Expect the Unexpected

Leah Higgins thought she found her soul mate, the love of her life, until one day things fell apart completely. Leah and her best friend Jasmine head out for a night on the town in Atlanta but things suddenly go from great to perfect when an unexpected surprise occurs. Expect the Unexpected...

6. A proper introduction.

An awkward silence placed itself between us & I forced myself to end it. "So what are you girls' names again? I'm sorry I'm terrible with names." "My name is Jasmine and this is Leah" a dark haired girl answered. She was beautiful, they both were. Jasmine had dark brown hair with light green eyes and golden skin, while Leah had light brown hair with a bit of blonde in it, with bright blue eyes and tan skin. "I would introduce myself but I'm pretty sure you know who I am." I said cheekily with a smirk, and everyone laughed. "Good one" Louis said sarcastically while nudging me. "Oh thanks boobear" I replied with sarcasm. "Okay lovebirds cut it out." Liam said with a laugh. It was fun just being able to hang out with people our age other than the boys & I. Its a rarity.

As we talked to the boys more & more, I realized how normal they really were. Stars always say they're the same people they were before, but in reality it always changes them to some degree. All of them were so funny and entertaining, especially Niall. When the food came his face lit up, and I couldn't help but laugh. I always thought his appetite was just one of those exaggerated labels, but it was entirely true! He ordered a plate of 5 waffles, a cheeseburger, a steak, a plate of fries, a ham and cheese omelet, and a fruit cup. There wasn't enough room for all of our food on the table, the waitress had to bring him his food as he ate it!

Our conversations were never-ending. Although we had just met, we had so much to talk about. I never thought about how different American and British cultures were, they were so dramatically different, yet the same.

The food on everyone's plates started to disappear & our dinner/breakfast came to a close. I didn't want this night to end, but I knew I had to give Zayn his phone & we all had to go on with our lives. It was depressing, and the thought flooded my mind. I felt myself frown slightly, and I reached into my purse for his phone. I pulled it out and handed it to him. His fingers brushed mine, damn they were soft! I wanted to just pause the moment and hold his hand. Damn it Leah, snap out of it! You can't have him, he's a freaking celebrity. I needed him out of my mind to spare my heart anymore hurt.

"Thanks" he replied with a grin. And that was it. We started to get up to leave. No, no, no, no. Why did this have to be ending?

As I grabbed my phone from Leah's delicate hand, it suddenly occurred to me. We didn't have anywhere to stay now, our hotel room had been booked months in advance, there was no way we could get another room there tonight. "Shit!" I exclaimed without realizing. "What?!" everybody said in unison. "We don't have anywhere to stay, our hotel was booked months in advance!" I decided to call local motels, anything was better than the street, we couldn't be picky at this point. After a few phone calls, no luck. Everywhere was completely full. Of course, it was summer. How much worse could this night get? Our only other option was to... wait, no. That's the dumbest idea ever. Two girls are never gonna let 5 strangers stay in their home, especially teenage boys. My thoughts were interrupted by a soft, feminine voice. "You- you guys could uh, stay with us I guess." Leah said. "We have an extra bed, a couch, and plenty of blow up mattresses" she continued. "That sounds amazing, thank you so much. Are you sure?" Liam asked. "Of course!" Jasmine replied. We all got up from the table and made our way to the parking lot. "Okay, so I guess we'll follow you?" Louis asked Leah and Jasmine. "Yea that works" Jas replied. With nervousness and excitement filling me, we drove off.
