1. Prologue: London, Here I Come

London, England. I couldn’t believe I was going there for the summer. It was going to be awesome! I have never been there before so it is going to be a big change but I will get used to it. I just graduated and am going to visit my aunt and cousins that live there. My mom’s sister lives in a city called Holmes Chapel or something like that. I looked down at my ticket to England in my hand as I waited to check my bags in at the LAX airport.

I was almost up there. Just a few more to go… I thought to myself as I pulled out my

phone and began to mess around on it while I waited. “Ma’am! Come over here to check in your bags.” I heard the voice and glanced up. A guy flailing his arms to get my attention behind the baggage check in lanes, letting me know to go over and turn my bags in before my long flight to England. I nodded and grabbed my bags and rushed over to the empty spot on the counter.

“Sorry!” I said as I set my carry-on bag on the counter so I could give him how much I owed to check my bags in. “It’s okay,” he said and reached over and grabbed my suitcase before putting it down to check the weight. After paying, I grabbed my carry-on along with my purse and headed toward security.

After I got through security, I went and looked around a bit while I waited for my flight. I pulled out my phone and texted my mom to let her know I was waiting for my flight. She responded back with a smiley face and told me to be safe and call her once I get to my Aunt Cindy’s house and that her and my father loved me very much. I replied back and told her I would be safe and that I loved them too.

About an hour later, I finally boarded my plane to London. Now, I didn’t really have much choice to either listen to my music, read or sleep. I decided to listen to some music for a bit. As I turned on my music, Adele’s Rumor Has It started to play. After putting my head phone’s in, I shut my eyes as I got into my music.

Close to ten and a half hours later, I finally made it to London. I was glad we finally made it because I was starting to get tired of being on a plane with tons of random people that I didn’t even know. Once the flight attendant came on the loud speaker, I sighed out loud; glad I could finally get the hell off this plane and meet up with my cousins.

About ten to fifteen long minutes later, I clutched tighter onto my bag as I walked down the platform that led in the direction of baggage claim. I pulled out my phone from my purse and pressed the lock button, I had three text messages from my mom asking if I had gotten here yet. Yes, I just arrived. After sending that, I shoved it into my pocket before I began to look around for my cousins who were picking me up from the airport.

I smiled to myself as I noticed them standing there. I waved as I walked down the walkway and hugged each of them tightly once I got over to them. “Hi, Samantha!” my cousin, Nichole said in her amazing British accent.

I couldn’t help that I was jealous of her accent. I loved British accents, especially the new British pop boy band, One Direction. Their accents were amazing and sexy and they aren’t too bad looking. They were way too good-looking. I like all of them equally, but thought Harry is the best good-looking out of the five boys with amazing eyes and a handsome smile.

I didn’t have an accent whatsoever. I was just your average, normal teenage girl from Los Angeles, California who just barely graduated high school by passing all her classes by the skin of her teeth and hanging out with friends whenever necessary and have fights with my siblings some times when they get annoying which is pretty much all the time. Sometimes I hated being the oldest with younger siblings.

“Hey, Nicky!” I said, smiling as I hugged her back.

“How are you?” she asked, smiling at me after we pulled away from the hug.

“Great! How are you guys?” I asked as I hugged my aunt Cindy, mom’s sister.

“We’re doing good, we are glad you are finally here, sweetheart,” Aunt Cindy said and lightly patted my shoulder, smiling in my direction. I smiled back.

“Me too,” I smiled back. I was so glad to finally be here.

“Come on dear, let’s go get your things,” she said as she pushed me lightly in the direction of the baggage claim so I could get my bags.

I nodded and followed behind them as I swung my carry-on bag over my shoulder. We made it less than a few minutes later. After I retrieved all of my bags, we headed out to the car. London was so pretty. I was looking around in every direction while we headed to their car. The weather was somewhat cold and wet from rain. I’ve heard that the weather here in London is always wet, cold and rainy most of the time.

“Have everything?” Nichole added, looking over at me as she helped me put my bags in the trunk of their car. I nodded and replied back with a soft “I think so,” before making sure I had all my stuff and getting in to the car. I looked around at all the scenery around me as my aunt started to drive. I have my driver’s license but haven’t really driven that much since I just got it after graduating less than a month or so ago.

Everything looked so green and beautiful. All of the buildings were so big and breathtaking. I looked at it all in awe, I don’t think I will ever want to leave. I haven’t even been here an entire day but I know it will be great when I do start looking around at everything.

We made it to their house in about ten minutes or so. I was so glad to finally be able to relax from being on the plane for so many hours. After getting my stuff situated in the guest room they had set up for me, I crashed and was out for the night.
