30. I Always Have and I Always Will

Lorraine was really upset about leaving this morning. Last night was amazing and I thought that she would be buzzing and really happy, but the thought about going back to London and back to school has just brought her down. Everyone is here, at our apartment, and everyone is really happy to be together, for one last time at least until Christmas as that’s when Felicity is moving over to London. Nicole and Audrey are coming over to London with us tomorrow. Audrey is moving in with Zayn to his own apartment which is just down the road from our apartment complex, the Halltown apartments. Nicole is moving into the spare room in Leah and Lorraine’s place as she is already studying in London to become a teacher. Her friends Madison and Freya are studying in Manchester, but have promised to keep in contact and to come visit us whenever they can. Felicity is the only one not coming as she can’t drop out of her studies until after her exams at Christmas. Here in France, exams are before Christmas as usually in England, your exams are a few weeks after the Christmas break. So, Felicity will move over after her exams to London to continue her studies in Law and English instead of Law and French. Liam is a little upset about that and has already made plans to come visit her on weekends. As for Lorraine, Leah, Harry and I. We just continue living our lives in London, studying as hard as ever! (well, sometimes) and having fun! (that’s what we do best).

After breakfast (well, Lorraine’s breakfast because she woke up later than the rest of us) we decided to spend the day together, all ten of us, at the Champ de Mars park, just in front of the Eiffel Tower (Madison and Freya couldn’t make it as they had already flown back to Manchester the previous night). We brought a picnic with us as well. It was a perfect day, the sun was out and there was a cool autumn breeze. We dumped all our stuff at one of the picnic benches just by a little pond that had ducks swimming around in it. It was only half twelve by this time and we all decided to split up and go do a little last minute shopping. We were to meet back up at the bench at 2 for some lunch.

I decided to cheer Lorraine up by bringing her to a little bakery I had found when Harry and I went shopping for our outfits just yesterday. It was a 5 minute walk from the Champ de Mars park, but yet again it didn’t feel like it as it was hidden away under many beautiful oak trees which were easily 100 years old, blocking the view of the Eiffel Tower. The long cobbled stone street was very quiet and you could hear the birds chirping away above us as I held Lorraine’s hand and lead her into the shop. It was also a cafe. We sat down and both ordered a cup of coffee and a pastry that was just fresh out of the oven. Looking into her eyes, I somehow knew that Lorraine was the very special girl that had a very special place in my heart. Through all our ups and downs, we have still managed to overcome our difficulties, which they say is a big factor in a strong relationship.

“Baby, the past week that I have spent with you has been one of the most amazing weeks ever of my 21 years on earth. Being with you just makes me so happy, no matter the circumstance, no matter the rain, snow or hail. No matter the day and the night, the arguments and the fights. I just know that I want to spend the rest of my life with you”. I got down on one knee, only to look up at a tear filled Lorraine. “Lorraine Maria Eleahnora Kelly, do you promise to marry me? When the time and place is right?” I asked her, never being so certain about anything else in my life, not doubting or regretting my decision. “Yes, yes Louis. I love you so much” she replied between sobs. I slipped the promise ring which I bought her onto her finger and brought her up into a huge hug, spinning her around the cafe. There was a sudden applause from the few customers and staff that were watching. “I love you so much, Louis William Tomlinson. I always have and I always will”.
