6. Taken.

My eyes opened to see my plane white ceiling. I sat up slowly and when I looked around all my posters, pictures, and other personal things were taken off my walls. I swung my legs off my bed and placed my feet on my carpet floor. I walked over to my wooden dresser and opened the top drawer. It was completely empty. I opened the other four drawers. All empty.
“What’s going on here?” I asked out loud.

I walked out of my room that was emptied of on my things and walked into the white bathroom. My tooth brush that used to hang on the mirror was gone. My bag of bag of hair, mouth and other personal things, gone. ‘What the heck?’ I walked out of the bathroom and to the staircase.

“Dad!” I yelled down the stairs. No response. I walked down all 13 steps and placed my feet on the hallway hard wood floor on our first level. I walked into the family room and saw about six suitcases by the door.

“Dad?” I said as I looked around the room.

“I’m in the kitchen” he called back. I could smell bacon, eggs, pancakes, and everything else you would eat for breakfast.

I walked into the kitchen only to see food on plates EVERYWHERE. So much food… why?

“What’s going on?” I asked looking at my Dad weirdly “why does it look like an all you can eat buffet in here?”

He didn’t look up at me. I looked over at the clock, 9:26.

“Only a few more hours with my girl” he said finally looking up at me “I thought I’d make something good for your last day here for awhile”

“Wait” I said slamming my hands on the little edge of the counter I could see “so you’re saying that I sleep at the new school I’m being forced to go to? It’s going to be like my new… home?”

Just then our front door opened then shut.

“Hey!” yelled a voice from the family room. I walked to the family room and saw another six or seven suitcases, and a girls body slumped up on the couch with the T.V on, Hayley.

“What are you doing here, Hayley?” I asked putting my arms on the back of the couch.

“I’m also a person that was sent to the wrong school, I guess” she said looking up for only a second then gluing her eyes back to the T.V.

Hayley and me were sent to the wrong school? I don’t understand any of this. I walked back to the kitchen and pulled out a chair from the table then sat down.

“Where are all my shoes?” I asked crossing my arms over my chest, anger written all over my face.

“Your green suit case” my Dad answered looking at the eggs he was cooking. I jumped up, ran to the suitcases in the family room. I looked for the green suit tossing other bags in the process. Finally after going through what seemed like 100 bags I found the green suitcase my Dad was talking about. I opened it up and grabbed the first pair of shoes I saw, my purple high-tops. I slipped them on, ran to the door and swung it open. I ran out my door but I didn’t get very far, I ran straight into someone’s hard chest, full speed. I looked up to see the guy from yesterday, the one escorting us to our new school.

“Time to go” he said towering over me, he smirked “glad you’re all ready and full of energy”

I backed up into my house and practically tripped over the suitcase.

“Yesterday I didn’t introduce myself, my name is Eric” he said walking in my house very rudely.

“You said twelve” said my Dad who just walked into the room.

“My schedule was changed it’s time to go now” Eric said grabbing two of our bags and walking out of my house. I was just receiving the terrible shock and saddening feeling, that now I will be taken away from my family and friends. My eyes started to get the stinging feeling telling my body that I would be crying soon, but I held the tears in.

“Time to go!” Eric yelled walking back in our house clapping his hands before grabbing two more bags “now grab your bags and get out to the car!”

My legs finally started moving. I walked to my bags, picking one up and starting to head out the door, Hayley jumped up from the couch, grabbed her bags and followed me. I looked back at Hayley and I saw tears in her eyes. She wasn’t the only one, my Dad had tears in his eyes as well, and he walked out with us and put our bags in the car. He then walked up to me and just started crying his eyes out, he put his arms around me and kept telling me it would be okay, that we would see each other again soon. I nodded at everything he said anything.

“Get in” Eric said pointing to the back doors of the car.

I gave my Dad one last hug and opened the back door. Hayley walked to her side, opened the door, slid in and slammed the door shut. I looked back at my Dad and gave him a half smile, and then I slid in the car and shut my door.

The ride was silent. Eric didn’t say anything. Finally we came to a stop at a train station.

“Err…. Eric,” I said looking around at the other kids my ages here all waiting for their train. “What’s going on? Where are we?”

Eric didn’t answer he just got out of the car and opened the trunk. Hayley and I got out and walked to our bags.

“First things first” Eric said looking annoyed and angry, he seemed to have gone through this before. “Grab the bag you will use the most”

I looked at him in confusion “I didn’t pack my th-“

“Then unpack and put the things you will use most in one bag,” Eric said interrupting me “all the other stuff in the other bags”

I started to go through my bags, grabbing the important things and shoving them into one bag, then all the other things in the other bags. Hayley did the same. After we were done Eric grabbed our none important bags and walked to a door. He opened the door; it was a room completely empty. He through our bags in the room and as soon as the bags hit the ground they were engulfed in flames.

“WHAT THE HECK!” I yelled “we need those things!”

“Then you should have put them in that bag” he said annoyed “now get in line with the other kids”

I was going to punch him right in his mouth but I was stopped by Hayley grabbing my arm and pilling me to the line of kids.

We waited in the line to get a ticket, finally it was our turn. The lady behind the screen asked for our right arms, we put our arms up and she stamped us with a weird symbol. I couldn’t tell what it was so I just shrugged it off.

“Next!” the lady yelled. I gave her a confused look but just walked to the side ‘this must be the ticket thingy’ I said to myself looking at my arm. Hayley and I walked to a bench and sat down. Right then we heard a train coming. It came closer and closer; on the train was the same symbol on my right arm, now it’s bigger so I could see what it was. It’s a lion and an eagle with two letters in between them SC. ‘I wonder what it stands for’ I said to myself standing up, Hayley followed my motion. We both followed the crowed walking closer to the train. I waited for the train to stop but it kept going, finally it started to slow down.

Eric coughed to clear his throat then jumped on top of a bench so everyone could see him.

“this is the time we’ll see how strong you are!” he yelled “what you have to do is grab the side of the train while it’s moving and hold on till get there!”

My eyes widened at his words. I felt my stomach turn at the thought of holding on to a train so I won’t die!

“now I’ll show how it’s done then you follow!” he yelled “if you don’t follow.. well lets just say it won’t be much fun”

I saw all the exits close. There was no way out…

“now watch!” Eric said walking to the edge. Then he jumped and grabbed a long pole connected to the train. I just noticed now that there was only one door on the huge train, Eric climbed all the way to the door and jumped in. no one stepped forward to jump on. ‘this is the only way out’ I said to myself. I pushed my way past people to the edge. I looked down and saw a long and terrifying drop below. Everyone gasped. Hayley walked up beside me. I looked at her then back at the train. ‘on three’ I told myself. I closed my eyes inhaled then slowly exhaled. I opened my eyes and jumped. I touch the pole. My hand slipped and I began to fall. I closed my eyes and held my breath. I felt my arm being pulled up and I felt the pole, I grasped it with my hands and I was pulled up higher so my feet rested on a pole beneath me. I held on my all of my strength and I slowly opened my eyes. Who I saw I never thought I’d see again… Colton Shay. He smiled then faced forward again. He pulled himself across the train and jumped in the door then closed it. One by one all the other kids jumped on the moving train and we were off to where ever the train was taking us.
