Take You

"I could take you home..." I whispered in her ears, our cheeks touching softly. She scooted away slowly, bunching her eyebrows together in confusion, finally nodding with no choice...

30. I Could Take You Home.

Chapter twenty seven ❤

''Justin. You know those big machines they have with sick people at home like your great aunt? They're going to do that with Bethanny. I mean, if she's just going to wake up then that's not going to be a problem. The doctor will give us the medicine for the road and we'll leave tomorrow morning. God, I had to do so much begging.'' he said, checking his phone.

I snatched it out of his hand, annoyed at the sight of it. I know he was my manager but he didn't need to be on the phone all the time. ''Sorry I just.. That's great. I'm on my way to see her.'' I said, handing the phone back.

Scooter rolled his eyes, and went back as normal. I jogged to the elevator, stepping inside feeling the walls wrapy tightly around me. I sighed deeply, digging my fingers into the palm of my hands. There were about four other people in there as well. I smiled, pushing the tenth floor.

A lady next to me held her gaze with mine. ''I'm sorry it's just, my daughter would love to meet you but... can you sign this?'' she asked, holding out a piece of paper. ''Or can we take a picture? She won't believe it's really you.'' she squealed lightly.

I chuckled, fixing my hair. ''Of course.'' I said, smiling. She held her phone in front of us, clicking the button. I saw the flash, and smiled with teeth. ''Thank you so much!'' she said, as I heard the elevator ding. ''My pleasure. Excuse me.'' I said, walking out. My eyes scanned the room numbers, seeing Bethanny's.

''Hey baby.'' I greeted as if she would hear me. But she probably did because the doctor had said she could be hearing us at this very moment. I leaned down, kissing herhand softly. It was cold and stiff, but she was still perfect to me. I looked at her face, thanking God in my head that she wasn't in a coma. That she would wake up soon and life could go on.

I moved a strand of hair out of her face, and kissed her forehead, letting my lips linger in position.

I heard footsteps behind me at the entrance of the door, scaring me. I saw the doctor in the way. ''Hey Justin.'' he said, holding a clipboard with his hand.

I nodded, turning away. ''How's she doing? When are ya'll going to give her the medicine?'' I asked, feeling clingy. ''It's hard to say.'' he said pausing. I wrinkled my nose in confusion.

''But you just told us she would wake up.'' I replied. He shook his head, making me frown. ''No, I said with the right medication. We don't have that yet.''

My heart sank down deep. ''How long would it take with the medication?''

''At least three days. Max.'' he finished. ''So you have no medicine?'' I asked, trying to get the facts straight. He nodded. Tension mounted between us. ''What kind of.....what kind of hospital is this!?'' I asked. ''You're supposed to be prepared for everything! What if a zombie virus comes in? What are you gonna do?'' I said, getting up from the chair I'd seated in.

He opened his mouth, ready to speak but I stopped him. ''Nothing, because you don't have the right medication.'' I mocked. ''Justin, it's not like that.''

''So what you're doing is guessing? Is this a game to you? Is she your little pet for show? She's not a lab rat!'' I yelled, clenching my jaw together.

''Woah, woah, woah. What's going on here?'' Scooter barged in, seeing me inches away from the doctor. I ignored him, and fled out the room, going to the bathroom. I splashed some water on my face, soothing myself. Maybe I was too harsh. I mean, he did say Bethanny's disease or condition was rare and not really seen. ''Justin, calm down. He's doing the best he can.'' I spoke to myself, staring at myself through the mirror.

I turned open the knob of the door, and headed straight to Bethanny's room. Scooter and the doctor were talking to eachother. ''Sorry for firing up.'' I said letting them both know I was there. ''Don't mention it.'' the doctor replied, smiling slightly.

I sighed, feeling relieved. I looked at Bethanny. She looked peaceful and calm. She was a sleeping beauty. Her chest slowly rose up and down at a steady pace. God, how I wanted those lips on mine. How I wanted her to wrap her hands around my neck. How I wanted to kiss her neck and make her giggle. But pretty soon, I'll have all of that.

''So, she's going to wake up this week right?'' I asked the doctor, yanking myself out of my thoughts. He nodded, showing me a paper of statistics. Everything was rubbish, so I gave it back to him. ''Again, I'm sorry for not have the medicine sooner.'' he spoke.

I looked over at Scooter who was just standing with his hands on the back of his head. ''You knew?'' I asked, coming to the conclusion that Scooter knew this whole time.

''Justin, I found out a little earlier than you. I just didn't want you to hear it from me.''

''So you kept it from me. I was in the dark on this. What about my mom? Does she know? I mean, it's not that big of a deal. She's going to wake up anyways but I guess it's all-''

''It's okay. Everything's going to be fine.'' Scooter interrupted, walking over to me. I swallowed a lump in my throat, catching my breath. ''So we're taking her with us for sure right?'' I asked, glancing over at her. Scooter nodded, walking out the room towards my mom. He was probably going to tell her about the lack of medicine.

''Tomorrow we go, let's start tonight. You know what is all about.... I can take you up, I can take you home. I can take you, ohh, where you wanna go. I can pick it up, we could take it slow. I can take you home, oh oh oh.'' I sang softly, sitting in the chair beside Bethanny's bed.
