31. Chapter thirty: Wedding

Today is finally here; it is finally my wedding day. I was excited and super nervous at the same time. I was surprised to find that my dress still fit in all the right places, I was surprised at first because I was worried it wouldn’t since I’m now expecting mine and Harry’s first child. We are planning on telling everyone after at the reception.

Gemma and the girls had just finished helping me get in to my dress. My mother styled my hair for me and put a few ringlet curls in it with the curling iron and put it up with some strands hanging down. Anne did my makeup for me and I was now trying to relax myself because I didn’t want anything to go wrong. I just hope everything will go smoothly.

My palms were beginning to sweat and I was beginning to feel a bit light-headed because I knew it would be starting soon. I knew nothing was likely to go wrong but I was just nervous that I might trip in front of Harry and every single one of the guests. To be safe, I decided to wear flats instead of dealing with high heels because I really didn’t want to be stumbling around in my dress while my father walks me down the aisle to Harry.

I begin to pace the room as a million thoughts begin to race through my mind. I really hope nothing goes wrong because if it did, I would be humiliated for it the rest of my life. I kept telling myself that it is all going to be fine.

For something borrowed; I was wearing my mother’s veil from when my parents got married. Something old, a necklace incrusted with diamonds I wore to prom a few years ago when I was still in school. Something new which is my dress of course and lastly, something blue; a blue garter to go underneath my dress.

“Sam, baby, breathe, it’s all going to go fine, I know it,” my mother says resting her hands on my shoulders as she looks at me. I stare up at her through my eyelashes that were freshly done with mascara.

“I hope so,” I sigh as I shift the weight off of my left foot on to my other.

“Love, I’m sure Harry is just as nervous as you are, Sam,” Anne says and pulls me into a hug careful not to mess up my hair or makeup that she just did. Just as I was about to open my mouth to speak, there was a knock on the door.

I curse under my breath as I hurry over to hide in the bathroom. I hope it wasn’t Harry, but I had a feeling it wasn’t.

“Sam? It’s only Louis, come on out love,” Gemma calls out for me.

“Coming,” I say as I slowly ascend from the restroom to see Louis standing there looking quite handsome in a tux.

“Wow…Sam, y-you look beautiful, love. Harry is going to freak. I brought you something – it’s a note from Harold,” he says and smiles as he pulls me in to a warm embrace. I chuckle at his words.

“Thanks, Lou,” I tell him and take hold of the note he held tight in his grasp. It looked a bit wrinkled around the edges.

“Welcome, love. Harry is beginning to freak out; he doesn’t want anything to mess up. He wants everything to go perfectly for you; he loves you so much, I’m glad you two have each other, you are meant for each other, I’m so glad you are marrying my best mate,” he says. As he spoke, I could see a sparkle in his eye. I can only imagine how Harry is, but he overreacts with a lot of things.

There was another knock on the door. Gemma stood at the door and turned to look at Louis and I.

“Louis, they need you, it’s almost time,” Gemma says and pulls her step brother’s best friend in to her arms. I couldn’t help but smile at that. He smiles warmly at me before he walks out.

Gemma shuts the door behind him as I go over and take a seat on the couch and stare at the note I held tightly in my grip. My hands were beginning to shake and the palms of my hands were beginning to sweat again.

My name was written on the front in nice elegant handwriting. I feel my mouth curve in to a wide smile as I open it up and begin to read, my eyes automatically filling with tears.

In such beautiful script, it read: My beautiful bride to be,

I really can’t believe that we are soon to be wed. This has always been a dream of mine to find a woman to spend my life with and I’ve found you. I am so glad I found you, Samantha. I don’t think that if I ever set foot in that coffee shop that first day we met, I wouldn’t have met the most beautiful girl I have ever laid my eyes on. I love you so much with everything in me. I know it wasn’t too soon after we met when I asked you out, but you were all I thought about and all I think about today. Not a day goes by when you aren’t on my mind. I am so proud that I will soon be able to call you my wife; Mrs. Samantha Styles, that has a nice ring to it, don’t ya think? I can’t wait to start my life with you and raise our child together when it comes in to this world. I am ready to begin this amazing journey with you. I don’t think I could ever do it with anyone else but you. I don’t think I could ever live without you by my side. You are the air I breathe and everything I could ask for. I want nothing more than to be by your side.

