1. New York City

{ ATTENTION!!! Just before you start reading, please note that New York may be mentioned in this story but all the places, roads, streets and stuff are not real places because I made them up! I don't have a clue what's in New York besides theirs cool shopping, so I've heard. I don't live in NYC or America (never even been there!) so just don't complain if theirs really not that street because I made it up. Also if there's not a beach in NYC then sorry...my bad! Thank you!}

I walked out of starbucks with the wind in my hair and the summer heat on my face. I loved summer in New York, it was so warm. I looked at my phone which was held in my left hand and smiled as I had no job requests for the afternoon. This was a mircale, for the first time this week I was finally free to do something I wanted! I looked to see if i had anything else to do and smiled even wider. I 'was' free!

I looked around for a free table outside a small coffee shop and sat down with a huge sigh. I was so busy most of the time I didn't know what to do with myself! I placed my coffee down on the table as well as my handbag and jacket. I looked around the other tables to see a little girl, her mother and her father, eating casually. The little girl smiled polietly and I smiled back, hoping it was me she was looking at. It wasn't...which made it most embarassing for me because now she is giving me weird looks. The person she was smiling at was a tall boy, looked around 21. He sat down beside them and made them laugh. It made me just plain depressed. It made me remember the real reason I came to New York. It made me remember my past. It made me remember the times when I would laugh like that. Happy to go, I picked up my things and my cold coffee and walked out into the street, the wind growing stronger. Two boys walked past, nearlly making me trip on the pathway and spill my coffee. New York was nice besides of the people that were too rude to even care what you might spill onto other people. My phone started blasting funky tunes so I quickly sat down on a bench and looked who was calling. Nicole, one of my good friends and co-workers. I answered and all I could hear was laughing in the background. Nicole was younger then me, turned just 18 and was more of the party girl then me. I was just boring, mature and plain old Abigail Frost.

"Abi, guess what! The boss said we can have this afternoon off because we have some guys coming in to rehearse a thingy...well whatever I didn't hear exactly what she said BUT we're free! And Scarlett and I were wondering if you wanted to come hang with us at the beach! Were already there by the way...."

I sorta got that considering all I could hear was crashing waves and whipping sand blowing into the phone. "Sure thing, Nikkie, I'll just head back to the apartment and grab my things."

"Kay, bye babe!" she sang, hanging up. I sighed and went to the edge of the street where a taxi sat waiting. "To -blah blah blah blah- apartments please" I said, hoping into the front seat.

"Sure" the taxi driver said, starting the car. I looked out the window to see the Little girl and that boy walking down the street, hand in hand. They had icecream and were laughing. It was a laugh that I hadn't shared with someone since....I lived in Australia. At least I know he's never gonna see me again. He's still there not knowing where I've gone unless someone spilled.

We arrived at the doors of my apartment and I paid the Taxi Guy before shuffling over to the elevator.

"Afternoon Miss Frost" said a familer voice. I turned around to see Xavier, the doorman that worked at my apartment building. He smiled, taking my things and pressing my floor number on the elevator.

"Let me help you" he smiled as the elevator shut and we went up. Xavier was one of my good friends and I looked forward to seeing him everyday when I left for work. He's always so sweet and helps me with my things when the other doorman Chase, operates the ground floor. The doors opended and he passes me my bag so I could get my key.

"Have a good day" he called out as I unlocked my door and waved at him. I lived in a small apartment considering their was like 20 floors full of 10 apartments each. *disclaimer-I have no idea if apartments have that many floors or rooms so don't worry about it, thanks!*

It was tidy enough to work around so I chucked my bag on the bench and ran into my room. I put on my favorite black bikini with pink and purple roses and put a white see through dress over the top. I filled my beach bag with sunscreen, a towel, sunglasses, a wide brimmed straw hat, lipbalm, magazines, phone, book, iPod and purse just incase. I put on some pink flip flops then hurried to get down to the beach.

"Leaving again, Miss?" Xavier chuckled, opening the door as I reached the ground floor.

"For the last time, stop calling me Miss! It's Abi, and yes, I'm leaving again" I laughed, nudging him in the ribs. He leant in close to my ear which made me feel uncomfortable.

"I have to call you Miss or your neighbours might get jealous." He pointed over to Madi Evens, who lived on the floor below me, and laughed as she gave us weird stares.

"Oh okay then. Bye Mr Green" I joked, curtsying before getting into a taxi. I waved goodbye before getting a text from Nicole and Scarlett.

Nicole: Hurry up! There's some super hot dudes surfing at the mo and I think there checking us out! Hurry bbe xo Nikkie and Scar.

I replied back, Abi: Kk, I'm getting there. In the taxi right now. Are they super hot??? Luv ya xo Abi.        I sighed as I put my phone back in my bag and watched the beach come into sight.
