1. Miss Delilah Evans

“Welcome to the Sunny Shore Hospital. My name is Sharon how may, I help you?”

“Uhm, yes I’m here to see Delilah Evans in Room 223.”

“Ah yes, you must be Harry they told me about you. Please have a seat, Miss Delilah is with her doctor right now.” A sad grin appeared on his face as he turned to take a seat.

“Thank you.” He said, sounding tired.

“Harry, Harry, Harry!” The voice said growing louder and louder.

“Ah! Yes?” Harry said, waking suddenly.

“Miss Delilah is back in her room now, you may go and see her.”

“Yes, thank you.” He said as he began to rise out of the wooden, blue cushioned chair. He walked down the pale, green corridor thinking what he was going to say to Delilah this time when he left. She always got upset when he had to leave. He hated seeing her like this trapped in this hospital and it was all his fault.

“Damn it!” he shouted as he stopped to calm down. I can’t let her see me like this. I have to be strong…for her. He looked up and entered her room. Her eyes lit up as she caught sight of him and the smile that he loved appeared on her face like magic.

“Harry!” she said with a little laugh.

“Hey there, Delilah, these are for you.” Harry said as he handed her the White Calla Lilies with a baby blue ribbon around them. Delilah took them with wide eyes and a laugh.

“You remembered.”

“Of course I did, how could I forget?”

“Well, please have a seat.” she said pointing to a brown leather chair that sat in the corner. As he sat down, she took a seat on the edge of her bed with her feet dangling off the edge.

“How was your day?” he asked.

“Oh, you know, fine. OH BUT I DID MAKE A NEW FRIEND!” She exclaimed.

“Really? What’s her name?” Harry quizzed her.

“Mallory.” She simply stated.

“How did you two meet?”

“In the cafeteria, she just got admitted.” She informed him.

“What’s her last name? Do you know?” He said in rather calm voice.

“Davis, Mallory Davis” She said, her face blank.

“Davis…Davis…that name sounds familiar. Hmm……….Mallory Davis.”

“She was there the day of the accident……she….was the one who found us.” Delilah said face blank with tears forming. She always had a hard time with memories that conjured up the event of that day. Harry slowly got up and walked over to the bed. Sitting down lightly next to her as if she would break with the slightest movement or touch. Ever so slowly Harry moved a hand around her. When she didn't move he placed his other hand around her. He hugged her tightly, as if trying to crush away all of the pain and hurt, she felt.

“Shh it’s okay Delilah your safe, your safe now. Shh shh you’re okay. Just calm down.” Harry said in a soothing voice. Trying his best to calm her down but not knowing what else to do.

“Harry…Harry” She said between sniffles

“It’s okay love, I’m here.” By now Harry knew there was only one thing that would calm her down. He began to sing Hey There Delilah by the Plain White Tee’s.

He stopped singing at the chorus by now Delilah had stopped crying and continued the song, like she always did.

After Delilah sang the last few words she thanked Harry and smiled. She returned Harry’s hug. Throwing her arms into the air and hopping off the bed she yelled,

“Sing to me HARRY!” Laughing at her innocence Harry began to sing Little Things, got off the bed, and started dancing with her.
