12. Explanation?

"I'll start from the beginning." Joshua started. I nodded and looked into his eyes, wondering what he had to say. "When I was gone, when I left... It was seven years ago. I was take-" The door swung open and in came a man dressed in complete black. He had a few piercings.

"Enough. You have to get back to your duty and you, you have breakfast coming. You won't be leaving this room till you fully recover." Joshua nodded and stood up.

"Joshua! Wait... What happened seven years ago?" I asked.

"We will continue this, I promise you that" Joshua says smiling at me. He grabbed a jacket and walked out the door. I was there alone in the room. I began to feel the pain in my stomach again. I laid against the pillow which was against the wall. What's going on? What did Joshua have to tell me? I rubbed my eyes, then sudden I heard a noise... I looked up but no one was there. I looked around the dim room. The door was closed and I was the only one in here. I closed my eyes and put my hands over my eyes. I'm alone and I didn't hear anything. All of a sudden the door opened and my heart skipped a beat. I looked towards the door and took a deep breath in. It was only Robin. He had a tray of food in his hands.

"Hey," Robin said in his normal deep voice. He laid the tray of food on my lap. "how you holdin' up?"

"Okay, I guess" I answered. I started to think more about how he knew I was here. What does he know? "So uh... You're not sitting with everyone at breakfast?"

"No," he said flatly "I thought that you might want someone to sit with you, seeing as Joshua had to g-"

"Wait... You know my brother Joshua?" I asked suddenly.

"Yeah, well kind of" he said shrugging his shoulders. Then he sat down on the end of my bed. "apparently my father knew him" I nodded but still didn't understand. All this is confusing. To put it truthfully, Life is confusing.

"What time are you going to training" I asked as I took a piece of the bread on the tray and ripped it in half. This was the first time I actually noticed what was on the ugly gray tray. There was a plate with the bread, eggs, and half an apple, there was a cup of milk and a cup of water.

"I was planing soon." Robin answered as he watched me put the bread down and cross myself. I always felt odd saying grace in front of other people but I shouldn't... I said grace and crossed myself again.

"Do you know what you guys are learning today?" I asked as I picked the bread up again. This time I shoved one piece in my mouth. I then grabbed the cup of water and washed the bread down my throat.

"I'm guess some more karate" Robin said shrugging his shoulders.

"So I won't really miss anything..." with out me noticing me noticing it I began to get used to doing training even though I've only been here for what? like two days, I even forget how long it's been because I can't keep my mind straight...

"No, plus aren't you going to get lessons from someone in this room?" asked Robin standing up and walking towards the door. I nodded. "Well I gotta get going, sorry for leaving so soon, I hope that you and Joshua talk about everything." I looked up at him with wide eyes. How does he know anything about Me or Joshua? He walked out the door with out saying another word. It felt really lonely in this room alone.    I finished the stuff up that was on the tray. I left the tray on the small table on the right side of me. I then laid down on the bed just letting my mind ask as many questions as I wanted.

How does Robin know so much?

What happened to Joshua seven years ago?

Why does Colton distract me?

Why does Eric hate me so much?

Why did Sean have to be hurt so badly?

Why did my Dad let me go so easily?...

Dad... I miss him so much... I wish he were here. He always knew how to make me feel better. He was always good with making me less questionable. My eyes started to fill with tears. I put my hand over my eyes as the tears started to slip out. Suddenly the door opened, I looked over and saw Colton facing the door and closing it. He was wearing a long sleeve shirt black and gray striped, grayish colored jeans, and black shoes. His hair laid perfectly on his head.

"So you're up, good" Colton said giving me a small smile. I sat up and followed where he walked. He sat on the end of my bed. "How are you feeling?"

"Fine" I said, It was a little lie, my neck still hurt as did my arms.

"Are you able to get out of the bed?" He asked standing up and looking me straight in the eyes.  I was about to try and get out of the bed but I couldn't it hurt to much. I shook my head looking down trying to hide the embarrassment. Why am I embarrasses?

"That's fine I didn't think you'd be able to get out today anyway. You can just focus on getting better for now, no training." He said nodding at me. He stood up and started to walk to the door. I sat forward and grabbed his sleeve.

