Endlessly (A One Direction Love Story)

Anika has always been friends with Liam Payne. She forced him to play with her dolls when they were little, saw him in the front row at each of her dance recitals, forced him into the car for hours while she drove to auditions, and made him critique her every move at the studio. But two years ago, she sat backstage as her best friend sang his heart out for the second time. But this time, instead of coming home after two weeks, he was gone. For good. Liam and Ana still spend every waking hour together, but things are different. Niall and Ana are spending every waking hour together, and Liam's jealous. Will it be the classic story of the best friends who are meant to be, or are Liam and Ana destined to be... just friends?

22. Clubbing

"Are you coming with us or not?" Ana asked through the darkness. Harry was waiting by the door to our shared room while Ana was trying to convince me to sneak out with them and go clubbing. She only asked me because Harry had woken me up and so they kind of had to. I sighed.

"No, I guess not. Just... don't have sex, you two." I said in a mock tone. Ana snorted.

"As if. You're choice, Horan. But if you tell anyone..." She said. I snorted this time.

"As if." I replied. In the light trickling in the window, you could see Ana was wearing a tight dress with a low cut top and dark makeup. She looked so good... "Fine." I said as she was walking to the door. I made Ana and Harry wait by the door while I changed out of my pajamas into dark jeans and a tee, and pulled my Wayfareres and Supras on.

Ana giggled as she pulled Harry and I out the door. I more than anything just didn't want Ana to be with Harry. Not touching Harry, not dancing with Harry, not kissing Harry. I wanted her all to myself. I had to make it get through her head that we were still meant for each other. We hopped in Harry's car and drove off, turning the radio on a couple of blocks from the house. It was kind of exciting, sneaking out when the parents of the house (El and Lou) forbid us. We pulled up at a club at th edge of town, and Harry and I flashed our IDs to get into the VIP section. Instantly, Ana dragged me to the bar.

"You're Irish, you know your beer?" She asked. I smirked and nodded.

"I know more than just my beer, sweatheart." I teased, and ordered us a few shots. Ana was clearly a lightweight. She was already a little tipsy after the two shots, and I knew she wouldn't like me getting her too drunk. Ana dragged me off to the dance floor while Harry started talking up some girl. After dancing for a while, I knew I needed to stop. Ana was just too... perfect. And I couldn't resist. She was also pretty drunk considering she had two shots, so I pulled her with me to a booth where I ordered her a water. I kept my arm around her shoulder and tried to keep her off the dance floor, but she really wanted to dance.

Ana was really a wild child who had never really known it until she stopped tying her bun to tightly. She danced all night, and the eyes of every guy were on her. She was the center of attention, lighting up the room. And she loved it. I smirked at the guys who tried to pick her up, buy her drinks. It kind of made my heart race like crazy knowing I was the only one who was taking her home, and maybe that's exactly the way she wanted it. It was four when a guy really started to hit on Ana, and we'd been here nearly two and a half hours. I walked over and slipped my arm around her waist.

"Sorry, she's mine tonight." I said, smirking at the guy and pulling her with me. I tracked Harry down and told him it was time to go. He kissed some girl and then followed us out to his car. He had opted not to drink anything and was our designated driver. Ana was messing with my shirt collar the whole drive back to Liam's, chatting on and on about how much fun she had. She was clearly not drunk, but drunk on fun. She loved everything about this life, getting to do whatever she wanted. We turned off the lights and pulled silently up to Ana's estate. Ana went first, tip toeing barefoot to the front porch while I held her shoes. She peeked around the corner and came sprinting back to the car.

"Louis and El are asleep on the porch swing." She breathed. Oh, shit. "Butttt, lucky for you two I did a little sneaking out back in the day." Ana finished. I grinned. She just kept on surprising me. Ana grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the window beneath her room. Harry followed, but when Ana started climbing the siding he shook his head.

"I think I'll risk the back door." He said, and jogged off. I watched Ana's every more, her thin legs as she stepped from rung to rung on the lattice covered in ivy. She pulled herself up onto the window sill and pulled a small key out of the siding, which she used to unlock the large, sunset windows. She swung the window open and climbed inside. After a moment, she peered out the window at me.

"Are you coming or what?" She asked, smiling at me. I grinned and tossed her shoes up through the window, and then climbed up exactly the same way she had. When I finally pulled myself in the window, Ana hid the key in the siding again and pulled the window shut. "Harry's not gona have any idea where we are, you know." She breathed. Her face was perfectly outlined by the moonlight shining in the window. I tried not to want to kiss her, but when I did it was like all I had ever wanted, all night since we kissed in the kitchen. It was almost like I had Ana back... but not quite.

"Ana, I want to get back together." I said, pulling away. Ana nervously shook her head and shoved me out the door to her room.

"No, no." She said like earlier, and then closed the door in my face.
