row, right next to each other. There was a buzz in the air, from the excitement of no more high school after this period and next period.

"Alright class settle down, the bells about to ring." Sure enough right after Mr. Hansley said that, the bell rang. "Today we will be going outside and playing some games, I advise you to bring your things, because we will not be coming back to the room." Once we gathered outside Mr. Hansley told us that for the rest of the class, we would be playing mingle. It's pretty much a game where the caller calls out a number and you have to get into a group of that many people. If not, you are disqualified. Mostly people ending up falling over or being tackled. What a way for saying good-bye. Our game started and people were already being tackled. Finally it was down to three girls and two boys.

"Three!" Mr. Hansley shouted. I grabbed Hanna and Cosette, but the boys were trying to drag Hanna away. Cosette and held her arms, but Jason came and grabbed her by the hips and pulled her away. We all laughed, but Mr. Hansley disqualified Jason and John for manhandling. By the time we finished our third round, the bell rang signaling 8th period. We groaned, but made our way up the hill and back into school. Cosette and I walked to the foreign language hallway and separated. Cosette went to German and I went to French. I sat through the next 43 minutes doodling, then there was a crackle and the loudspeaker came on.

"I would like to say thank you and congratulations to the graduating seniors, we are all so very proud of you and couldn't ask for a better class. Good luck on your next adventures." Everyone could hear the tears in Mr. Goodard, the principal's voice. Then the bell rang. I ran out of the classroom and Cosette ran to me giving me a huge hug.
"I can't believe it! No more school!"  We screamed and jumped up and down. After calming down, we walked to our lockers, grabbed our bags, and headed to the doors.

"Hey Libby! There's some people heading over to my house later tonight wanna come? You can bring Cosette if you want to." Derek was staring at me with intent.

"Alright I'll come, what about you Co?"

"Yeah ok." Cosette smirked at me.

"Oh nothing, it's just Derek has liked you for sooo long and finally has the guts to ask you, even though he's a popular. Libs, he was totally smitten." I blushed and pulled open the passenger door.

Cosette's POV:

"Which one should I wear? The black instantly strapless dress or the pink masquerade sequin corkscrew ruffle dress?" Typical Libby using the actual names of the dresses in her announcer voice.
"The black one, it goes better with your hair. I'll wear the pink one." After changing and putting on silver sparkling heels, I grabbed my silver clutch and handed Libby her black one, Libby grabbed flip flops, and we walked to her car.

"Hold up, where do you two think you're going?" Elle looks at us with her arms crossed.

"We're going to Derek Huffington's house for a party he's throwing for graduating seniors. Don't worry, we'll be back by three." I kiss my step-mom on the cheek.

"You better be back by three or you will be grounded missy." I shake my head and walk out the door and to the car.

The party had already started by the time we got there. Libs and I walked through the door, and saw lots of girls wearing dresses, lights flashing, and music blasting. I smiled at Libby and pulled her in.

"Well, well, well, you two have seemed to look amazing as always. Libby, may I have this dance?" Libby smiled, grabbed Derek's hand and was lead into the living room to dance her little booty off.

"Well look who decided to show up, Cosette, you look ravishing." I felt my cheeks blush at Ryan's comment. He wrapped his hands around my hips and guided me to the dance floor. We started dancing then the girls got really slutty and started lap dancing guys. I saw Derrick lead Libby upstairs and a bad thought came to mind. I shook it away before Ryan noticed.

"I didn't know you were such a good dancer Ryan." He smirked then leaned forward and whispered in my ear.

"That's only one thing I'm good at." He grabbed my hand and led me out the back door and down to the bench by the lake. Derrick's family was rich and lived on big land and the lake had come with it. He wrapped his arms around my waist and again and turned me towards him. At first he teased me by lightly brushing my lips, and face, then he started kissing me harder, and I kissed back, hoping against hope that this would only be kissing. He trailed his hands up and down my torso and rested them in my hair. My hands were wrapped around his neck. His tongue was prying my lips open, so I opened them and our tongues collided and it all just felt right. He pulled away slowly and planted soft kisses on my cheek. I leaned against him and we cuddled watching the stars and the occasional couple going into the woods to make out.
