11. Driving Around Costport

Harry hopped in the passenger seat of the old pick-up truck. I backed out of the long driveway and started to slowly mozy down the gravel road. Harry was staring out the window. "So where are we going?" he asked.
"First we're driving through the area--you know, just farms and stuff--then I wanna take you to Costport. Then to Brocinton."
Harry nodded. He pointed to the crick. "What's the creek called?" he asked.
"The CRICK is called Albany Crick," I told him.
Harry shook his head smiling then looked at me. "You're so adorable when you say crick," he laughed.
I glared at him jokingly. "So it's adorable to say it RIGHT?"
Harry just laughed at me.
I pointed out some farms to him, and the church, and the cemetery with my uncle's headstone. We started on our way into Costport. "Even though Costport is considered a bureau, it's kind of the bigger city around here. It's where the schools are, and the closest stores," I explained to him.
I pulled into the hilly town on one of the one-way streets. "That's my junior high," I said pointing to the school. "And that's the high school, and the pharmacy I broke my arm at, and--"
"How on Earth did you break your arm at a pharmacy?!" Harry questioned.
"Tripped on a tablet bottle," I casually told him.
Harry laughed at me. "That's almost as cute as saying crick."
I gave him a push.
An hour later, we arrived in town in Brocinton. There are lots of stores lining the brick roads lined with lights (like christmas lights). It was dark now, so the lights were on. Harry and I got ice cream and strolle down the sidewalk hand in hand. It was so romantic, until...
