You Were My Summer Love (A One Direction Fanfic)

17 year old Maxine has been best friends with Taylor Swift ever since they were in a high school band together. But when Taylor moves on with her career and becomes internationally known music star, she starts changing into a person Maxine didn't know at all.

8. Hotel

[Harry's POV]

Taylor and I were escorted into a big black SUV, and Max was following us in her car.  I tried my best the whole ride not to look in the rear view mirror to see if she was still one car behind us, but it was hard... I was so in love.  Taylor kept giving me looks of unease the whole time and, and let out long sighs every few minutes.

"You ok Hazza?" Taylor asked me, as she put her right hand on my leg sympathetically.  I felt her hand start rubbing my knee, trying to comfort me.  But it wasn't working...  Her touch suddenly made me feel really uncomfortable, when only hours earlier, it made me feel loved.

"Yea.  I'm fine," I finally gulped out.  Taylor took my hand and squeezed it.  I looked down at our hands, and then back at her.  She was smiling.  I forced a smile back.  I felt so guilty...  There was no easy way to tell her that I didn't have feelings for her anymore, but now would not be the time to break it to her.

After a 30 or so minute drive, we arrived at Taylor's hotel.  I heard a bunch of screaming girls and saw flashes from cameras outside.  Letting out a big sigh, I put on my ray bans, preparing to step out of the car. Taylor took my hand and together we made our way out of the car and into the safety of security.  I made sure I was smiling for the fans and the cameras, but I didn't stop at any moment to sign autographs or take pictures.  I needed to rest.

At last, we made it past the screaming girls and the press, and were traveling up the elevator to floor 28. I took off my ray bans and fixed my hair quickly, shaking it and then swooping it to the side.  When we made it to room 283, Taylor swiped her card key and opened the door.  It was a large hotel room, with big windows and shades, two bedrooms, a medium kitchen, bathroom, and little lounging room with a TV and a couch.  It was nice.

"I'm gonna text Max and tell her the room number and stuff," Taylor said, her thumbs already texting.

"Ok," I said.  I felt like she was starting to think I wasn't interested in her anymore-- and to be honest, she was a really sweet girl.  Feeling like it was my duty to make her feel better, I snuck up behind her and hugged her from the back, lightly kissing her neck and giggling.

"Harry!" she laughed in surprise, kissing my forehead.  I smiled at her and kissed her nose softly.  She smiled back.

"When will security be bringing our luggage up?" I asked.

"Pretty soon I think," she replied, still texting on her phone.

"..You sent that text to Max yet?"

"Oh, yea. Just texting a different friend," she said shrugging it off.

"Who?" I was curious now...

"Harry, don't worry. It's just a friend from High School.  His name is Jared-- we're just friends, don't worry sweetie," she said, sealing up the conversation with a kiss.

"Ok, if you say so," I replied, a bit uneasy, but smiling.

"It's nothing," Taylor promised.