Every day I have spent with you has been amazing and I think now, I am more ready than ever to spend my life with you. I can’t wait to finally call you my wife in just a few short hours. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have you in my life. I bet I would be sitting in a bar hitting on women and bringing them home every night and then leaving. I would never think of ever leaving you. I will never leave you because you are everything to me. You are the most beautiful woman I have ever met and I am proud that I will soon be able to be spending the rest of my life with you. We have been through so much together and I am grateful for every single moment we have had together. I want to cherish every moment.

I have to go now, but I will see you shortly, I love you with everything in me, you are my life and my home, forever and always yours,
Harry.

P.S. See you at the altar, love. You have stolen my heart, soon to be Mrs. Styles and I’ve stolen yours that I think I must have stolen a long time ago.

I sniffle as I finish reading it. Nobody has ever written me a single thing like this before. I was so happy; I don’t think I have ever been as happy as I am now. I grab a tissue and dab a bit under my eyes, careful not to ruin my mascara.

“Everything alright, love?” Anne takes a seat beside me and looks at me. Her eyes were filled with worry and concern.

“Yes, I’m fine, just happy, and nervous, very nervous,” I smile as I hold the note up to my chest, careful to let the fresh ink from the pen touch the white fabric of my dress.

“It will all be fine love, it’s just nerves, you’ll be fine once you get down to Harry, he called me last week when you must’ve been out with the girls. He kept saying how happy he was but nervous about today that something would go wrong. I reassured him that everything will go fine. I’m sure he’s just as nervous as you, Sam. He gets nervous too,” she says and pulls me into a warm embrace.

There was a forceful knock on the door. I knew it had to be time for the ceremony; that had to be my father. I have a feeling, I know it. The door opens and my father walks in all decked out in his suit looking ever so handsome.

“They’re ready, princess,” he says and reaches out to grab my hand in his. I take hold of his warm big hand as he helps me up. I loop my arm through his as I feel someone, most likely my mother fixing my veil. It was now covering my face.

“I love you sweetie, I am so proud of you, you and Harry are meant for each other,” my mother says and presses a soft kiss to my cheek, careful to mess up my makeup. She hands me a beautiful bouquet of flowers.

“I love you Dad,” I tell him as he begins to lead me down the hall way to the doors of the sanctuary where the ceremony was being held.

My mother and Anne were being escorted in by my grandfather and Anne was being escorted in by Robin, of course. My bridesmaids who were Hannah, Gemma, Sierra and Faith were ahead of me and just walking in the church. Nichole was obviously my bridesmaid and was being escorted by Louis, who was Harry’s best man. One of my younger cousins was the flower girl.

“I love you too, sweet girl,” he whispers back as we come closer to the doors of the sanctuary. I could hear the wedding march begin to play; this was our cue. Even though I was nervous as hell, I was ready for this.

As the music played while my father walked me down the aisle, I couldn’t help but let my gaze avert to Harry who stood at the altar, waiting for me. Every one of the guests had their eyes on me and my father as he walked me down to where Harry stood. There were so many people here. My mouth dropped at the sight of all the people. It was packed. He looked so handsome in his tux.

His hair looked perfect, everything about him was perfect. I even couldn’t help but notice a slight twinkle in his eye. As I came closer to where Harry stood with the priest, I noticed Harry take a breath. He kept his eyes locked on mine and couldn’t help but smile widely, his dimples showing. I smiled widely at his appearance, I was so happy.

