Head Over Heels

Sky Tomlinson is funny, has an obsession with carrots, loves to sing, play guitar, and loves photography. She works at "Music Café" where new artists play music 12/7 for the hours they are open. Sky sings and plays guitar. She has amazing talent, just like her father, Louis Tomlinson. She loves country music, and that's the kind she writes. Maybe it started when she went to live with her grandma in Texas for a summer. Who knows? Sky writes love songs, but one day she actually writes a song about her crush, Jason Styles, son of her dad's bet friend, Harry Styles. What Sky doesn't know is someone else is after him too...

6. Photography

Yesterday was a complete disaster, but that doesn't mean today will be.

I woke up and jumped out of bed. I pulled out jean shorts, a t-shirt, sports bra and underwear, and jumped in the shower. After rinsing off I pulled on my clothes, grabbed my camera, and headed for the kitchen.
It's just about getting done with the transaction from winter to spring, so I can finally dress in my usual outfit all through summer, with the exception of a t-shirt. Normally I wear a spaghetti-strap tank top during the summer.
I pulled out cereal and poured it in a bowl and gulped it down.
Emma stared at me like I was crazy because she is THEE slowest eater. Evelyn just rolled her eyes and headed up stairs to take a shower.
I finished and ran outside.

~~~In The Woods~~~
I had woken up early on purpose so I could take pictures in the woods. Right now it was 6:00, and the bus leaves at 6:50. I had 50 minutes to find an animal to enter in a contest. I had already submitted Jason's picture, and I really hoped I'd win. Now for the animal contest.
As I walked I hummed a tune. It was a kind of angry tune I had come up with, and I figured I'd never put lyrics to it. Oh well.
Then suddenly I came upon a doe. She looked up startled, but didn't move however. Then I saw why.
A little baby deer right next to her moved. It was premature.
A tear escaped my eye. I pulled out my phone and backed away searching for what to do if you find a premature baby deer. Call a vet.
Then I got an idea. I had a vet's cell phone number near my house because one time Emma had found a baby kitten. We called the vet and she gave us her number to call if anything happened. Eventually the kitten got adopted. I snapped a picture of the deer with my phone and texted it to the vet. Then I got an idea.
I backed away a few paces and focused my camera, hold and click. I looked at the snap shot. It was beautiful, I thought. This is what I was going to send in. The light shone through the trees, capturing the deer perfectly. The motherly nature of the doe shown upon the baby was captured so perfectly I could cry. I sat down marveling at how I had actually been lucky enough to get this picture while waiting for the vet.
After the vet arrived I left because I had to get to school. I threw my camera at Dad who caught it and handed me my bag.
"Have a good da-" my dad said as I slammed the door.
I ran out to the waiting bus and hopped in. The bus doors closed and I plopped down next to Jason. Cory was sitting behind us.
"Where were you?" She asked.
"Yeah, C'mon Sky, tell us," Jason said with a twinkle in his eye. Oh gosh. "Were you smooching someone's face off?"
"NO. JASON STYLES, do NOT get me STARTED on YOU," I said loudly.
Cory laughed. "Where were you then?"
"The woods."
"Why were you there?" Jason asked.
"Yes, because that explains it," Cory said sarcastically.
"Oh, well SO-ORRY," I said equally sarcastically. "I was taking photos for a competition."
"Oh! What were you taking pictures of?" Cory asked.
"Animals," I replied.
"Cool," Jason said. "And THEN did you see a guy there and you two got rather heated smooching?"
I slapped his arm. "Dude, not in the mood."
"Sorry," Jason said.
He didn't sound sorry.
Please don't ask.
We arrived at the school where I pretty much ran to my locker, dumped my stuff in as to avoid Darren, and zoomed towards acting classs.
I'm majoring in Photography and the Arts. I have one Math class and one Language Arts class, then Theatrical, and Visual Arts, then Biology, PE, and another Visual Art class. Seven Periods in all.
I pretty much ran to photography, not wanting to run into Shawn or Darren. LIGHT BULB. Those two should date! Perfect! It keeps Shawn's mind off Cory, Darren's mind off bullying, and they're perf for each other! I am a total genius.
Anyway, despite my running, no such luck avoiding them. In fact, both of them came at me. I thinking they're teaming up against me. Awwwwww, how sweet. Their first date, oh, and I helped!
"You better watch your back, Sky," Shawn said my name in a taunting tone, like I had the stupidest name in the world.
"Yeah, or else you might never want to show your face around here ever again," Darren warned menacingly.
"Save it for the nerds," I said and brushed past them. "Oh, an getting together?" I turned to face them. "Best idea you've ever had."
The instant reaction was better than I'd hoped for! Shawn got red in the face and Darren got flustered.
"I'll get you for this, Skyler Tomlinson!" Shawn shouted as I flounced away, as if walking on air.
"Pfft," I laughed. "We both know that there's nothing behind those words." And I walked to Photography without another look back.
~~~Photography Class~~~

