It doesn't matter anymore

When Harry styles meets Kathrine on twitter, he begins to fall for her. When he finally sets up a date to meet each other in person, there seems to be a small detail that Kathrine didnt tell Harry and it breaks his heart. Read it to find out what happens :)

~still Wednesday~

I know, I know. I'm 17 years old and I'm afriad of storms. It's embarrassing but I can't help it.
Harry walks through the door with a ham sandwich. I'm sure he noticed the tears in my eyes because of his reaction.
"What's wrong?" He hands me the sandwich and sits down next to me.
"Nothing. I'm fine." I say, blinking the tears out of my eyes.
"I know you're not." He says.
"I'm afraid of storms, okay?" I say. He smiles at me and wraps his arm around my shoulder.
"Don't worry. I'm here to protect you." He says. I smile a bit to myself.
"You're shaking. Are you cold?" Harry asks.
"Just a little." I say. He gets up and brings me a blanket.
"Thank you." I'm pretty sure I'm smiling like an idiot now.
The lightning strikes again, followed by the thunder, and I let out a tiny squeal.
"Shh!" Harry giggles.
"Sorry! It scared me!" I say. Again, the thunder frightens me. Before I have time to scream, I feel a pair of warm lips against mine. He pulls away first and then stares at me.
"Har-" I start, but he cuts me off again by smashing his lips against mine.

I feel like I should be excited about Kat being able to walk again, but I'm not. I don't know why.
I make my way to the lady at the front desk.
"Hello. I believe I left my purse here the other day." I say to her.
"Yes, a nice man brought it to me." She pulls out my purse from behind her desk. "Are you here to see Kathrine?" She hands me the purse.
"Yes, thank you." As I'm walking to Kats room, I notice a piece of paper sticking out of my purse. I take it out and unfold it. It's a note.

Dear Amanda,
I hope your daughter is well and healthy. You left your purse in the cafe. I just wanted to write this letter because I currently have no one here for me anymore. My wife died an hour ago. I'm not sure if you really care, but I thought you should know. I just realized how stupid this note sounds. I guess I'm just a little crazy, kinda like everyone else. I'm not quite sure why to do with my life now. Maybe I'll go home and sit on my couch. Watch some tv. My wife will always be here with me, no matter how hard I try to forget her. Maybe someday I'll re-marry. Anyway, good luck with your daughter.

I fold it up and put it back in my purse. What do I do now? Why do bad things happen to good people? I start to tear up, but then I realize the reason I'm here. I'm here for Kat.
I enter her room to see her and Harry cuddled up next to each other in the tiny hospital bed. Did the doctor allow this? They're both still sleeping. I clear my throat.
"Kat." I say loudly. Her eyes open immediately. She's a very light sleeper. Harry jumps up and gets out of the bed.
"Sorry mrs Amari. She was cold." He scratches the back of his head. I laugh.
"That's cute." I sit on the end of her bed. "How do you feel? Your legs feel different?"
She slowly wiggles her foot.
"Mom, I'm doing it!" She exclaims. She swings her leg over the side of the bed. Then she swings her other one over. She attempts to stand up, but fails. Harry runs over to her and helps her up off the ground. He gently sets her down on her feet.
"Can I let go?" He says. Kat shakes her head. Harry keeps holding her waist to keep her from falling over. I can't tell if I like this boy or not. I'm getting mixed signals. I smile to myself and exit the room. I think I'll let them be alone while I process everything.
