They Don't Know About Us

Alexanderia Danielle Macoy, Lexi for short. Just a normal, 16 year old teen, searching for something great in life. She decided to try out for the XFactor, being very fond of singing and all. She hoped to go far and become huge! What she wasn't expecting was to fall head-over heals for a guy she wasn't sure about. Little did she know, her life would change in an instant. One because of her amazing voice and two, because the guy she smitten with, is famous....

1. Auditions

(taking place in the UK)

"Your up!" The cordinator said to me, and pointed me in the direction of the stage. He handed me a microphone, and gave me a thumbs up. I exchanged him a smile and turned away. My friend Jessi gave me a quick sqeeze and wished me good luck before I took off. I closed me eyes and took a deep breath. This is it! I thought to myself. I steped up to the stage and peeked around the curtain before walking on. There were hundreds of people, maybe thousands. I couldn't help but get a little squemish.

I stood in the center of the stage and faced the judges. Simon was the first to speak, "So why do you think you have the X-Factor?" He question in a nice but firm tone. "I've been told I have an amazing voice, and I really love singing. So I came here to chase my dream." I replied with a hint of anxiety in my voice. Demi gave me a smile, "Well lets hear it!" I nodded and cued the music.

I closed my eyes, preparing to sing. I opened my mouth, and poured my soul into the song. I knew I had to be perfect. I wanted to please all of the judges. To move onto the judges house, and to the live shows. All of that depended on this moment. This song. Right here. Right now.

I finished my version of Torn by Natalie Imbruglia and dropped my microphone to my chest, waiting to hear what the judges had to say. They all looked at me in awe, then stood up and clapped with everyone else. I was in shock. I got a standing ovation from all four judges.

The clapping finally died down, and Brittany began to speak, "Hi sweetie! First, what's your name?"

"Lexi Macoy" I replied with a smile.

"Well Lexi, you've got one heck of a voice! That was great!"

"Thank you so much"

Then Demi spoke, "I have to agree with Brittany. That was pretty amazing! How old are you?"

"Wow a 16 year with that kind of voice?!"

I smiled and thanked her. Next was LA, "Wow Lexi. I am very impressed! That was beautiful and I am deffinately rooting for you!"

"Thanks LA"

I continued to smile as I turned to Simon. I was a little nervous to see what he had to say, considering he is very cridical and all.

"Well I have to say, that was the best audition I have heard so far on this show." He said with a big grin.

I was at a loss of words. All I could do is grin from ear to ear and squel a little.

The judges talked for a moment deciding if I was going through.

"Lexi you've got 4 big fat yes's!" Simon said in a happy tone.

I screamed and jumped. I couldn't believe it!

"Thank you so much! This is just amazing!!" I said excitedly before running off stage to Jessi.

I stepped down the stairs, almost tripping in the process, and flew into Jessi's big hug.

"That was awesome!" Jessi exclaimed to me, as she let go.

"Thanks girl! I gave it all I had! And it payed off!"

With that with left the building, after getting directions for my flight to bootcamp, and went back to our apartment.

I have known Jessi for 6 years now, and she is like my sister. We decided to be room mates, and buy an apartment to share. We do everything together, and I don't know what I would do without her. She's the one who persuaded me to try X-Factor, since she hears me sing all the time throughout the apartment. If it wasn't for her, I wouldn't be going to Bootcamp.

We arrived back to the apartment, and I started to pack my clothes.

"I'm going to miss you!" Jessi said to me from her bed, as she took out her headphone.

"Haha I'll miss you too Jess!" I ran over to her and gave her a bear hug. "Just make sure you watch me on TV!"

She nodded with a laugh, and went back to her music. I finished packing, and threw myself on my bed, grabbed my Teen magazine, and plugging in my Ipod. I silently sang along to "The A Team" before slowly dozing off.

I hope things will change, and I will finally be noticed. I can't wait to show the judges what i have in store.