I plopped in my seat next to Sierra. The desks were in rows of pairs of two, and across there were five rows of two desks, if that makes any sense. Basically, there are ten normal rows of desks, then two are pushed together to make five rows. Make more sense now? Eh. Oh well!
Sierra looked at me. She has dark, black, wavy hair, soft, brown eyes, and at the moment, is dating one of the cutest, sweetest, most nicest guys in school, Thomas, but everyone calls him Tommy or Tom.
Taylor, Niall's daughter sat in front of me with Josh, Liam's son. The two were dating, and are A-D-O-R adorable! That reminded me, I wonder how Sarah, Zayn's daughter, and her boyfriend, Sean are doing. I've never met Sean personally, even though he sits at my table for lunch, but he seems really nice. They aren't in photography, none of the rest of the six kids of One Direction are, nor their dates except for me, Taylor and Josh.
Oh yeah, and Dani, Josh's twin sister, and her boyfriend Nathan are pretty cute, if I do say so myself.
And then there's Cory, single like a pringle. Oh well, she'll find someone, and then it'll be the twelve of us. Me and Jason, Taylor and Josh, Sarah and Sean, Dani and Nathan, Sierra and Tommy, and Cory and whoever she finds. Twelve.
Anyway, Sierra was looking at me. "You look like you've been running," she said.
Just then the bell rang. "Tell you bout it at lunch," I said as Ms. Burns shut the door and began to teach. Soon we got up to take pictures with our partner. What we had to do was use an affect (I can't remember for the life of me what it's called) where you set a timer on the camera for a minute. It takes one picture, but very slowly. After thirty seconds you move to a new position and when the picture comes out there are two people that are almost see-through and gray, no color.
Sierra and I took several pictures before the bell rang.
As Sierra and I walked to our lockers I told her about what happened. She nodded understandingly and suggested ignoring them. I told her it was pretty hard ignoring them when they're coming right at you. We split up because our second periods were different. I have math, she LA. I walked into math realizing today we were switching seats. Oh gosh.
"Ok! Everyone, find your seat and then I can take attendance! Come on, hurry along now," Mr. Ferm called. I scanned the aisles for my seat, and when I found it, I almost jumped for joy. Cory sat in front of  me, Dani behind me, Nathan next to me on the left, and Sean on my right. Now I could get to know Sean personally!
As the bell rang to signal the start of class, Dani nudged me. I turned around and she handed me a note. It said Nathan on it and she gestured for me to hand it to Nathan.
Once he read it he turned around and smiled at Dani right as Mr. Ferm began teaching.
"Mr. Driscoll," he called. "Care to turn around and not look at Dani?"
"Sure, sir," Nathan said as he turned.
Dani blushed and looked down. I saw Sarah suffocating a laugh from across the room. Sean looked over at her and smiled to himself. Ah, young love.
After a while we got our test. A nice, long, hard test. Whoopee.
