3. The Show and What Are They Doing Here?

Sofia's POV

I finished getting dressed and couldn't help but look at myself in the mirror for a little bit. I knew that we had to hurry up, but I wanted to make sure that I looked good!

I first looked at my clothes, which consisted of a black crop top, white skinny jeans, and black TOMS. I frowned a little when I realized how much black I was wearing, and how it sort of flushed out my light complexion. Though I had dark brown eyes, which were nearly black, and long brown wavy hair that flowed gracefully to my waist, my not-so-tan skin tone kind of threw off the whole look. Then something else hit me: with all that black on I was bound to sweat. We were going to play on a little stage on the beach, so wearing black was a really dumb idea. I shrugged to myself, muttering, "YOLO," under my breath.

Then I heard one of the stalls open and saw Mari scurrying out. Well, it looked that Mari made the same mistake. Sort of.

She looked at me, panic clearly in her eyes. "Help me, please!" She said while practically running towards the mirror. I guess from all the falling and getting hit, she landed in the sand quit a lot. Due to that, her head was covered in it, and it made it look like she had a really bad case of dandruff. I picked out as much sand as I could, while she ran her fingers through her hair to try and break all the knots.

After we got out as much sand as we could she turned to me face me, still looking a bit worried. "How do I look?" She asked while fixing her shirt. She was in her usual get-up, nothing fancy really. She had on a white shirt with black horizontal stripes, dark denim skinny jeans, and black converse. Her naturally tan skin, brown eyes, and shoulder length dark brown wavy hair tied it all together.

I gave her the most reassuring smile I could. "You look great like always. Now lets go!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her to where we were supposed to preform. I could already tell we were late, because the man who pulled this altogether was standing on the set looking quiet upset.

Mari's POV

When we got there, I saw Sofia's microphone and stand all set up and ready to go, and my violin case was set neatly on a stool. I looked up at the man and knew we were going to be in trouble. "I'm really sorry we're late! It's just we ran into some trouble, and -"

"Save it," he said, cutting me off. He glanced at both of us before looking back at me. "Just don't expect to get payed." And with that he got off the stage and walked away. Damn it!

Without saying another word, we hoped onto the stage. While she went through a couple of mic checks, I started to tune my violin. With all the humidity on the beach, I would have been more surprised if it was in tune. After I finished I looked at Sofia and nodded. We were going to do our usual playlist.

"Hello Manly Beach!" Sofia called out smiling. Some people looked up, but most of the people continued to mind their own business. That didn't stop her from going on of course. "Well, today we're going to be starting off with Crazy, Fun, and Wild."

Sofia POV

When we finished our first song we got a standing ovation! Well, they were already standing since there weren't any seats, but they were clapping and whistling like crazy! I went to Mari and whispered with ton of excitment in my voice, "We are doing phenomenal! We have them in the palms of our hands." Then we backed away from each other and I turned toward the crowd. "And that was Crazy, Fun, and Wild! Now, there are two more songs that we will be  performing, and for the final song someone from the audience will be able choose it," I said with a little too much enthusiasm in my voice. The crowd cheered at the news and I glanced at Mari, both of our smiles getting wider. With that we nodded to each other in sync and started our second song.

The second and third song were a breeze. After the second song the crowd cheered and clapped all the way up to the beginning of the next song. When we finished our third song people started to cheer again, but this time it didn't feel like it was for us.  In fact, I found it kind of weird how the only people cheering were girls, and that the cheers were more like high pitched squeals. All the girls started running to the back of the crowd and formed a circle over what seemed like two regular people. I glanced at Mari, and saw her placing her violin on the floor. She then climbed up the stool and looked towards the crowd.

When I saw her face turn pale I knew something bad was happening. I rushed over and helped her down. "Are you okay? I looks like you just saw a ghost!" I looked at her questioningly as she looked at the ground, her color coming back.

"They're back," she muttered under her breath and lifted her head back up. She looked at my face, frowning before she spoke again. "Louis and Liam are back."

I looked at her, confused. "So what? How is that going to affect what we're doing?"

"Well, they've already messed up our so called 'crowd'." She turned and faced our crowd, and I could feel heat rising up my face. All the girls were swarming around them, making way too much noise, while the boys seemed to loose interest and continued on with their day at the beach.

I angrily went up to my mic stand and jerked my mic out of its holster. "Oh, look! It seems like Louis and Liam from One Direction came to join us!" I said sarcastically, pointing at the huge group. No I heard me. I gripped my mic harder and said ever louder, "How about you guys come help us with our last song?" With that everyone shut up. They looked at me, and to the boys. I could feel Mari staring right at me, probably ready to hit me.

She walked up to me and gently took the mic. She positioned herself so she looked straight at the boys. "Yeah boys. Why dont we, Live While We're Young." With that the crowd went berserk, and the sides of her lips curled up into a smile. "Well then, Lets Live While We're Young girls.Take it away." Louis said giving us a look that says this should be intersting.

"Don't mind if we do." I turned to Mari and noded and we started to perform Live While We're Young.

Mari's POV

We finish the song and everyone is going crazy, but the only reaction I cared about was Louis's and Liam's. As I searched the now bigger crowd I finally found them. I couldn't help but smile and my cheeks began to hurt. There is only one word to describe their faces: shocked. They were absolutely, positively shocked; and I loved it.

I looked at Sofia, and I could tell she was loving it, too. "Thank you! Thank you guys so much!" She said into the microphone as the people continued to clap and whistle. I walked up to her, putting my right arm around her shoulder while using my left hand to point to where the boys were. We both waved at the boys as they continued to stare. Sofia then playfully stuck her tongue out and winked at them. They both seemed to chuckle at that and they slowly started clapping. We then turned to each other, both of us beaming with joy. Best. Day. EVER.