"Wait..." I said as I looked down at the ground. My voice was shaky and quiet, I don't think he could really hear me but he stopped walking so I kept talking. "Could you maybe... Stay until Joshua get's here?"

"Sure" He said facing me and smiling at me.   He grabbed the chair that was next to the small table and pulled it over so he was facing me.

"So, could you explain to me how you found me and how you know me in the first place?" I asked after a while of silence.

"I thought you'd ask that at some point. It's a really long story but I guess we have time." Colton started. "Alright let's just start from Joshua. I was-"

"Wait, You know Joshua too?" I asked with a very confused look across my face.

"Yes as do a lot of people. I'm not sure if I should tell you this story after Joshua tells his or jus-" The door opened suddenly and we both looked over startled.

"Carter I- Colton, I didn't think you'd be here" Joshua said shutting the door behind him. "I was just leaving." Colton said standing up and walking beside Joshua. He whispered something in Joshua's ear but I couldn't hear it. Joshua just nodded. Colton left the room smiling at me.

"Joshua, will you now explain to me what's going on?" I asked looking at Joshua with pleading eyes.

"Yes. I'm sorry I didn't get to tell you earlier." Joshua said sitting in the chair that Colton was just a minute ago. This was the first time I notice... he had a cut on his cheek, a bruise on his right arm, and he limped a little into the room as if he was trying to hide the fact he was hurt.

"A-are you okay?" I asked.

"First I will explain about what's going on then come's am I hurt." Joshua said giving a small smile. Again for the second time I waited to hear what he had to tell me, hopefully this time we wouldn't be interrupted.

Joshua breathed in slowly and began his story.

"Seven years ago I was taken from home." I gasped.

"You mean just as I was taken?" I asked

"Yes, the same. There was a man with the name Simon, the very same man that has been torturing you. He was the one who took me away from home" He stopped for only a second to breath. "He came to Dad the very same way Eric did. You must know never to trust Eric, what ever happens you can never ever trust that man."

I nodded. So Joshua was in the very same position I am.

"I was brought here. I jumped on the train as well as everyone else, I began my training here, not knowing for what reason. But no matter what I wouldn't go against their orders, or else." I looked into Joshua's eye's wondering why they looked so dark. "I trained hard and long. I wasn't tormented by Simon as you have been but I was beaten... After my first whole week here I kept my distance from the other trainees because I knew in the end what would be coming. I never wanted to befriend them, Because if I did I wouldn't be able to fulfill my purpose here."

What purpose? I had so many questions to ask but I waited and listened to his story.

"After a month I finally understood everything they were training us for. I didn't want any part of it, so I went to Simon because he was the only one I trusted. Back then I was stupid, Simon tricked me. He told me that he had found out too and wanted out just as I did, what a lie that was... He told me he would take me back home so I wouldn't have to be apart of this but he was the one person I should have never believed." Joshua's eye's never left mine. He kept on talking telling me everything I needed to know, but the only thing was... I didn't understand him. "So I did what I thought I should have done at that time... I went with Simon. Biggest mistake of my life."

Something moved outside the door and Joshua stopped talking. He put his figure up to his lips informing me to make no sound. I nodded. Joshua walked over to the door and listened. The something moved again outside the door.

"Stay here" Joshua exclaimed opening the door and running after what ever it was that was spying on us. I sat in the room stunned. What's going on? It's like my life has turned into a roller coaster ever since- My thought's were stopped when I heard another sound. My heart skipped a beat when I started to hear foot steps coming closer and closer to the room. The door was closed and I had no idea what was making it's way over to the room. I sat on the edge of the bed, even if it did hurt my arms, legs, neck, back, pretty much my whole body! I didn't care at that moment. I was more scared then I had been in my whole life. Something grabbed the handle and turned it slowly. I held my breath as I awaited for who ever- or what ever it was outside to enter this room. The door slowly opened. I grabbed the blanket with my hands and held tightly onto it, think that if something were to blow me away I would stay on the ground because this blanket was holding me down.

Finally the door opened wide and I saw who it was.

Sean.
