The Lone Flower

This is for a contest.

1. The Lone Flower

The wind whispers in the deserts ear

Dances the tango with the sand

Ruffles a lone flower's petals

Detached, they soar to new heights

Touching the clouds and tickling the air

The sun shoots beams and misses

Angered, he gets the sand to join in

The wind refuses the invite

Defeated, the flower bows down

Pity is all the wind has for him

He cries because the flower can't

Replenished, the flower rises with strength

He gathered his bearings and sang,

"The LORD is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him. (Exodus 15:2)"