Once my dad and I made it to the altar, he whispered in my ear and told me he loved me before pressing a loving kiss to my forehead. Before he walked off, he whispered something to Harry. In response, Harry let out a light chuckle. My father went to his spot next to my mother. I smile as Harry grabs my hands in his. He leans forward and whispers a barely audible “I love you,” to me. I smile widely and mouth it back to him.

The priest began to speak and quoted a few verses of scripture. When either one of us had to speak, we did so. After he quoted a few more verses, which took a long while, it was finally time for Harry and I to say our vows. I had a feeling it was going to take a while but I didn’t mind.

After each of us said our vows to each other, which took a very long time, it was finally time for the rings.

“Do you, Harold Edward Milward Styles, take this woman, Samantha Noelle Thompson to be your lawfully wedded wife as long as you both shall live?” the priest asks looking at Harry for clarification.

“I do,” Harry responds with a smile as he looks at me. Harry reaches over and grabs the beautiful diamond ring and places it on my bare left ring finger.

“Now, do you, Samantha Noelle Thompson, take this man, Harold Edward Milward Styles to be your lawfully wedded wife as long as you both shall live?” he looks at me.

“I do,” I respond with a smile as I reach over and grab the silver wedding band and place it on his left ring finger.

“Now, I pronounce you man and wife, Harold, you may now kiss your bride,” the priest tells Harry with a smile. Harry grabs me by the waist and pulls me against him as he presses his lips against mine forcefully like we haven’t seen each other in months. We pull away from the kiss a few moments later. I smile widely as I look up at him. He smiles just as wide back at me.

“I would now like to introduce you all to, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Edward Milward Styles,” the priest says as we turn to face all of the wonderful people who attended.

I still couldn’t believe that there was so many that came. Thinking about it kind of made my head spin. I smile widely at my husband. I felt ecstatic at the fact that I can finally call him my husband. I knew he felt the same by how he looked at me.

“I love you Mrs. Styles,” Harry says with a grin as he looks over at me.

“I love you too, Mr. Styles,” I reply back with a smile just as wide as his. He leans in and gives me a deep kiss. I push him off me and let out a chuckle.

“It’s so surreal, babe, we’re finally married,” I tell him with a wide grin.

“I know love, I’m glad I can officially call you my wife, I’m proud to say it too,” he says with a smile and puts a secure arm around my waist as we walk in to the reception hall where everyone else was waiting for us.

As we make our way in, we are greeted by a million squeals of happiness and clapping from everyone. It was pretty much just our families and close friends. My parents and Harry’s all congratulate us and send us their best wishes for us moving forward as a married couple. We thank them as we go over to where Anne stood since she motioned us to come over there for some reason.

“Here, Harry, be careful and help her,” Anne tells her son as she passes the knife over to him so we could cut the cake.

I let a small chuckle at her remark. Cameras were flashing from everywhere as we cut the first piece of our delectable looking cake. The topper on the cake was of the groom holding the bride in his arms. It looked amazing; I couldn’t wait to take a bite.

“Harry! Smash it in her face!” Niall shouts as I look up and catch his eye. I shake my head and smile. As if on cue, Harry picks up the piece of cake and smashes it in my face. I scrunch up my face as he does it.

“Oh, that’s payback, babe,” I say with a laugh as I pick up my piece with my hands – not really caring about my freshly manicured nails at the moment – and smashing it all over his face. I don’t even think I managed to get any of it in his mouth. At least he got some of it in mine when he did that to me.

After we cleaned ourselves up from when we smashed the cake in each other’s faces earlier, we were listening to speeches from Anne and my mom. They soon finish up and then Louis, being the best man, begins to talk and congratulate us with our lives together moving forward.

“Before we hand this over to you newlyweds, I’d like to say a few words about Sam and Harry,” Louis began to speak and smiles as he looks at us. I feel my cheeks heat up as he said my name.

“When I first heard from my lovely girlfriend, Nichole, that Samantha was coming to stay with her for the summer a few years back, I was excited to get to meet her. She is a great girl to get to know. I am very glad I got to meet you, love. I think it was me, who asked her if she wanted to hang out with us and that’s how she met Harry. After that, they were hooked ever since. I am glad they have each other,” he says with a smile and raises his glass to us for a toast.

