Forever & Always

19 Year old Addie's dreams finally come true. She marries the man of her dreams. When things take a turn, well, you never know that happens in the life of a rock star.

15. Truly, Madly, Deeply

*Joe’s POV*
I had a hard time taking in what the doctor said about Addie losing the baby. It’s like everything that happened when she found out just went down the drain. After Nick and Leah went home, she took the dogs and went upstairs to lay down. I laid on the couch and watched TV for a while. The next thing I know is that it’s 3 something in the morning. I went upstairs to go lay with Addie. I hoped she was ok. I walked in the bedroom to see that she was crying and covered in sweat.
“Addie? Addie! Addie!” I woke her up from whatever it was. She opened her eyes and just looked at me. “Addie, are you ok, dear?” I asked her. She shook her head no. What a stupid question.
“I just had a bad dream.” She whimpered. I had never heard her voice that sad. I laid in bed on my side and pulled her close to me. She moved closer so that we would not be separated.
“Wanna talk about it?” I asked her. She shook her head again.
“Let me up for a second please.” She whispered. She got up and went to the bathroom and shut the door. It was quiet for a moment. I heard the faucet turn on and then off. She came back to the bed quietly.
“Everything ok?” I asked her. She buried her face in my chest and nodded her head. I put my arm around her waist with no intention of letting her go. “Will you tell me what the dream was?” I asked her after a minute. She shook her head no and put her hand on her stomach. “That bad?” I asked and she nodded her head.
“Worse” she barely got the word out. I felt so bad. I felt like this was because of me. That it was because I had lied to her a couple weeks ago. That I didn’t come to bed when she did tonight.
“Oh.” Was all I could say. I pulled her closer to me. I didn’t want to let her go. I looked at her for a little bit and she looked up me. I kissed her softly to remind her that I do still love her. She shyly looked down. “Baby?”
“hmm?” she answered quietly.
“You know I love you right?” I asked her. She nodded her head. “And you know that no matter what, you’re mine and I’m yours right?” She nodded again. I grabbed her left hand and kissed it. I pointed to her engagement and wedding rings. “You see these rings?” I asked her. She nodded. “The day that I asked you to marry me and the day we actually got married were the best days of my life. Both days, I told you how much I love you.” I paused. Her eyes filled with water. I wiped a tear away from her eye. She looked up and I kissed her. I put my hand on her cheek and rubbed it with my thumb.
“I love you” she said with a pitiful voice.
“I love you too.” I kissed her again. She curled up against my chest and closed her eyes. I felt so terrible that this happened to her. I never knew what it was like to lose a child. And now I know. I didn’t realize I had begun crying until a tear fell off my cheek on to hear head. She looked up at me.
“What’s wrong?” she asked. I couldn’t answer. She put her hand on my neck and I put my hand over hers. “Babe, what’s wrong?” She asked again.
“I’m so sorry for what happened a couple weeks ago when you were first…you know. And I just feel like this is all my fault from the stress I put on you and—“ She cut me off with a kiss that lasted more than 5 seconds.
“Baby, don’t. Just don’t, baby. None of this was your fault.” She paused to kiss me again. “Babe, I love you more than anything. Don’t blame yourself for any of this. It’s God’s way of showing it wasn’t right.” She looked at me sweetly. My eyes overfilled with water. She wiped the tear off of my nose. “We will know it’s right when the time comes.” She said sweetly. I kissed her forehead and held her hand.
“I love you.” I said to her weakly.
“I love you too. None of this is your fault” She reassured me. I held her closer and tighter.
“Let’s get some sleep.” I said after a couple minutes. I kissed her again and I closed my eyes.
