Bad Boy

Lucas was a bad boy. Everyone knew it, especially me. I was determined to stay away from him and concentrate on college. But he certainly didn't want to stay away from me.

1. Meeting him

I clutched my textbook to my chest, waiting anxiously outside the room. People hurried past me in the corridor, many clutching maps and feverishly muttering directions to themselves. I double-checked my timetable, then my watch, making sure that I was on time. I pulled nervously at the end of my dress, hoping it wasn't too bright. Make my first day go okay.

A voice came from behind me. "Are you nervous?" A girl with straight blonde hair walked over, smiling shyly at me. I smiled back, glad to have found someone.

"God, yes. This is Law, right?" I checked her textbook, making sure it was the same as mine. I'd been freaking out for the past few hours, wondering if I had enough equipment, the right books, that I knew where the University was.

"I hope so! These shoes have given me blisters just walking here, I am not going anywhere else!" I relaxed as she laughed, happy to have found someone pleasant to talk to. "I'm Lana, by the way."

"Evie," I replied. People were beginning to meander towards this room, each holding the same textbook as me, and I wanted to get a good look at my new classmates.

Lana looked the same way as me, then turned back and opened her mouth, but was interrupted by the teacher opening the door. "Right, come on in," she said, rather wearily, and we all filed inside.

I walked out with Lana and a friend of hers, Natasha. "That was amazing," I gushed. "College is so much better than school."

"Yep. Can't believe I put up with fourteen years of that crap when I could have been here," Natasha replied, rifling through her bag.

I reached into my own to get out my phone, but I walked straight into a wall of rock and stumbled backwards, attempting to regain my balance. "Hey babe," a low voice murmured.

I looked up to see a guy smirking at me. My breath stopped. Actually stopped. He was the hottest boy I'd ever seen. He had dark brown hair, tousled and messy. It looked perfect, but not styled at all. He had dark brown eyes, almost black. His nose was straight, sloping down to a pair of lips. My stomach fluttered as I saw his lips. Quickly moving on, I zoomed down the rest of his body. Stubble was lightly spread across his broad jaw. He wore a white t-shirt, dark jeans and a black leather jacket, though he looked like a model in such simple clothing. His chest, that I had just walked into, was muscular, the same as his arms. His skin was tanned, as his lips stretched into a self-assured smile.

"Sorry," I muttered, almost unable to drag my eyes down to the floor, before I fainted from lack of oxygen.

"Wanna come get some lunch?" He adjusted his stance, smile smiling confidently. Just from the smug voice coming out of it, an urge came from within me to punch those beautiful lips.

My posture immediately changed, from terrified to fearsome. "No thanks," I replied coolly. My stomach clenched. I bet he'd had girls willing to have lunch with him, and more. Used to girls saying yes to anything he said. That was not happening with me.

"That's cool." He appeared unfazed by my coolness towards him. "I'm Lucas," he held out his hand.

I didn't take it. "Evie," I said shortly. I walked straight past him and his confident smile, before I hit something, catching up with Lana and Natasha.

Why did I hate him so much, after meeting him once?

"You'll succumb to me eventually!" he shouted after me, his laugh echoing around as I walked away.

Now I knew why.