“And with a final word of congratulations to my best friend and his new wife, I have some news I’d like to share myself – Nichole and I… we’re engaged!” he says as she stands up beside him and he wraps a tight arm around her small frame. Everyone claps and congratulates them for their exciting news.

“Congrats, Lou!” Harry yells and throws his fist up in the air as congratulations to the couple. After the madness of the commotion goes down, Harry stands up first.

“So, first of all, I’d like to thank you all for coming out today. I am so glad to finally be married to the woman of my dreams. I feel like the happiest and luckiest man in the world right now since I am officially married to the love of my life. Carrie and James, I want to thank you for having such a beautiful daughter. I am so thankful to have her in my life. Your daughter makes me the happiest I have ever been. My God Sam, you are the most beautiful bride and I am proud to call you mine. I love you, Sam, with everything in me,” he says and reaches forward and takes my hand with his big hand. I smile as he helps me up. He gives me a sweet kiss on the lips before handing the microphone over to me.

I take a breath before I open my mouth and begin to speak. “Not to be a total copy cat, but I’d like to thank everyone who came out today. It means so much. Have to admit, I feel like a princess and one of the luckiest girls in the world right now since I am finally married to the love of my life. I’d like to thank you, Anne and Robin for raising your son to be who he is today. He makes me the happiest that I have ever been. I don’t know where I would be if I didn’t have him in my life. And, Gemma, I am so glad to be part of your family, you are like the older sister I never had since I’m the oldest of three siblings,” I say with a chuckle. Harry takes hold of my hand and rubs his thumb over my fingers as he holds on to my hand.

“And lastly, Harold,” I say and smile as I look at my husband. He stared up at me, his lips curving in to a smile; his eyes filled with nothing but utter love and compassion for me; I could have sworn I saw him tear up a bit as I spoke. “I love you so much, babe. You are my world and I am so glad to be a part of it. Oh! We have one more thing to tell you all,” I state with excitement.

Harry stands up so he was beside me and wraps a protective arm around my waist. “We…” Harry starts off but I cut him off.

“We’re…I’m pregnant and we’re expecting our first child!” I exclaim. The entire room erupts in to massive cheers of excitement from every one. I don’t think I have ever been happier. We were finally done with speeches.

“Now, let’s get this party started!” Niall says loudly as the DJ begins to play music. I was sitting and talking with the girls while Harry went off with Niall to get some champagne for us. I look up to see Harry walking back with two glasses of champagne, most likely one for me and one for him.

“Hey beautiful,” Harry says as he takes a seat in the empty chair next to mine.

“Hi babe,” I smile and lean over to press a kiss to his cheek.

“What were you girls talking about?” he asks with a smile and cups my face in his hands.

“Not much, just stuff about the baby, why do you ask?” I question him with a smirk.

“Just curious, babe,” he smiles and presses a soft kiss to my lips. We pull away from the kiss as a loud voice comes over the microphone; it sounded an awful lot like Niall. It must’ve been him because I could recognize that voice anywhere.

“Sorry to interrupt, but, can I get everyone’s attention? Can the bride and groom please come out on the dance floor for their first dance together? That means everyone clear the dance floor for the newlyweds,” Niall says. I laugh as Harry grabs my hand and helps me up.

He leads me to the dance floor and pulls me close as the lights dim a bit and a song begins to play. Music fills the room as Harry and I slow dance. Soon, the voice of Steven Tyler overtakes the room. Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing was playing. It is one of my all-time favorites.

“You’re all I’ve ever wanted, babe, I love you,” Harry says and pulls me close to him as he could.

I don’t think it could get any better, I am the happiest I have ever been. Today was the best day of my life and I know it couldn’t get any better than how it is now. I am now married to the love of my life and soon, we will have something of our own in this world that we made together. I wanted nothing more than to be in my husband’s arms right now.
