Can Liam help her get the courage to sing again or will she take a completely different road with someone else?

7. Dinner Or Date?

Once we were done eating Ari and I took Biggie home to get settled. I knew he had to be really full because his little stomach was very bloated. He liked my house, wanting to jump out of my arms and run around but I didn't put him down to explore until we were in my room. He sniffed and rolled around, already making himself at home which was a good thing.

"Has he gone to the bathroom since we found him?" I had to think for a moment.

"I think he went when we were cleaning up our trash after eating."

"It's probably a good thing you don't have carpet."

"Yeah. I'm gonna have to train him to go outside." We played around with Biggie until we heard the front door shut. My mom was home.

"My mom is home! We have to hide him!", I said in total panic.

"Quick, give him to me!" I gave her Biggie and she ran into the bathroom, turning the shower on and played faint music. Not even a minute later my mom came up.

"So what have you girls been up to?"

"We went shopping and Liam asked me to dinner." Crap. I had forgotten since I found Biggie. Hopefully Ariana could cover for me.

"Liam? I don't think you've told me about him."

"Oh well I met him when I went ice skating. We're pretty good friends now." She wanted to know more about him so I began telling her all of what he told me, how he was from England and such. She seemed just as interested just as I was when I first met him.

"Well I can't wait to meet him. Is he picking you up tonight?"

"I don't think so. Unless he got an American license. I may just invite him over one night for a campout like Ari, Brooke, Trent and I do sometimes."

"Oh okay. Good deal. Well your dad and I are going out tonight and I only assume Ari is staying another night so tell her she can order takeout and invite Brooke and Trent over if she wants." My parents may not like me being out so much but they make up for it by letting my friends come over.

"Okay thanks mom." She left and went downstairs to get ready for her date. Ari came out of the bathroom with Biggie and gave him to me.

"Good call with the bathroom." She nodded, letting out a sigh of relief.

"Couldn't have made that conversation any longer?" I knew I talked a little too long but if I had shooed her away she would have known something was up. I checked the time. 4:43. I needed to start getting ready for dinner.

"Do you mind..maybe watching Biggie tonight? I understand if you don't."

"Really? No, no not at all. He's a little cutie pie."

"My momma says you can invite Brooke and Trent over if you want. Just make sure Trent will keep quiet about Biggie." Trent was a very honest person. He would usually always say what was on his mind. It didn't make it any easier that he was close to my dad, helping more with our yard work since dad didn't have his helping hand anymore.

"Okay cool. Now go get ready", she put Biggie down and shooed me to my closet.

"Do I even need to change? I mean I don't know if this is even an actual date."

"You look fine just do something a little nicer with your hair." I agreed and started curling it. I never curled dramatically just something simple and girly like beach waves. I also applied a little more makeup just to throw the outfit together. Once I was done I stood in front of Ari for her opinion.

"Perfect. Liam's gonna love it." I smiled and did a quick turn in the mirror before checking my phone. Liam told me that he got his license this morning so he could pick me up. I replied that I was ready whenever he was and he said he was on his way. I had to give him directions but from what he said, he wasn't staying too far from me.

The car ride was filled with music, new and older which I really enjoyed but I stayed quiet, only listening while Liam sang his heart out. He was really, really good singing. His voice could go very low but steady or even very high also keeping on key. I really enjoyed him singing. Dinner was very fun. Most of the time we laughed and just goofed off but we also got to know each other very well.

"You're a really good singer. You should do the Xfactor thing." Right when I said that I knew I shouldn't have. I knew what his next sentence would be.

"Thanks mate. I hear you've got a great voice of your own. Why did you say you only used to sing, back at the lake?" I figured he would have found out soon anyway but I just hate that I brought it upon myself.

"Well, I quit singing quite a few months ago. After my brother died."

"Oh I'm so sorry to hear that. You don't have to go on."

"It's okay. I can explain." I told him the backstory about Jared and how we used to sing. He looked me straight in the eyes while I was talking, taking every bit of it in. He was a good listener. When I had finished he spoke up.

"I'm so sorry you and your family had to go through that. I can see why you don't anymore. So you haven't had the urge to sing again?"

"No not really. I know I probably should but I feel like Jared was the last person I should have sang to so if I start again, it just wouldn't feel right. That probably doesn't make sense."

"No it does. I just wish I could hear you." Soon after we left but the car ride back was a little more quiet. I could tell he was unsure to sing again.

"I love your voice, It doesn't bother me when other people sing. It's just me." I turned up the music and he started singing along to She Will Be Loved. I loved the song. After Liam asked me if I ever had the urge to sing, I started thinking more and more about it and soon enough I kind of did. I kept it to myself though, only keeping it to myself. Once we got to my house he waked me to the door.

"Well I had fun tonight. Sorry again about Jared."

"I did too and don't worry about it." He bent down and gave me a meaningful hug, rubbing my back in a reassurring way. I liked how caring he was. I didn't get a kiss but I wasn't expecting one. When I went inside the gang was waiting for me.

"How did it go?" Ari asked, immpatient.

"It was good. Singing came up though, I told him why don't."

"He would have known sooner or later", Trent joined. He was holding Biggie.

"How did dog sitting go?"

"Great! We took him outside and he used the bathroom so we gave him a piece of popcorn as a treat."

"Aww he's such a good boy!" I jogged over to him and gave him a big kiss.

"He needs a bath", Brooke added.

"Yeah I'll go do that right now." I left them in the living room, watching some horror movie. I was surprised how much he liked the water. I heard most dogs hate baths. Maybe it was because he was still a puppy or something. Biggie ended up sleeping in the bathtub with a softer towel and we never heard him wimper or anything. Guess he was worn out for the day. I ended up going to bed early that night, dreaming about Liam and me-singing on the Xfactor.
