Take You

"I could take you home..." I whispered in her ears, our cheeks touching softly. She scooted away slowly, bunching her eyebrows together in confusion, finally nodding with no choice...

50. Just One Miracle

Chapter forty six

I felt a vibration in my pocket, signaling I recieved a message on my phone. I took it out, realizing it was actually call from my mom. I declined it, leaning my back against the bench. I have no absolute idea why my ass was still waiting in the cold for Bethanny. Wait, scratch that. I know why. Because I love her. Love bites.

I looked up to the heavens, pleading to God for another miracle if it wasn't too much to ask for. He's done it once, with my discovery on Youtube. He's done it twice with Bethanny. What could a third time do?

A gush of wind blew across my face, burning my skin from its freezing temperature. I looked down, shaking. My lips quivered against eachother. I swear I could hear my teeth clashing together one million times per second. I swallowed, getting up from the bench; my blood rushing down to the bottom of my body.

I squinted my eyes, trying to see what was a cross the street from me. It was a coffee shop that just happened to be closed. I sighed, walking around for a while, trying to circulate my blood. I came close to the edge of the curb, where beyond it was a frozen river.

I tapped the frozen water with my foot, feeling nothing but ice, or so it seemed. I finally stepped onto the river with both feet, gliding across it. I felt free, and liberated. Like I could just skate away and not return. Not come back to the place where I was hurt the most since I was just old enough to understand life.

I brushed the thoughts out of my mind, stopping to realize how far away I was from the deck spreaded across the river. If I fell, I wouldn't be able to swim back. It would snow, and I would freeze to death. No, it probably wouldn't snow. It hasn't snowed since two thousand and ten. Why would it snow today?

Both my feet slid back, reaching closer to the grass near the deck. I sang softly to myself, the only song that reminded me of Bethanny. ''Don't get me wrong. You know you're right. Don't be so cold, we could be fire. Tomorrow we go. Let's start tonight. You know what it's all about.'' I sang softly, coming to stop as I kept gliding to land. ''Baby, señorita, ma chérie. Please be my little lady. My little lady. Mi amor, you're the one I adore. Come on be my little lady, my little lady.'' I continued, skipping to the bridge.

It felt as if I wasn't even getting closer to the grass and I was just swifting no where. My heart pumped faster, trying to send blood in every direction of my body. I didn't even notice how un-careful I was, stepping on the ice like it was solid cement. My ears awakened after I'd heard a few pieces of ice crack.

I ignored it, trying to calm myself down. Then again, the ice cracked more but this time louder than before. I looked down, seeing cracks spreaded out in front of me, behind me, beside me, and below me. I gulped roughly, slowly stepping larger steps.

I asked for a miracle, and all I got was myself falling into the frozen water.
